Love that he could articulate the anxiety he was feeling and to justify to an audience that just because he knows there are no monsters doesn't mean he can stop feeling it, and to put out an ask to his mum to help him try something else!
@@ShadowofAstarael thanks so much, yes I always want him to feel safe to express his feelings without judgment and to know that we are here for him and that his feelings are valid ♥️♥️
@@riannevandenberg58 thanks so much! Yeah, I don’t want him to be too attached to stuff like I was, it will just make it easier for him to save/invest his money, and to not keep things longer than he actually uses them hahahahaha
I'm happy to report that monsters don't exist! It's a very common fear for kids (and even adults) so he is definitely not alone in that. It was so smart of your son to think of the floor bed solution to that problem! It's also great that you were able to repurpose your floor desk prototype in his room!
This is wonderful. Your son is very smart to see the value in trying new things, getting rid of unnecessary things, and being able to actually make decisions. Many young people never learn these skills until they are grown ups who have moved to their own place. His room “before” was surprisingly neat, but the new arrangement looks very cool. No monsters can get under that bed! I like seeing a kid’s room that is not crammed with toys. Your son has made empty spaces for new thoughts, new attitudes and new adventures. He looked pretty happy with the new room re-set. Best wishes to him. ❤️
Thanks so much! Yeah he doesn't have too many knick knacks compared to when he was younger. He likes creating monsters with his 3d printer so that's what kinda ends up piling up over time but then he gives them away every few weeks so at least that prevents a long-term pile up HAHAHAHAHAHA. We like having less stuff in general so that when things do get cluttered, it's easy to remedy. Thanks so much for watching!!
William is very smart, funny, and adorable!❤ You'll have to give us updates on how he likes it. I personally think he's going to love it! I have to draw the line on the cold plunge. I just can't. I was so proud of Harper for doing it though! That dismount and just "hanging around" makes me smile. Great video, Tasha!
You are doing good things by teaching your kids to declutter and not have so much stuff. My mom is currently thinking about going into an assisted living place and I honestly am NOT so NOT looking forward to dealing with all of her stuff. I dont blame your son for not getting rid of Larry. Larry is cool. Loving the cold chiller. Might have to do that besides just finishing my shower on the cooler side.
Okay fine, Larry is cool LOL. Yeah I don't want my kids to deal with a bunch of my stuff when me and my husband are gone... I had to do that when my dad passed, on top of the grief process. The cold chiller is awesome, it definitely is a level up from cold showers, but cold showers are a nice touch too!!! Thanks for watching!
I've heard all the great benefits of cold plunge. Maybe in my younger days I would have tried it. I would need a few medical personnel to get me in and out of one now - ha ha ha. Pretty cool your son wants to do what mom's doing with the bed & desk.
Lolol it was so funny that he kept thinking about that delicious tilapia dinner the whole time!! This looks like so much fun. Your son is so fun and precious. It makes me excited to do little projects with my kiddo when he is older 🥹
he lives and dies by that tilapia LOLLLL. thanks, he'll be thrilled to read your comment, and yeah you're going to have so much fun with your little one :)
Such a lovely video and so inspiring to see him so honestly evaluate things "it doesn't float so... that's why i dont use it" - i need to go through my stuff with that clarity :) Lovely to have his voice throughout :)
Goodness, my husband has expressed an interest in an ice machine. Initially I hated the idea, but now I see an opportunity to try ice baths 😂 Cute video, love that your son saw the cool things you've been doing and thought, "Yes, that is a fantastic solution. Let's do it." That's one thoughtful and resourceful kid! 😉

He's so sweet. I was scared of monsters under the bed until I was way older than him. I don't think I slept with my hands hanging over the bed until I was an adult. Don't tell him that part. ;) And can I come over for your Mom's tilapia? YUM!
That boat looks like a benchy; Someone in the house getting into 3d printing? (I just picked up the hobby myself a few months ago after my own minimalism journey and it's so nice to make bespoke organization/holders to contain/display the things I really do love)

Hahahahaha he is fine with everything. He likes sitting and sleeping on the floor so he’s got no complaints :) He still has a regular standing desk for himself but if I get to try out another floor to standing desk, he will take one hahaha! I don’t know if I can get him to do an interview hahaha we shall see :)
