The fun part of being a cloaker isn't outgunning people, it's outsmarting them. If you're a crack shot with a sniper rifle and you can consistently plant headshots on mfers in firefights while they're weaving about trying not to get hit, great. But if not, a lot of the gameplay is (as Zealous says) about positioning, about planning, about surprising people. The other classes are better at going into firefights head first, but infils are the best at thinking tactically, turning flanks, getting behind the lines, drawing firepower away from firefights, and making opps doubt themselves.
i'm not a pro smg infiltrator but i can give u another 3 more tips just to improve everyone else effective with this class. - Put ur damn finger out of the Q key, you spot enemy = alert everyone "OI!!!! I'M HERE COME AND SHOOT ME!" - Dont spam cloak, your cloak sound will reveal ur position aswell. - Always shoot ur motion dot to the area u gonna att, radar awareness is key for every good infiltrator.
I've been called a hacker multiple times for killing infill that spot me. It's actually hilarious how many people don't know that enemies can hear you shouting and decloaking.

I love the varieties of the playstyle for Infiltrator. Your killing sprees really showcase the fun of catching people offguard and getting away like a robber lol. It can also really shine when playing an objective or to support a squad. I feel so cool and useful when I save a guy from a Light Assault that he couldn’t have seen, or assisting an ally in a gunfight while they exchange fire with the enemy. This and the repositioning you mention makes me love this class. Great guide btw-really reinforced that need to be diligent in MOVING
It's strange that they allow you to infiltrate so much. When I'm playing against some fairly... "frequent" players, I usually get shot without even coming out of invisibility from unbearable distances, only in the head, and if I do come out of invisibility, they automatically headshot me even if they're facing the other way.
On Miller I fight with infils that can overshoot heavy in face to face combat. Wild bolt flicks + knife combination. Spamming daimyo in cqc and hitting head. Chain killing with cyclone 3-4 people in a row and nobody can't even understand what happened (except me).
thanks for the vid. i was wondering how much a bad to poor internet connection effects your fighting? idk if its my skill but i dont seem to get the first shot in a lot of the time and lose even advantaged 1v1s. also asking about its effect on my peeks. i cant do much about the connection its just the location i live at.
it could be the latency so as with many others just never stop moving , always prefire around corners bc the other player is actually there just not on your screen yet bc of the latency issue.
Man when I see like multiple people in front of me when I got the flank on them my aim just get shaky and couldn't get even a single kill. Also make one for LA as well pls :P
Lol feels like people underestimate the smg infil. Haven’t been killed by one in what feels like a while but regardless it’s still effective. Old thoughts were that nano armor cloak doesn’t provide enough effective resistance while running away to warrant its choice over the longer lasting default did they change it?
Regarding Nanocloak, I don’t know if they buffed it but it still feels underwhelming to me imo-both in damage reduction and duration; could be a skill issue. Some of the maps I used it on also had some pretty open angles that let them enage me from a distance which made it SO much worse.
Other than competitive scenarios I dont see the point on playing the game with potato looking settings just to have a higher k/d. Many people stay away from planetside 2 because they dont like how it looks, and thats because most people who upload content play with potato settings.
For smg infil I would say using adrenaline pump as proven more useful, than advanced shield capacitor. you just don't have time to really stop moving, when your cloak is constantly draining.
@konstantinos kapsianis for bolts: Tsar, Sasr, and the Ghost. You don't have to hold breath, and they have the fastest chamber time to make follow-up shots if you miss. If you need something higher than 4x magnification, then any other bolt works, but default is probably your best bet.
i dont play inf this way. i hunter cloak with speed increases and advanced cloaking module for 75% reduction in cloak visibility. virtually undetectable even 5 feet from an enemy. no death only kills. you cannot kill me. im too fast and too invisible. ill hack everything in a base in less than 3 min.and if you try to track me you will die as i set many traps in my paths. Now with the new update be weary of medium graphics quality drop down box, for it incorrectly masks the cloak alpha against animated backgrounds like .gifs on computer screens. as for sniping i snipe as engineer only with a dragoon and i take out infiltrators all day long with it. dont misuse classes.. just because its infiltrator doesnt mean its the class you should snipe with. remember the name 'infiltrator' so infiltrate instead of standing on a hilltop away from battle like a bish. ill snipe your azz down
Another one, I saw a man who shouted that scout rifles for the infiltrator should be banned when you lower that by banning you only shorten the gameplay?

Nice video. Recently, moved from Heavy to Infiltrator CQC with Sirius. Enjoy it quiet much. Big clip, good rpm and I actually drop heavy so fast.

There was a TR ammo pack on the floor. Ammo packs benefit all players, not just the faction of the person who dropped it
