Great video. My cousin wants me to film some of her wedding on Super8 and to use my "Dad Cam" lol Sony Hi8. I use to video her with that Sony when she was like 4 years old in 1999 when I first bought the camera. I shot my other cousin outdoor wedding on Super 8 this past fall 2023. I've been shooting super 8 since I was a kid in the late 70s and early 80s. I have our family Super 8, It's a regular point n shoot type, fix focus just a zoom. Takes great movies for what it is since it's over 45 years old. My issue is editing after I get it transferred to a digital file. Normally I just transferred my old Vhs/Hi8 tape to a digital file, and I'm done. But my question is, what is a good software/program to edit with? Thanks!

I’m still trying to make it work with my Canon M50 + 50mm 1.8 until I can invest in a better camera. Would you suggest the CineStyle profile if I want to use your LUTS? Or do you have another recommendation for Canon mirrorless cameras? I hope my question makes sense 😂 I love your style and am considering purchasing your Unveiled pack. ❤️
Thanks so much! These luts would work beautifully on any Canon profile. I used them primarily with a custom Standard picture profile on the R6. Mostly just reduced sharpness and contrast
I used uncutgems for a film. Turned out really good. I changed some things to match my style a little more. But they did a great job matching how I normally edit.
Anybody got advice on a super 8 camera to buy? Totally new to the idea but would love to incorporate it. Kodak has a new one coming for 5,500 dollars so…not doing that right now. Thanks as always!
I saw that Kodak one, crazy! But I have the Canon 514 XL and love it! Super affordable on EBay. Just make sure you look/read the description for functionality/condition.
Great content, as always! I have shot my first wedding, I have part of the video on my channel. The problem I encountered was that at the reception they had live music and the two microphones I used, a Zoom H1n placed on the table, near the bride and groom and a Zoom F2 placed on the groom, both microphones had caught both the bride and groom's voice that came out of their mouths and their voice that was heard on the speakers. And to all this is added the music, which has also mixed with the voices and I have practically not been able to use my music. The problem is when you start cutting the dialogues, as there is music in the background you already realize there is a cut. How could I solve this problem in the future? Oh no, I’m sorry you weren’t stoked with the final result. It does take some time to really adopt other filmmakers style and brand and it’s not always a perfect fit for everyone but I’m glad you atleast gave them a shot!

The interview is my favorite. If I’m being honest the 8mm overlay is getting old 😅. But when I see it’s a REAL 8mm. Damn. It looks so good.
Yes to the real film!! Same feeling with the overlay. There’s some tasteful ways of implementing it but I agree with you!

Frame Rate: 60 FPS
For better stability use a mono or tripod.
Slow it down in post/add digital zoom for dramatic effect
