Solo Riding the entire Moreton Bay Cycleway #4 // The Redcliffe Peninsula

The MBC is a route made up of cycleway sections, many interlinking roads, esplanades, streets, and footpaths. This circles around the entire south eastern coastline of Moreton Bay and I have tracked it to be a total of 210kms in distance according to my route.
I rode this from start to finish over 4 days and I have divided it up into 5 stages as follows:
Stage 1: Point Talbupin, Redland Bay to Cleveland Lighthouse (37kms)
Stage 2: Cleveland CBD to Queensport Rocks, Gateway Bridges (44kms)
Stage 3: Gateway Bridges to Hornibrook Bridge, Brighton (44kms)
Stage 4: Hornibrook Bridge, Brighton to Bruce Highway, Burpengary East via Redcliffe Peninsula (41kms)
Stage 5: Bruce Highway, Burpengary East to Bribie Island (44kms)

Hey Mate
The kids and I caught the train to Sandgate with the bikes once(a long time ago).
We rode all the way to Redcliffe, Stopped there, and all remarked how easy it was, and how fit we were.
Then we turned around to ride back only to realise we has about 15 Knots of tailwind, which was now a headwind,
It took us 2 hours to get back, they (and me) were all stuffed and fell asleep on the train back to Ippy.
It was a great day out and they all still remember it.

I used to do the trip from Bracken Rridge to Scarborough most Sundays a few years ago, got a new bike so I'll be back on the track again. You missed the BEE GEES arcade in Redcliffe. The cafe at Scarborough is a new one, the old one was a normal shop where a Hamburger cost less than 10 dollars, now it's 20 dollars.

I can just remember my parents paying the toll to cross the old Hornibrook HW. A bumpy old low lying bridge that one. An old photo online with waves crashing over the road. Took my kids on a ride just before they demolished it. The Houghton HW was sketchy to cross on a bike with just a small concrete lip to separate you from the cars. Narrow too before it was widen a bit. The Ted Smout Bridge so much better and safer but still hot, long and boring running it in summer.

You didn't need to ride along that busy noisy Anzac road through Rothwell, you could have went into the Newport development, followed along Spinnaker Boulevard, through the AFL field and then cross Nathan road onto a nice pedestrian path (Morris Park) that goes along the whole coastal wetlands into Deception Bay
They seriously need to make atleast a pedestrian bridge from Burpengary East over the Caboolture river over to Beachmere, forcing people to go through Morayfield and Caboolture is the main thing that ruins this ride for me. Could try hitch hiking on a boat from Uhlmann road boat ramp to Beachmere boat ramp.
