Some tips I found to be very useful and that I'd loved to have known myself in the beginning. - there is a global grid, hold ctrl when placing foundations and it'll snap to the a global grid - when manually crafting you can just press space bar once and so you don't need to hold it - when building conveyers, you can switch build modes with R: For conveyers you now have a "straight" more for example, or for foundations there is the zoop or vertical mode. - middle mouse button can "select" a whatever building you are looking at - with ctrl + c when you are close to a factory you can copy it's configuration, and with ctrl + v you can paste it to others, this works for recepies and overclocking, as well as later on for smart splitters etc. - one of the most fun ways to travel for me (until you unlock hypertubes) are ziplines, you can unlock those in the carterium tree in the mam, tho it takes some getting use to I could go on and on, but I guess you'll figure out most stuff on your own sooner or later. Loved the first series and can't wait to see this one :)
Lol,I just finished the game and was so mad they didn't have a select what I'm looking at option, It's what I get for trying to avoid all info about it to avoid spoilers.
The "Noob" cover image for this video was taken from Josh's (Let's Game It Out) early play-through, to which I have to strongly disagree about the Noob title - Josh is a Grand Master of Chaos and of creating such magnificent visual catastrophes that can easily induce a stroke in anyone with a hint of OCD!
I watched so many of his videos that when I started to play oblivion I didn't start the story until I got every single thing i could stole in the city into a big pile of junk in front of one of the guard posts. I did it for almost 20 hours
Just saying, this is 1.0! If you wanna avoid spaghetti, use the straight build mode for conveyors, then you'll have nice 90 degree turns. Also, biomass burners now have a conveyor input, so you can link up your constructor straight to the burners and you won't have to carry it around. (edit is a typo by the way)
Don't forget to use the zoop feature. Hold R when building foundations and you can change it to vertical or zoop mode. Zoop mode let's you build 10 in one direction in one shot. Also works with a few other pieces like walls, barriers, etc. But I'm not an architect so I usually don't build walls. XD The same button also lets you switch pipe and conveyor build modes. For conveyors it has a "straight only" mode that only makes straight right angled lines.
@@playlisttarmac wierd cuz when i press r it just tells you what build mode you are on like literally just bellow where you're crosshair is it says "Build mode: default" and pressing r cycles to the next mode like Zoop/Vertical
1. Hold Control when building foundations to make them snap to the global grid. Everything will line up perfectly. 2. Press R when building conveyor belts to switch to "Straight" building mode, which makes belts only do nice clean right-angle turns.
Another note is that for early game power, the biomass generators can now be fed with conveyor belts now in 1.0 so all you have to do once you set it up is load the storage with leaves and wood... Also after unlocking the chainsaw, you get the solid biomass log things which can be automated in the constructor as well which makes your biomass more efficient (burns longer per leaf/wood)
oh! the R for build straight... I've read that it was a thing in the patch note but didn't realise while building my starting factory and will need to remember it xD Anyway was about to comment about the Ctrl for foundation... even if they may not be at the perfect height it's better than nothing

Only problem with Straight conveyers is that if you start conveyer from a mine (which for some reason are impossible to line up with global grid) the conveyer can be slightly off making it very frustrating to figure out why long lines aren't actually straight/parallel.. For those times you can put a container on foundation and connect to that, or start building from smeltery backwards - the conveyer tool keeps correct direction long as you continue same line.
@@DeadsTBD They changed things from early access to 1.0 and I don't mean the obvious "biomass burners have a back receiving port" kind of changed. I believe it was update 7 where they made it where specifically all power generation would make max power and the grid would take whatever it needed, except for biomass burners. That was the 1 exception to that change and it seems they've changed it to where biomass burners do the exact same thing. I'm a little disappointed in this because before 1.0 when this was still a thing, you could treat biomass burners as a "poor man's battery". You'd load them up with biomass and leave them connected to the grid. They'd only turn on and consume fuel if your power load exceeded what your other power producers could manage, exactly like what batteries do. So it's a shame the bio burners are the same as all other generators, but the input is a decent trade for that.
fun thing about conveyors in 1.0, you can change the build mode (press R when you're building a conveyor) and you can change it to "straight build mode" which will keep everything to 90 degree turns For your foundations not lining up, there actually is a "global grid" that you can snap to when building foundations by pressing ctrl. That will make it so that if you ever connect two separate rooms, the foundations will line up
CTRL only needs to be held while building the first foundation in a new area, and following foundations snap to the first (the worldgrid) properly also without using CTRL. horizontal snapping to a grid of 8m x 8m always worked, but until U8, you would get a vertical 0.5m offset on 1m foundations (1m for 2m foundations, and 2m on 4m foundations), and thus it was recommended to start foundations in a new area with a 2m or 4m foundation (that can later be dismantled again when you built more foundations of any thickness). NOW IN 1.0, they seem to have fixed that somehow, and all foundations should snap vertically to a 1m grid.
Helpful tip for the beginning - Before you make a factory with foundations, make product lines for most building materials such as concrete and iron plates. You don't need to use them now and it's recommended to store them in a container so that you can do more building. Once you automate your power, you can rebuilding everything with all the materials you need for a proper factory.

There's also different modes for belts, pipes and other things too! And once you unlock the awesome sink, get the concrete foundations in the materials in the awesome shop! It removes the iron plates requirement for belts. There's lots of little tricks you can use to make things easier to manage. You can also use the quick search as a calculator and to look up recipes and buildings. You even have a flashlight built in to your suit that doesn't use power of any kind!
Something that makes manually crafting better. Just tap the space bar and it will automatically hand craft things without you even touching the keyboard. There's also an in game global foundation grid. Hold the Ctrl key when placing foundations and it will snap to the world grid. Not always convenient though as your buildings might not line up well with the terrain.
Tips for people. 1.) always make a run for solid biomass fist this will make powering your machine easy in the beginning. 2.) you can hook up the conveyor belts into biomass burners now this means you can automate fuel other than gathering it. 3.) hold crt for snapping. 4.) if you press R you can change modes for example "zoop" mode for plopping down a bazillion foundations. 5.) belts now have a straight mode and it's beyond amazing although it still needs a few minor adjustments. 6.) this game is about pre-planning out your factories and about getting things made as efficiently as possible so your not having to afk. 7.) don't do research in order you can pick and choose the most important tech. 8.) try and get as many hard drives as possible since they are now progression based meaning the recipes are actually useful in the beginning. 9.) find S.A.M as soon as possible and start sinking it to get lots of points in the beginning and as you research the next S.A.M process add that in before sinking to exponentially increase your awesome points. 10.) machines have a switch on them you can click to turn off the machine without disconnecting the power lines allowing you to free up power for other machines.
Another tip is pay attention to your output numbers. If youre on a normal vein of ore can be split to 2 smelters so on and so forth. Don't be afraid of slapping down a constructor just to check the recipe for something, also remember your Mk1 belts max out at 60 units per minute. Typical iron production for screws will result in 1 miner > 2 smelters > 4 constructors on rods, merge 2 belts of rods into 30 then split it 3 ways into 3 constructors to make screws at a 1:1 ratio though you'll need a Mk3 belt in order to uphold the combined belts of screws (135 IIRC), until then just store them into storage bins for maximum efficiency early game. Point being invest in logistics milestone and watch those numbers, math skills is a must. If you can efficiently output at a stable 1:1 rate you'll be golden
If it interests you at all do not hesitate to buy it. (Maybe wait for a sale. I usually do.) Probably my favorite game of all time. Doing my fourth playthrough for 1.0 and still loving it.
Buy this game if you have 100 hours on you. Also, make sure to use math and make the most efficient factories, hold ctrl, use straight conveyors using r, and use the MAM. This is a great game, 10/10 would recommend.
Dont forget to use ZOOP mode when laying foundations to build up to 10 horizontally or vertically. you can also change the build mode of belts using R to go to straight mode to have it always make 90 degree bends for you.
You're playing 1.0 aren't you mate? If you are, you can feed the biomass (or solid biofuel) into them burners with a conveyor belt with the new update.
If I may make a suggestion, Ficsit engineers should use input and output buffers for all production lines. If you are smelting ore, place a storage container before your smelter to hold ore and a container after it to hold ingots. Then the container of ingots should feed into the contractor making wire. Then the constructor making wire should feed into a container that then feeds into the constructor making cable. These buffers allow for continued productivity even if there is a temporary bottleneck upstream or downstream.
14:30 No, you don't have MK2 belts yet. You can only pull out 60/min from the mine. 16:40 Who's gonna tell him? Oh wait I already did xdd 19:00 Wooo he did it.
Producing 120 iron only matters if your conveyer can move 120 a minute. Since the first conveyer is 60, you only needed to split that line once. Leaving room for yourself to upgrade.
If you press control you will always get a platform aligned with the world grid. If you press R while placing foundations you can "Zoop" up to ten foundations/walls etc. Either vertical or horizontal in a line. It makes placing foundations much much quicker
I was afraid that this would be a patron only series. please RCE, if your seeing this, release the full series when your done with it to TH-cam, some of us honestly can't afford patreon, this is all I'm asking honestly.
There are 2 type of people on Satisfactory. -The first type tries to make perfect but ends up with spaghetti - The second type are pro at making spaghetti factory (hi josh)
- The third who rebuilds everything 10 times until it is clean. LOL. Once you have a couple hundred hours under your belt it isn't TOO hard to avoid spaghetti. Snap to World Grid helps.
Only for patreon, not everyone has the time and money to pay for patreon. I've actually stopped watching many of his videos due to this. Disappointing. We all have to make money, but it was those first subs that even made him to where he is today.
And he plays a lot of different games which is interesting to a bigger part of the viewership, Patreon is offsetting the cost of video making for fewer people. Be happy for what he does or just stop watching. It's the circle of going live
18:30 I have to put my anorak on and say that they are screws if the thread goes all the way up to the head (I can't tell at the resolution I'm watching). Bolts have no thread over the distance it goes through the material it is bolting together. Of course you can live on the edge and use a screw as a bolt, but you'll probably be given a complimentary membership to the Architect's Club.
RCE proves that you don't have to be good at games to have a thriving YT channel focused on playing games. It can be frustrating watching him play games so inefficiently but still enjoyable.
So does it make me a bad person that I love the chaos over the ultra organized. Those bus belt thingies are a straight jacket on my soul. I must be free to express my noodle soul thru dead ends and the wrong thing on the right belt and even the middle and left one. This is why I always do a belt floor to hide the genius.
I'm so happy all of my favorite gaming channels are covering this game's 1.0 release! I've just started playing myself and got my first space elevator 🥳
Only half way through the video but I absolutely love this game and there are so many small features like pressing R for straight conveyers that makes clean factories easier, also use the world grid! Omg I wanna see a whole series about this
Buildings are so OP for the OCD, lol! So nice to have 2 Mk3 lines going into holes and having 2 mk3 smelted lines coming out the other side. It really helps hide the complexity, so you don't go wandering and trying to "improve" everything all the time.
@@hunterjackson802 While I generally agree with that - Its just how YT works these days, I have however seen some really clever creators do like 9 seasons of Timberborners which happen to be the best Beaver Soap on YT and make that work perfectly, so somehow I am left with idea that its totally possible :p
There are different build modes for a lot of things like foundations, and belts. You should press "R" and "E" while holding a belt, and a foundation to see how it works. I really like the "Straight" build mode for the belts. It automatically makes 90* angles.
Blueprints are so useful later on, but the key thing throughout the entire game is efficiency. Make sure you use splitters and overclocking property it takes 3 splitters to properly split 1 line to 4 not the 2 you used
13:37 you should rotate the ramp so it goes parallel with the bridge, instead of perpendicular to it, take less usable space. At least until your pneumatic system is ready.
7:40 Matt forgot how to use the ZOOP-function 😅 But yeah, there's so much going on in this game making it impossible to remember everything. Great video editors! (I'm rooting for you guys!)
the constructable biomass burners can be connected to belt to sort of automate it. you might need 5 or 6 of them to get enough power without needing to manually fill the ones on the hub
Hey matt if you hold control it will automatically snap your foundations to the same world grid and also the new biomass burner now have a belt input so you can automate refuelling them
As soon as I could build a biomass burner I stopped using the hub power generators. They only produce 20MW each compared to the 30 of the burners and they don't have conveyor belt inputs now too. Edit: Just at the part where you discovered your miner producing 120 ore and split it into 4 smelters. That's great but your Mk. 1 belt only has capacity for 60 items so you're only at 15 per miner when split 4 ways. If you need a quick calculator (handy for such things) you can use the built-in search function - N by default - to do basic maths.
You have a different sense of order than I do lol. I definitely love when storage containers are neatly ordered in the same area. Lined up. Stacked so you can easily find what you want. This half spaghetti is too much spaghetti for me x
Don’t forget to check that your factories are efficient, making sure the parts per minutes are perfect (one machine gets 60 parts a min, if the other takes 30, use a splitter so they both get 30)
Did you notice that the drop pod physics is backwards? Decellerating in the atmosphere results in positive g, not negative, so the lanyard is going the wrong way.
i love how he just didn't realize that he can conveyer belt in a biomass burner for full automation of it XD and then never have to deal with refuelling them :3
That two hour long bridge review was probably the longest bridge review he's ever produced and yet had the relatively underwhelming grade of 'average'... lol
Buying Satisfactory right now. Been putting this off for a while. No lie. Timberborn, Satisfactory, Beltmatic, Farmer was replaced, Hydroneer, and I believe a few others. I bought all of these after watching you F about in them. You make them look so fun, and they are, I can't help but try them out.
Wait... Why would the flashlight cord go up??? There is no air resistance inside the drop pod. Since the pod is decelerating the cord would be pointing down, right?
I was thinking this too. Maybe it hits a sweet spot for no/low gravity? I don't know if it would be straight up, but not sure if it would be hanging straight down either lol
I'm not sure it is decelerating tho I always assumed the pods just violently smashes into the ground in an unrealistic manner that would kill any normal person xD
Accelerating at first due to gravity causing it to go up. (The pod is Accelerating downwards, imparting force into the tool which then imparts force into the strap. ) When the retros fire and the pod starts deaccellerating then the strap goes down.
You assume the pod is continuously decelerating. If you play the game (because Matt skipped over it), you're not decelerating until the point at which the torch strap switches direction.
As someone who had made it the main task to remove all visible nature from this game using foundations (fairly succeessfull id say) i approve the use of foundations. And walls, obviously. Cant encase a mountain/bridge without walls.
You can press spacebar once in order to do the manual construction of items at your workbench. You don't have to keep the mouse button pressed the whole time. PS: I was comment 69 :D
if you wanted to be most efficient with building screws could you merge 2 iron rod makers together so you would have 30/min then split that 30 three ways so you have 3 screw makers going at 10/min?
If my math is correct you are producing 15 iron rods from both machines and the screws take 10 iron rods you could hook up three machines to that using a conveyor merger for the third one and run at 100% efficiency
- Sees a new episode - oh satisfactroy i got that game and played with friend like a week ago - starts geting PTSD from start of the game - thanks god that we are plaing on old save that have had allready 70+ hours on it

Ill be watching ImKibitz Satisfactory run. I get inspired by his play through to redo my factory so many times. You should watch it also and get inspired and then when your done with the pay wall run, do a highlight of what you did for the people who support you on TH-cam.
I did that with my last series and people didn't really enjoy the video- just goes to prove this game cannot exist as a series on my channel and another reason for patreon existing (despite the hate it seems to bring lol)

I hope that you're proud of me. I just had my first day in Architecture school. I know you REALLY like Architects RCE!
Oh wait I already did xdd
19:00 Wooo he did it.
On a sidenote - the is a global grid when building foundations. IIRC you need to hold down CTRL while in building mode.
3:07 I love how he pulled this off while doing the bridge review. 😂😂
I was afraid that this would be a patron only series.
please RCE, if your seeing this, release the full series when your done with it to TH-cam, some of us honestly can't afford patreon, this is all I'm asking honestly.
Dudes just farming at this point, only series ull see
Is more timberborn, or a repost compilation of an old series.
When placing buildings you can hold CTRL and line them up with other buildings.
There are 2 type of people on Satisfactory.
-The first type tries to make perfect but ends up with spaghetti
- The second type are pro at making spaghetti factory (hi josh)
- The third who rebuilds everything 10 times until it is clean. LOL.
Once you have a couple hundred hours under your belt it isn't TOO hard to avoid spaghetti. Snap to World Grid helps.
FINALLY I CAN WATCH MORE RCE SATISFACTORY
Edit:Nevermind
Only for patreon, not everyone has the time and money to pay for patreon. I've actually stopped watching many of his videos due to this. Disappointing. We all have to make money, but it was those first subs that even made him to where he is today.
And he plays a lot of different games which is interesting to a bigger part of the viewership, Patreon is offsetting the cost of video making for fewer people.
Be happy for what he does or just stop watching. It's the circle of going live
0:23 :lionfied: take the cross
Hi
18:30 I have to put my anorak on and say that they are screws if the thread goes all the way up to the head (I can't tell at the resolution I'm watching). Bolts have no thread over the distance it goes through the material it is bolting together. Of course you can live on the edge and use a screw as a bolt, but you'll probably be given a complimentary membership to the Architect's Club.
RCE proves that you don't have to be good at games to have a thriving YT channel focused on playing games. It can be frustrating watching him play games so inefficiently but still enjoyable.
If you thought this was inefficient, you never want to see my Satisfactory world.
8:49 RAT BIRD 😂😂😂
You can hold CTRL when building foundation and snap them to the world grid.
0:35 Beginning with the logic that your pod is constantly accelerating until the parachute deploys is an excellent start
Reminder to press ctrl when placing foundations to snap to the World grid. Then your factories will all align, no matter where they are
I'm so happy all of my favorite gaming channels are covering this game's 1.0 release! I've just started playing myself and got my first space elevator 🥳
Only half way through the video but I absolutely love this game and there are so many small features like pressing R for straight conveyers that makes clean factories easier, also use the world grid! Omg I wanna see a whole series about this
@T.EXT-RealCivilEngineerGaming1 yay
Buildings are so OP for the OCD, lol! So nice to have 2 Mk3 lines going into holes and having 2 mk3 smelted lines coming out the other side. It really helps hide the complexity, so you don't go wandering and trying to "improve" everything all the time.
Matt not realising Burners have belt feeders now
Low key hate that this is a patreon exclusive series. Would have loved to see it.
Unfortunately the meta is short one time videos to get $$$. Series dont hold as many views, even though they are way more enjoyable.
@@hunterjackson802 While I generally agree with that - Its just how YT works these days, I have however seen some really clever creators do like 9 seasons of Timberborners which happen to be the best Beaver Soap on YT and make that work perfectly, so somehow I am left with idea that its totally possible :p
13:41 The entirety of satifactory, summarized in just under 4 seconds
Never thought I'd see the day we'd have a regular Satisfactory playthrough. Brings a tear to my eye
Make sure you use splitters and overclocking property it takes 3 splitters to properly split 1 line to 4 not the 2 you used
This NEEDS to be a series
13:37 you should rotate the ramp so it goes parallel with the bridge, instead of perpendicular to it, take less usable space.
At least until your pneumatic system is ready.
7:40 Matt forgot how to use the ZOOP-function 😅 But yeah, there's so much going on in this game making it impossible to remember everything. Great video editors! (I'm rooting for you guys!)
If you manual craft, check the short keys listed on the screen. Hold left mouse button or just click spacebar once :)
"So I have to give this bridge-"
5.-wait, dock a point. 4.7"
"A 6.2 out-"
"Curses, foiled again!"
Real Civil Engineer vs Lets Game It Out would be a battle that would go down in history.
Full series please!! Also please go to the swamp. There is erm... Free bridges there? Definately.
the constructable biomass burners can be connected to belt to sort of automate it. you might need 5 or 6 of them to get enough power without needing to manually fill the ones on the hub
You can now connect conveyor belts to the biomass burners (not the ones on the hub though) instead of having to manually put fuel in it
Hey matt if you hold control it will automatically snap your foundations to the same world grid and also the new biomass burner now have a belt input so you can automate refuelling them
As soon as I could build a biomass burner I stopped using the hub power generators.
British people in -1607. 01:05
love to see you playing neatly and efficiently, like an actual engineer. I wish you played timberborners like that
9:14 RCE is getting hunched, man, he's bulking
Don’t forget to check that your factories are efficient, making sure the parts per minutes are perfect (one machine gets 60 parts a min, if the other takes 30, use a splitter so they both get 30)
LGIO vs RCE in factory building
Edit throwing in Spiff for good measure would also be a lot of fun
Indeed it would be
Dude, your fuse blew, and i thought it was mine 😆
Did you notice that the drop pod physics is backwards? Decellerating in the atmosphere results in positive g, not negative, so the lanyard is going the wrong way.
Day 30 of asking Matt to play what he wants to play. Because we will enjoy it anyway :)
The burners that you built (a.k.a. not the hub ones) have conveyor inputs for biomass
When you are making belts, press R on your keyboard to activate straight mode, it makes belts automatically become straight with 90 degree bends.
You can press Space Bar button once in the crafting bench and it will auto craft. You don't need to hold the button down
i love how he just didn't realize that he can conveyer belt in a biomass burner for full automation of it XD and then never have to deal with refuelling them :3
That two hour long bridge review was probably the longest bridge review he's ever produced and yet had the relatively underwhelming grade of 'average'... lol
Buying Satisfactory right now. Been putting this off for a while.
No lie. Timberborn, Satisfactory, Beltmatic, Farmer was replaced, Hydroneer, and I believe a few others. I bought all of these after watching you F about in them. You make them look so fun, and they are, I can't help but try them out.
this is way to neat I just throw anything wherever I find the space and try memorise it’s location inside my cancer cell of a factory
When will part 2 be out for TH-cam Members
Oof I forgot!! I'll post it now sorry!
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming Thank you sir
I'm not sure it is decelerating tho
I always assumed the pods just violently smashes into the ground in an unrealistic manner that would kill any normal person xD
Accelerating at first due to gravity causing it to go up.
(The pod is Accelerating downwards, imparting force into the tool which then imparts force into the strap. )
When the retros fire and the pod starts deaccellerating then the strap goes down.
You assume the pod is continuously decelerating. If you play the game (because Matt skipped over it), you're not decelerating until the point at which the torch strap switches direction.
Converyer belt gore is basically what every factory is until the mid to late game when you unlock better transport options.
As someone who had made it the main task to remove all visible nature from this game using foundations (fairly succeessfull id say) i approve the use of foundations. And walls, obviously. Cant encase a mountain/bridge without walls.
Screws have thread all the way to the head, bolts have a plain unthreaded section under the head. So I think they're screws
I noticed the thumbnail and immediatley thought, does he know let's game it out? Because the Spaghetti on the thumbnail looks so tame 😂
20:52 Brother you are only on Project assembly level 1 complicated doesn't begin till level 3.
This is what Josh's nightmares are about
Fr
There is a conveyor hole in the biomass burner
You can press spacebar once in order to do the manual construction of items at your workbench. You don't have to keep the mouse button pressed the whole time.
PS: I was comment 69 :D
When placing blocks, hold down the CTRL key to lock them to the global grid before clicking to place.
Then hold CTRL to snap new placements lineup with existing machines, belts, etc.
if you wanted to be most efficient with building screws could you merge 2 iron rod makers together so you would have 30/min then split that 30 three ways so you have 3 screw makers going at 10/min?
Let me build a bridge... HOLD PLEASE! 😂 (spongebob) "2 HOURS LATER"
If my math is correct you are producing 15 iron rods from both machines and the screws take 10 iron rods you could hook up three machines to that using a conveyor merger for the third one and run at 100% efficiency
- Sees a new episode
- oh satisfactroy i got that game and played with friend like a week ago
- starts geting PTSD from start of the game
- thanks god that we are plaing on old save that have had allready 70+ hours on it
dont use period in your world unless you want to break the save for blue-prints, to fix it go to session manage an remove the period an use save your blue print. ps also use command session command if your having permissions issues fail to save the blueprints use this comand, save this session
You can press the space bar once and it will be handcrafting forever.
I played satisfactory for the first time exactly 25 minutes before this video came out
Thats not Noob thats Josh
Ill be watching ImKibitz Satisfactory run. I get inspired by his play through to redo my factory so many times. You should watch it also and get inspired and then when your done with the pay wall run, do a highlight of what you did for the people who support you on TH-cam.
I did that with my last series and people didn't really enjoy the video- just goes to prove this game cannot exist as a series on my channel and another reason for patreon existing (despite the hate it seems to bring lol)
You can use the search bar and the clockspeed fields as calculators.
Also if you have played Minecraft then you would like the create mod bc it’s basically satisfactory in Minecraft
literally sat down eating Spaghetti as I started this video... MR SPAGHET
3:07 RCE is basically Kevin Bacon at the end of the first Tremors movie lol
