By my figuring Blackberries are even better than raspberries:
    Glycemic index
Blackberry and raspberry have similar glycemic indices. Blackberry has a glycemic index of 25, whereas raspberry has a glycemic index of 26; the difference is by 1 unit. They are both classified as low glycemic index foods.
    Carbs
Blackberry has 14gm/cup compared to raspberry 15gm/cup. However, they are both below 4% of the daily value.
Raspberries have a bit more fiber and blackberries have more antioxidants.

For people who are addicted to sugar, Fructose rings the bell inside their brain. It's not safe for them at all - it triggers hunger and the desire for more and sweeter foods. It does that for everyone but some can ignore it better than others. I only eat a few berries once in a while, otherwise I'm out of my carb limit. And I would rather teach my body to crave non-sweet food as regular food and just encounter sweet things once in a while, rather than trying to game the system and see how much I can get away with.

Technically, the reason that grapefruit is a no-no for certain medications is that it contains flavonoids that knock out the cytochrome P-450 system in the body cells that is responsible for breaking down these drugs. This basically causes an overdose, in a way, since the concentration of drug in the blood becomes much higher than what it would normally be. So it’s not so much that the grapefruit lowers the blood pressure on its own as that it basically causes the medication to work “too well.”

Dried sorrel flowers a product of Egypt , also called roselle ( not hibiscus ) which are produced by Semaj help in lowering blood glucose. I use it as a tea, water and juice and get great results . Here in the Caribbean freshly picked sorrel is used as a drink around Christmas time since it is grown here. However it is used with lots of added sugar since it is very acid.

Fructose is still sweet. You still get that sweet craving and hunger spikes specially when doing intermittent or longer term fasts. After you get over that hunger spike tough when fasting it’s ok but still a hassle when on a long term fast. When I removed all fruit and carbs and went the carnivore route... fasting is much easier, no more hunger spikes on that fasting time except in cases where I get stressed or have gone thru a rigorous activity or exercise. Still hunger spike is a lot easier to ignore on carnivore. I have my twice a month healthy low oxalate carb refeed days though.

I saw a presentation from Robert lustig on fructose and how 100 % of it is metabolize by the liver, leading to uric acid build up and direct conversation of the rest to fat (in a way that muscles can't burn in advance) . Can you comment on how many if these you could say eat together, before that would be a problem? If you for example had the Cherries, would you not eat half the Apple?

All three do contain oxalates, but I don’t believe they’re considered extremely high in them compared to some other foods. Consuming more calcium in the diet can bind excess oxalate and help prevent certain types of kidney stone formation, especially if enough fluids are consumed as well. Not all kidney stones are comprised of oxalate, though. Just something to be aware of.

You are an amazing encyclopedia of medical and nutritional terms!! I’m so impressed and grateful to receive your knowledge
In my own research I’ve read that fruit is alkaline and does not digest in the stomach but goes right to the lower intestine without any effort. But when it’s mixed with anything else it becomes acidic So eating cherries after a starch, will it cause them to ferment?
I’ve been making an all fruit smoothie with water for decades. About half the blender glass of fruit the rest water. Is this too much?? I’m 63 6’ 155 and feel great

Sour cherries are great for arthritis idk about weight/diet though. Fruits should digest faster, at least watermelon (and maybe like canteloupes? than other foods. Eat fruits b4 a meal def not after meats, we were told ❤

frget abut this alkaline myth, as distributed by new age nutrionists. It does not make any sense, since all fruits contain acids.
the only possible mechanism would be that the body does not need to create as much acid by itself in the stomach, saving a bit f energy, and preventing a tine little bit of oxidative stress. Some organic acids mat make it into the guts, where the help regulate pH. But all this is the opposite of being "alkaline".

I regularly eat 300+ grams of carbs from fruit daily. This has been the only thing that began to heal my intestinal issues and also reversed my insulin resistance in weeks. I also consume fatty meat, just in seperate meals from the fruit. I think youll be ok, as long as you consume healthy fatty acids in seperate meals as the fruit

    • @monnoo8221
      @monnoo8221 ปีที่แล้ว

@@bannanaization 300gr carbs from fruit does not say much. The positive carbs are pektins, soluble fibers, and polyphenols, the negaive part is fructose. So, masswise you could ingest up to 200 gr fructose, dependent on the fruits. Fructose is ALWAYS first metabolized into fat.
So by that you may improve the sensitivity to insulin, at the cost of a fatty liver.
Additionally, you have to care about pesticides that are usually found in the peel.
Furthermore, you limit the effect if you et fruits all day long with short breaks only. 300gr carbs is around 1.5 kg fruit... S, you literally have no pause at all.
I think, a good scheduling with 14:10 .. 16:8 is much more sustainable.
