Have bought a Dyson V11 and have had to exchange it 3 times now i need a new roller because the blades are falling apart. Also need a new filter but its impossible to buy them. What a useless machine. A complete waste of money. This is the last Dyson product i will ever buy. Its impossible to buya new filter for this machine.
They arent worth the money imo my parents have owned a commercial vaccum purchased 2nd hand 8 years ago and it still sucks stronger than all my 3 dysons. I purchased 3 dysons during that time and i have been having too many issues with them, its pretty much a an over exaggerated Vacuum too many small and complicating parts makes it counter productive in the long run even the battery starts to lose its power, buying new filters and washing it, buying new heads cause they have too many small moving parts that break easily, emptying the bin u have to be delicate or the clip snaps, connection points wearing out, after a year everything starts to rattle.
Len W if you are within the warranty period, there shouldn’t be a problem; Dyson should replace it. And why do you need a new filter. The filter, if maintained properly, will last forever.
I would love to see you go over the same carpet after the Dyson with a high quality corded bagged vacuum and see what you pick up. Thanks for the demo.
This is a really good and informative video. In the first few minutes of seeing you clean I really didn't think the vacuum would gather much dirt as your home looks so spotless. Goes to show you what the Dyson V11 picks up. Thanks for the vid.
I enjoyed this tremendously. I can see how many people would find one of these exceedingly convenient. But there's still, still, all the filth and maintenance involved which I'm far too fussy to deal with. Been there done that. Superbly professional video. And £50 for a filter? Made in Malaysia? Hahaha.
david galloway Dyson filters, if maintained correctly, can have a lifetime expectancy. You just need to make sure it’s cleaned once a month, then allow it to dry for 24-48 hours naturally.
I use my dyson like this half the home every few days that way i never run out of battery and for the occasional spot clean because its easy to just grab of the wall and clean something really quickly
It hasn't got suction like a 1200w numatic but most of the pickup is from the cleaner head design and how the bristles are made. The capacity is quite small too.
It won't replace a full size vacuum. The suction is less unless on boost. There is a battery that needs charging and wears out every few years and the filters clog, also the bin is small and it's a Dyson.
@Emmanuel J Exactly. Some people also use their vacuum for light DIY work such as wallpaper mess, etc. This vacuum wouldn't be able to handle it. It wouldn't be so bad if it was marketed as just a cordless machine but the fact that they say it replaces a full size main vacuum is ridiculous. You have to empty it every time or after 2 uses which means going outside and putting it in the big bin because the bin emptying is far from hygienic. Don't Dyson say their vacuums last 10 years? Because I can't see the V11 lasting 5 years if i'm honest.
@@Xenon777_ I agree with you 100%. I had to demo the V11 today and it's unbelievable how dirty the filter gets within a day or two of demoing. But that battery is not to last and Dyson well know this by only having their 2 year warranty. Do check out those wheels on the V Ball head. The so called plastic bearing is rubbish and with a lot of use wears and the wheels break off. It's unreal how people accept rubbish and pay so much for junk, just because it looks cool and has 'technology'. I suppose it's just the way we are today, a throwaway society.
I agree with you all I’ve had a vax air cordless and although it had sufficient battery life the performance was lacklustre, the quality was also terrible. Until I can afford one or something revolutionary comes out I’m sticking to my trusty sebo x1.1 which is from 2004 and looks and works like new as well as my sebo felix .
These cordless vacuums seem to improve gradually, with this one maybe finally attaining practicality as a primary vacuum. The early models were simply woeful as carpet cleaners, the V8 improved the performance quite a bit, and maybe now I'd be satisfied using this V11 on carpet, which is the real challenge. Sometimes Dyson's products impress me, and other times they profoundly frustrate me, especially at the prices they command. I might actually try one of these when I can get one with the Fluffy head in the US. I use Mieles, Kirbys, a new Filter Queen and Rainbow, and a Riccar central vacuum for most of my cleaning, so its performance would be compared to vacuums like those - that is where I don't expect it to measure up, but I can't say for sure, not having used it. After seeing Roger's excellent demonstration, I'm confident this new model would do most of what I want a vacuum to do. It might not be what Dyson is reaching for - a replacement for full-size corded vacuums - but they're getting better and better. Thank you for this, as always, Roger! Your presentations are unsurpassed!
Regarding cordless vacuums, I don't disagree with you, although Tacony makes a cordless upright under the Riccar brand that probably gives it a challenge. I don't know about others, but, as I said, I'm not on board with cordless yet. If I were to get another one right now, it would be a Dyson.

I noticed when I’m cleaning my carpet on auto mode it’s so difficult for me to move it forward while pressing the trigger however I can move it downward towards me but not upward away from me. In eco mode slides and glades swiftly no problem at all. Why is that ? Am I doing something wrong ?
Hair doesn’t tend to tangle round the roller, but it’s important to remove the roller from time to time as dust and debris collects inside at both ends.
It would be cool to see how much a Miele C3 with turbo brush and parquet twister with a clean bag would pick up after Dyson cleaning and then you could open miele bag to see what else it picked up. For a cordless I think Dyson did good but for the crazy price it better cleans better than any vacuum out there lol , although the crazy price can not be justified at all. Yes, I have a V10. It is slightly lighter than the V11 and feels easier to use. I suggest you visit a store with the various models and try them yourself before you decide.
Really good video, loved the demo and the music. The V11 looks a nice cleaner but I couldn't justify paying £600. Maybe £200/300 on a v8 is more appropriate. Thumbs up from me Rodger.. 👍🏽
Adam 21 totally worth it I just upgraded from v7 for the extra battery life. Gave the old one to one of my kids for their house. It's got amazing pick up and makes cleaning so easy and I can do my whole 4 bed house in one go
The cyclones in this V11 are not so effective at separating dust from air. That’s why the filters look dirty. If you look back at one of his videos on the Dyson DC28C, the filter looks whole lot cleaner even after the canister is full. Roger, what's your opinion on this?
Hasnt made me regret my purchase of the cordless shark liftaway. Think its much more versatile than the dyson and dont like the idea of changing heads from hard to soft floors. Dyson may pick up slightly better on carpet but shark win hands down on hard floors and much cheaper too.
The filtration really doesn't seem as good as the older Dysons. I used to have an old DC07 used as the main cleaner and the filters were never cleaned for over 10 years and they just had very little amounts of fine dust and they were pretty clean really. The filtration of the V11 doesn't seem great even after all of these years of Dyson designing the cyclones.
I still have a DC07, by heck it sucks hard, it's so noisy as well! Brush heads have come a long way though to be fair! It certainly does miss a few dog hairs here and there.
There's something satisfying about watching someone vacuum. As much as I want a Dyson. The price just puts me off. And to be honest, I don't think I would be very diligent as cleaning out the bin and the filters. I'm using a Nilfisk bagged vacuum and while it's a pain to buy the bags, it's much cleaner to empty.
So £50 for a new filter and £60 for a new battery when that wears out after 3 or 4 years. Plus it's a Dyson so full of fragile plastic parts that will eventually crack or break off. A battery that needs charging and if course natural battery wear. It's just another fancy Dyson gadget that will last a short time before the next big 'amazing' Dyson V something comes out and then you discover that Dyson will stop supporting what they consider 'old technology' rather quickly. These are the Apple of vacuums. It's the 'upgrade every few years' product.
Apart from the fact Dyson parts are readily available online even for very old models so not an issue? Plus okay the battery needs replacing but the filter is washable so why buy a new one anyway unless you play tennis with your filters?
they use plastic to keep it lightweight. nobody wants to be lugging about a heavy steel wand. Theres lots of different types of plastics too, Ive no idea why you assume they would be fragile. Ive had two dysons for many years, and there is no sign of wear on any of the plastic parts
why don't you show how the V11 empties.....you just show what comes out. Can you show it? I have looked at various videos and no where can I find someone showing it. My V6 has bad emptying thing...Nothing comes out when you press the red button thing as the dirt sticks inside the collecting bin . I have to dig the dirt out with a chop stick which is not good for my dust allergy. I have to have a shower after emptying it. So can you show something please about the emptying, all the buttons etc, not just the dirt that comes out? Thanks!
Last month bought a Dyson aircool air purifier which turn out to be a faulty machine and due for replacement (yet to receive). yesterday I bought V11 absolute pro (gold) and received a faulty product again . Huh! After spending 60k if you receive so, how does it feel! I’m totally disappointed with the quality. It’s made up of cheap plastic and built quality is not that outstanding as expected from Dyson, the so called company with researched innovative product line. I used to be a huge fan of Dyson but I’m utterly disappointed with both the product I purchased in a span of few weeks. It makes me realise either they sold product rejected by developed countries or out sourced manufacturing to cheap Chinese firms specially for Southeast Asia. I have lodged complaints to Dyson to return both products as they say. Do not purchase from Dyson ! I’m telling from my experience
I have dyson dc29 bought in 2010 never had an issue still going strong 10 year running.. And v6 the only thing about the v6 complaint would be the battery Nothing else

As much as I want a Dyson. The price just puts me off. And to be honest, I don't think I would be very diligent as cleaning out the bin and the filters.
I'm using a Nilfisk bagged vacuum and while it's a pain to buy the bags, it's much cleaner to empty.
in the green you wash the filters once a month? Takes 2 minutes
Thats terrible battery life it really annoyed me when dyson said they would stop development on upright vacuums
Thanks!
I have a v8
And v6 the only thing about the v6 complaint would be the battery
Nothing else
That's your mums new house
You said location instead of vacation at the start of the vidio
I was at a different location, I wasn’t on vacation.
@@ibaisaic ohhhhh
@@ibaisaic v11s pretty good
sorry for telling but you live inside a totally allergenic house
you have to take out all your wall to wall carpets its the best welcoming for allergenic mites and ext
anyway 2019 who use wall to wall
Hoovers whole house, then empties hoover in the house 🤦♂️😂
Incorrect.... he 'Dysoned' the whole house.... 😆👍
I don't think his mum wast too happy him emptying the dirt on her carpet
Wow...Just loves to get his hands dirty... literally.
Cant avoid dirty hands and a lung full of dust with a bagless vacuum.
@@ibaisaic I was clearly refering to the dust inspection part of your video..which has nothing to do with the kind of vacuum you're using 🙂... Do try 🧤.
loved the vid👍. I'm awaiting my delivery of this machine!
i v11
God maskine
Wow Dirty bloody house lol
Fantastic cordless vacuum; but in truth it is nowhere near worth the price they ask for it. It should easily be priced at least $200 less; and they’d still be making a very high profit. I feel like I’d have to tattoo the word “stupid” on my forehead to pay full retail price for this. In some countries you could literally hire a cleaning lady for a year for the price of one of these! 😂
the newest one is never worth the price. i got the v8 several months ago and love it.
