That history of WCW nitro episode prior to relaunch basically covered Hulks debut in WCW, Lexs return, Hall and Nashs debut, Hulk turning heel, cruiserweight highlights and the rise of Goldberg iirc
I know Cornette does this every year but we need an Omnibus "Best Of" of all the Bluechew advertisements cause this one with Sid & the concussion had me do a spit take
The only time a situation where you could pin your partner in a tag situation and get away with it MAYBE, is in one of those 3 way Dance tag matches where someone from the other two teams tagged in both members of the 3rd team involved. The NAOs and the Outsiders did so a few years earlier than 2000
Ya know growing up I used to not like Jeff Jarrett but looking back now his best match was against hbk ic belt loved his work in Tna especially his storyline with Kurt angle retirement match against sting etc and he really went out of his way to make a young aj styles and gave r truth an opportunity in the main event respect to jeff for that always liked Ron killings
So Conrad, you think Hogan decided to get pinned by Sid in that tag team match instead of Scott and Jeff because he didn't want to lose to Jeff or Scott?? The reason is because the story will start between Hougen and Sid, and there will be a match between them at the next PPV for the World Championship. Hogan agreed to lose to Kidman and Vampire, so enough nonsense 01:19:41
Conrad has said on one of his other shows when discussing the sign ups that not every sign up is going to buy tickets and that it’s probably optimistic that half of the sign ups will actually buy tickets. But he has also pointed out that of people who do buy tickets they’re probably not just buying one individual ticket. Which is not some wild observation. Whenever I buy tickets for an event I usually always am buying two - one for me and one for my wife. So saying that 20,000 of the 50,000 sign ups may actually buy tickets and of those 20,000 it’ll probably average out to 2 per is really not a wild prediction to make. Some people are so hopeful for this event to flop that they’re acting like very run of the mill things happening are some absurd thing to predict.
Really wish WWE would bring back WCW by turning the smackdown brand into the new WCW(bring back the big gold belt). the brands need more separation and that does it, finally allowing the brands to compete against each other to one up the other
..split it as WCW completely meaning keep the roster intact mainly always or leave it...this brand split shite is horrible, and the draft just useless cringe shite
When it comes to story vs matches. I have tried to watch All Japan from the 80s and 90s. There is no doubt that the in ring action is top notch. You can't ask for better matches. But i have a hard time paying close attention to what I am watching. Part of it is a language barrier but the other part is that 80s and 90s All Japan lacks stories and characters. At least that is immediately identifiable without going to do some research. Everyone's character is wrestler. Usually in black tights and black boots. The stories involve who won in other matches. It is all there in the ring. Promos barely exists. There are no personal issues that don't involve the in ring action. Maybe I'm just too used to American wrestling.
Russo coming out being recognized as the writer was a huge misstep. If he had been packaged as the match maker instead of writer, it would have made more sense without ruining the illusion of watching a pretend sport
I glad Jeff Jarrett won WCW world's heavyweight championship. It's bad booking the card . So stupid WCW booked this crap. Vince Russo didn't have no business running WCW or writing period .but bring eric bischoff back was big mistake was bad idea. Time didn't want WCW wrestling wasn't fan. They screw Ted Turner over damm shame he blindsided. But great podcast Jeff Jarrett and Conrad Thompson awesome
11:10 if you are here for the actual topic. Got your back, guys

"(Jeff Jarrett) was a great wrestler, could talk, get heat, and he was dependable."

Very entertaining and informative these podcasts
Road Dogg is a better sports entertainer than most people I hear.

Conrad really trying to say AEW has 50,000 sign ups and those 50,000 want 2 or 4 tickets each? 😆😆😆 Conrad is definitely drinking Tony's Kool aid.

Dave Meltzer lied again. Jeff was hitting Hogan at the start of the match and Dave says Hogan didn't sell anything ??? 1:17:50
Great episode fellas
A wild slapnuts appears
I'm one of the few people who ordered Super Brawl 2000.
Greatest of all time?
There's no $ in matches Slapnuts!
Slapnuts should be AEW World Champion instead of mid guy MJF 😮
Brock Lesnar stole Jeff Jarrett Hat and Coat last night on Raw
I have a VHS Boxset of wcw which was superbrawl 2000 to great American 2000 it's incredible to see the decline in just those few months
Sorry you wasted the money

The problem is, its still going to be a WWE-WcW, not a WcW-WcW....itll be just like WWE-ECW ended up....
@@cob2076 yup. It'd be WCW in name only
..split it as WCW completely meaning keep the roster intact mainly always or leave it...this brand split shite is horrible, and the draft just useless cringe shite

Your friend and mine…

But Russo couldn't have lived without telling everyone he was the supermastermind of ALL
