I fucking love how Pretty much everyone decided, when they saw this angry little man who we obviously were supposed to hate, and went “him, I want him”
I pretty much disliked him for the first 2 episodes, and then I realised he is the only pirate that actually makes any sense at all. It does help that his character development is more than the main characters had, combined.
I can't believe how much my opinion on him has changed. The first season 1 I dispised him and everytime he comes on screen in season 2 I'm like "gorgeous baby awful little angry man that I would die for". I love him so much now I can't believe it.

The story of a sad wet man who let himself be abused because his degradation/torture kink 😔 he thought that letting himself be mistreated was the only way to get the kind of attention he wanted, when really he needs someone who will treat him well and indulge him in a consenting and safe environment

Finale spoilers: As devastated as I am, I will say, I do think dying for the crew is a part of his arc. He tells Ed “I’m not dying (for Stede) and I’m not dying for you” but in the end, he dies for the crew because he’s found his family and his safety with them. He accepts Ed, not just Blackbeard, he’s taught Stede important skills to keep the crew and himself alive, and he’s at peace with himself. It’s not bad writing, it was all there, it just makes us sad ❤
I do think is a bit f bad writing, it was there but it wasn't properly developed, so it felt rushed and uncalled for. Since the threat wasn't personal enough it felt random. We definitely needed two more episodes. Sorry if there's mistakes English is not my first language.
I do wish Izzy sacrificed himself to either save Stede or someone else on the crew like Wee John, Roach, Lucius, or Frenchie. Instead he got shot because they didn’t think to check Prince Pinocchio for weapons.
