Forest cats can get quite large, pretty close to the size of Maine Coons. Unlike the Maine Coon, they have a narrower face structure, and they usually have thicker and sleeker coats. There are a few subtle differences, but they are otherwise similar.
In our history around year 1100, Birkerbeinere did save our baby king by skiing him from Trondheim to south Norway and did get him over to sweden. There are movies and books this historie.

The NFC's (cats) are very real. I have an NFC/housecat mix and she's huge. She looks mostly like a regular housecat but she has longer legs, longer and wider tail and she's 12 kg's at her heaviest, during mid-winter. A little above average even for the NFC's, never the less, her mother was one. She get's bushier over winter but still quite agile, which is typical for the race.

About the snowday ... yes I do remember it was worse before here in Norway, as a young child my town where hit by a bad blizzard for several days ... and when it was over it took 3 weeks to dig the town out of the snow to some kind of normality. But did we not go to school ? NOOO we had to go at school even while the blizzard was happening. I remember holding on to my mom as she was following me to the school (her job was next to the school anyway), as we walked on top of the snow the roads where closed with too much snow. in some houses people had to climb out of their second floor to get out of the house as first floor was snowed down. Been a while since we had that much snow .... hehe it was also back then pretty shady electric powerlines so they broke down quite often during winter, you just had to prepare for several days without electric power during winters.

About the road: it is quit notmal in the north part of scandinavia you can accually se one of the rads getting opend for spring. Search for vildmarksvägen, sweden. The snowwalls after opening the road is about 6 m. It is exiting to see.

Yes there is wild animals in norway, but unless you plan on going off the beaten path in the middle of nowhere alone for a swim, i doubt you need to worry about it. Most populated places and normal frequently bathing areas are safe.
There are Norwegian Forest cats, bigger than "ordinary" cats, but the one here, is most likely a HUGE american cat Maine Coon. The forest cat is about 2/3 of the size of a MC. What's special w the NFC, is it can climb head down a tree, and their ability to survive the harsh climate. It's not a wall of ice, it's a wall of snow. It is about the snow depth on some mountain passes here...but here where I live (centtral East-Norway) we only have like 4 0r 5 feet. I live in a place that get a lot of snow to be in this part of the country.

About the snowday ... yes I do remember it was worse before here in Norway, as a young child my town where hit by a bad blizzard for several days ... and when it was over it took 3 weeks to dig the town out of the snow to some kind of normality. But did we not go to school ? NOOO we had to go at school even while the blizzard was happening. I remember holding on to my mom as she was following me to the school (her job was next to the school anyway), as we walked on top of the snow the roads where closed with too much snow. in some houses people had to climb out of their second floor to get out of the house as first floor was snowed down.
Been a while since we had that much snow .... hehe it was also back then pretty shady electric powerlines so they broke down quite often during winter, you just had to prepare for several days without electric power during winters.

About the road: it is quit notmal in the north part of scandinavia you can accually se one of the rads getting opend for spring. Search for vildmarksvägen, sweden. The snowwalls after opening the road is about 6 m. It is exiting to see.

Polarbears are just in Svalbard (an island further north than mainland Norway). So unless you live there you are very unlikely to run into wild polar bears in Norway.

The Norwegian air force (11:12) mostly uses F-35s, which are somewhat bigger than the planes in the picture, but also less elegant. Weirdly, though, the picture probably is from pilot training, either for formation flying or for basic maneuvers. Running around gives a better spatial awareness than a simulator, is cheaper than both simulator time and air time, and is a shitload safer than putting a trainee in a $400 billion plane. It also allows face-to-face communication, time out for talking (can't spend simulator time on that), and exclusive focus on the movement of the plane (rather than technical procedures). The silly little plane is needed to indicate the position and angle of the plane in the maneuvers, and must be large enough that the "pilot" views it from "inside", for proper visualization of the maneuvers. Damn! My cat barely weighs in at 8 kg (17.5 lb)! That beast has to be at least twice that! Even accounting for some photo manipulation and a lot of hair, it's definitely a big cat. From the angle, it's hard to tell if it's the face of a Maine coon or a Norwegian forest cat. While Norwegian forest cats can get large (mine is a _skinny_ 8 kg), Maine coons are generally bigger, with some being outright gigantic. My money is on that being a mislabeled Maine coon, which is an American breed. Both are natural breeds, i.e. arose without being deliberately bred by humans, are adapted to cold climate, and they're speculated to be related.

Yes there is wild animals in norway, but unless you plan on going off the beaten path in the middle of nowhere alone for a swim, i doubt you need to worry about it. Most populated places and normal frequently bathing areas are safe.
There are Norwegian Forest cats, bigger than "ordinary" cats, but the one here, is most likely a HUGE american cat Maine Coon.
The forest cat is about 2/3 of the size of a MC. What's special w the NFC, is it can climb head down a tree, and their ability to survive the harsh climate.
