You haven't read Akira? How can you be a fan and not have read it? That's insane. The manga is so much more than the anime. It's far, far better and the anime cuts out so much and changes huge amounts of things in order to fit it into one movie. Really the anime is basically just a promo for the manga.

Gabe Infinity Watch Not criticizing! Just genuinely amazed that someone who's enough of a fan to own the soundtrack hadn't got around to reading the manga.
Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it. It's phenomenal and you won't believe how much more there is in it. The anime can't compare to Otomo's artwork and there's so much detail in every panel that you can pick up so much more if you pay attention.

Awesome collection! I skipped because I already have the books but I might get it, if I can...LOL
I thought my box was the only one with wavy book sleeves but I see yours are also a bit wavy, not complaining though, everything in this box seems of good quality and built to last a lifetime, so cool to have it on hardcover.

dunno, I live in sweden but bought it through amazon spain, I have seen more reviews after yours and all of them seems to have the same issue, nobody seems to care anyway.

I hope you enjoyed it man! The movie amazing but it honestly is more like a preview for the epic that is the manga. I believe the movie adapts most of the first book and kind of the ending. Other than that, the manga is a completely different experience and wasn't finished until years after the movie was released. This is such a great collection to have as well. Finally we get original artwork with right to left reading format. Hardcover books with really nice paper and great bindings. Kodansha did an awesome job with this release. Akira club was like the cherry on top!

i'm super pissed about my original purchase of 158.99 which went down to 116.45!! guess i'll have to repurchase that one and send the one i already bought back to Amazon for a full refund!
