First things first, Con and Taika absolutely kill this scene. The eye contact alone! There are so many layers in that short scene. When i first saw it I thought it was self-centered self destructive Edward trying to make Izzy do one last kill because he still couldn't. But in a messed up way i see it as Blackbeard thinking"kill two birds with one stone." He gets to end his suffering, and he gets to give his death to Izzy as a penance for the monster they both turned Blackbeard into. He is so harsh in his tone, callously joking about the leg he took from him, and yet he looks almost fondly at Izzy. Wistful. You see affection when he looks at Izzy. Izzy is devasting in this scene. The pain, the resignation, the final fuck you (go Izzy!) the longing...wow!
I know Ed's at his most toxic self in this scene... But oh my f@cking God, he's so goddamn gorgeous, that I cannot... I'd be at the court room swearing on my life he did nothing wrong 🫠
Thank you so much for this! It’s been driving me nuts not knowing! This is one of my favorite scenes in all of s2 and the music fits the emotion of it perfectly. I wish I could find this exact version of the song out in the wild. The combination of instruments makes the song sound so rich. ALL of the Emmys to Taika and Con for this season!
@@Kaimeretic I fell in love with this song and Shazammed it after watching this single scene 5 times in a row. The exact version is the 1990 Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra & Libor Pesek ☺️

Sailing expertise nil, though. ... He moves the steering wheel, and the sails don't even flutter ... ! 😂😂😂 Sorry to remind you, guys, but sailing has got something to do with wind, in the first place ...

Taika is a smokeshow in this show, it’s insane.
Wisps of hair framing his face
Con's acting here is top-notch. 0:33 1:26 1:47 he's just fucking murdering it this season
GIVE CON O'NEIL A FUCKING EMMY FOR THIS SCENE ALONE
Con absolutely killed it
The mania and depression displayed in this scene is insane. Amazing acting.
I could not focus in this scene cause Ed looks so good
I loved you..... Best I could...
Not a big Izzy fan but he should've heard that. He's mean and violent and bad for him but I think he does love Blackbeard
Does anybody know what music was playing during the scene where Ed told izzy about his dream?
The piece is called “allegretto”
It's the second movement from Beethoven's seventh symphony
Thank you so much for this! It’s been driving me nuts not knowing!

Oh no, throw the show in the bin
Acting. Writing. Character dynamics and growth. 🤌🤌🤌
