+Greg's Garage For sure, you will do the rim of your steering-wheel! ...BTW, In a very near future, I will have the first video of a series on 'how to leather wrap a steering- wheel' using a practical method...everybody, could perform it ...it won't be necessary be an upholsterer or have experience. This video would be 'for sale' in the new website my son is getting ready.
jimmydiresta Thanks Jimmy. It's all about discovering the possibilities so I can expand my design language in the next project. You are a big part of my learning what's possible for the guy in the garage trying to make kick ass stuff. Respect.
kyle green It's a LOT of work to wrap a steering wheel, but well worth the effort. I'll have a video of the rest of the wheel wrapping as my first Thursday video for September. I believe that will be on the 3rd.
johnsont963 Yep. You can surprise the guys at work with that one. WAY stretchier than vinyl when you do this... It takes awhile, but it's totally worth it.
Chris Fredriksson Thanks! Cechaflo has done a phenomenal job teaching guys like me how to do this type of thing. I couldn't be happier with the results.
You're gonna laugh Greg.. I've just been trying to work out how to do this and you came up first in Google:-) Awesome video dude! Forgot how cool this car was:-)
+Woodeso's Guitar Mods Oh yeah!!! That's why I make these vids... It took me about 3 years to find the answer to this. You can also use a heat gun to help, but the secret sauce is def the cat's potatoes.
Ive got some Sparco race seats that I plan on re covering in the pinapple cloth material, but I want to do a black and blue scheme to match my stock seats. Ive seen Cecheflo's channel before.
JohnCarey1963Jag It was not hard. It just takes a bit of persistence to get the leather to stretch well everywhere... I pounded all the nails in 3-4 times each and kept stretching everything taut. The embossing was a combo of stretching and gluing. Again, just an attention to detail situation.
I probably haven't read through these comments properly to find the answer to this. But what's the purpose/benefit of the ingredients in the fluid you spray onto the leather first. I know it has to be soaked to stretch etc, but why those liquids?
Hi Greg, Impressive job, man!!! ...you did it!!! ...I'm very glad you have found my 'stretching technique' useful!
Cechaflo I've been stuck on this project for over a year... I can't say thanks enough! Now I've got to get the rest of the wheel done!

Hi Greg, great video. How long must you wait with wet leather to have 3D shape before removing nails? Please answer 🙂
I let it dry over night.
Secret sauce and your video made it look pretty simple. Was it easy or hard to do in reality?
JohnCarey1963Jag It was not hard. It just takes a bit of persistence to get the leather to stretch well everywhere... I pounded all the nails in 3-4 times each and kept stretching everything taut. The embossing was a combo of stretching and gluing. Again, just an attention to detail situation.

+Rob Hurley I don't know... They relax the material. Cechflo's channel may have more detail on it about the "secret fluid"
