I have 3+4 Gleason 7 prostate cancer Pet scan says it’s dormant. Been taking Valasta astaxathin and Rad 140 for 3 months. Psa started at 15 now down to 3.2. Recently started Fenbendazole 444 mg per day 5 days per week. So hopefully that kills the cancer combined with the above treatment my CRP level is less than 1 as well, due to the valasta. Aches are gone as well and it has even cured me from my gluten allergies. Eating normal foods
So sorry to hear about your results. Hope there are different treatment options available to you. I'm just 12 weeks into a stage 4 PC diagnosis myself. On ADT, waiting for radiation.
My heartfelt concerns and strengths go towards you Woody...I've been following your posts for sometime now and I never fail to admire and get something from your videos. You stay stay stong and we will keep strong for you also 🙏
As a fellow patient, my heart goes out to you Woody, down there in Medway, my former home. You’re an outstanding advocate for this dreadful illness. I wish you nothing but strength and warm wishes. Really emotional typing this. You’re amazing. - John
Hi Woody , so much admire your positivity. My brother and I have been advised to keep an eye on our PSA because my father had surgery on his prostate 14 years ago,?but my GP tells me I can’t have a blood test because it’s not quite a year since my last test!!!! , the tv is nightly is reminding us that we us men from mid life on should keep one eye on things! screening and prevention are the new words in this future approach!!!! but hay this is modern Britain, sorry for my rant. Thinking of you mate and try to enjoy your family holiday. Mark, beef/arable farmer from Cheshire/Shropshire border
I’ve lost faith in GPs I’m afraid. My cancer was misdiagnosed for 8 months as sciatica. Knowing what I know now I would not be waiting a year to get a test if I was you.
I tell myself when the cancer bobs, I weave and when it zigs, I zag and if I can just keep doing that, before I know it I'll be an old man dieing of something else. We all still have a lot of living left to do!
As always Woody, thanks for your honesty, iam on a similar journey with doubling psa, but it is what is you have to keep going. Take care, god bless , Phil, enjoy your break.
Enjoy your holiday Woody! It's never easy when one encounters bumps on the road, but I know you will remember that you are being monitored closely and have access to treatment options. And you've got support from family and your friends around the world. Cheers, Reid
Woody, sorry to hear about your psa rise- hang in there and as you say enjoy every day as it comes along, that’s a lesson that we all learn on this journey. You are dead right about the AI. A gripe of mine is how hopeless (ie non existent) our PC screening is in the UK. It’s because of this that we have people with stage 4 PC . This is an easy task for AI. I was looking at the data of my blood test records and it is a classic case for AI analysis - that’s what I do in my day job _ I am a scientist working in analysing ( making sense of) of big complicated data files. I nearly asked the oncologist if I could have the data so I could run it through my software. I don’t think he would have got it, and at the time we were meant to be focussing on my latest mri scan so I let it go. Stay positive and keep the videos coming.
@@Livingwith-prostatecancer Woody yes it looks like my mets have "dissappeared". I had 5 in my lymphs and one on my spine. The oncologist thinks it is the Prostap and apalautamide, I think my excercising is also helping. Am having a further MRI in 6 weeks to confirm. Then if that is clear I think I will pay for a PSMA PET scan to really see what is happening ( the the doc says he can't do that for some reason) Any mets left I will then go for spot radiation treatment. - Keep the videos coming!
What treatment did you have Woody, My gleeson 8 was treated with 18 months of Adt hormone injections then 20 radiotherapy sessions, just being monitored every 6 months now, hope they come up with a successful treatment plan for you keep positive m8.
Hi John have metastatic prostate stage 4 number 150 2 months on erleada 240mg with zobone drip monthly monthly lucrin first month down 4 now 1.45 i have bone all over What i trying say if this may help you God bless
Have a psma pet scan to locate the recurrence sites and have stereotactic radiotherapy to those spots. Consider luteuim 177 . There is new treatment coming with actinium 225 .
How high is the PSA now....doubling sucks, for sure, however, as you know, there are other medications available. Keep in mind men live for a long, long time with prostate cancer. If your cancer was the aggressive type, you would be dead already. So, I am confident that you will deal with it, and live a long time ( I had prostate cancer myself and have ongoing PSA tests too), and have had a number of treatments (not an "active surveillance" patient at all).
My PSA started doubling every month which is scary. I did some research and found cooked tomato products were very helpful. I started taking tomato ketchup 3 times a day off a spoon and it stopped rising. Now I take tomato puree about 20 grams 3 times a day plus some ketchup and I'm fine. I'll just keep on this. I treat it as medicine. I'd rather do this than chemo which will still fail eventually. Good luck and take care whatever you do.
Cooked tomatoes, especially Roma tomatoes absolutely help lower PSA and are extremely helpful as part of prostate cancer treatment. Eat tomatoes every day. Every single day. Stewed, cooked, even raw. But, the cooked is better.
I’ve started drinking tomato juice and drinking tomato purée ( there are worst things) I’ve read a bit about it I think it’s worth a try. I guess there is only one way to find out.🙏
@@Livingwith-prostatecancer Yes, it's worth having a go.I take 3 heaped dessert spoons every day about 60g grams a day plus extra spoons of quality low sugar tomato ketchup. You get used to it and it's far better than the alternatives. I've taken far worse things. Good luck with it.
@@Livingwith-prostatecancerI wish your next blood test shows better , lower result, a mr of lower back is good from time to time for examining what is going on. I wish you all best, dear Woody.

I read that prostate cancer has a high cure rate..but I see many with reoccurrence in here
I think it all depends how early it is caught. If it’s caught early it can be managed very well

I would be interested to know PSA figure.
Just risen from 0.98 to 1.78 been very slowly creeping up for the last 5 months now
Vita d as well....
