Haven’t seen everything yet just seen you try to let the ai use the the auto cannons on the razor bill. You said you dont thing that the plan will hit anything then as well. But the plane will actually hit better then the heli with the cannons. The strongest is using the heli with the cannons manually.
Maybe dive-bombing works? It's exciting at least. That helicopter was really powerful. Maybe it doesn't need both guns? Challenge ideas if the game isn't hard enough already: 1. Capture a nearby island while maintaining steady course and speed for the carrier (can be slow but not stopped). 2. Capture an island without manually controlling vehicles (or as much as is possible). Looking forward to seeing some higher tier islands or the enemy carrier give your forces a real threat.
Yes I'm keen to try some dive bombing, I hardly use the second plane anyway so I've got a spare if I end up crashing it :) From my initial playthrough, I know that the difficulty ramps up significantly when you get to 3 shield islands. These islands sometimes have multiple swordfish ships which in this build of the game is overpowered and very difficult to take out. I'm sure it'll get balanced in the next patch though.
I'm enjoying the series so far but seems like it could get too hectic as a single player experience. Keep them coming though as it's making me take another look at the game. You might like to take a look at an old game similar to this Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising. Highly recommend it and the AI can shoot straight :)
Thanks I'll check it out! Yeah I appreciate that there's an incentive for the player to take manual control, manual control should be more accurate but the gap is too big right now. The AI's aim is so bad that there's no point in sending it in to do bombing runs or strafing with autocannons.
Not sure if you have done booming runs because I haven’t finished or caught up to the end of the series so far. I tried it and the AI is not good, now doing it yourself is a bit tricky but it’s so able I took out two seals in my last play through the first go. Down side is you have to fly extremely low and can get shredded quickly if not careful so I recommend you flying out yourself to evade.
I did try bombing at some point in the series, although initially I didn't quite have it figured out. Recently I tried it again and saw that it can be an effective way of dealing with AA guns as well if you stay outside their reach. I had the same experience though where it's clear that the AI can't effectively do bombing or strafing, it's best to take manual control for that.

Can you fall into the sea?
Good question, I've never tried. I think you can teleport back to the bridge if you do happen to stray to far from it.
