Ontop of that he had a horrific story offscreen that scared thim..and the show kinda makes him look like hes over dramatic..no. And him pushin Ed off the ship is NOT the same- Ed knew he could get back on. Lucious couldnt or even swim!

no but this is a perfect scene if I've ever seen one, the pining, the emotions, the music, the way ed tries to look like he doesn't think it's a big deal stede is offering him to go back to the ship, the way stede stumbles in his excitement and then has to come back and he accepts the fact buttons is now a bird because all he cares about is taking ed back home with him 😭

Man this show had some seriously good moments... Unfortunately, it felt like trying to clean diamonds out of a pile of shit, but, this moment is one of the brightest diamonds by far I think.

I just realised, this links to the moment in the ending of episode 5(?) after they’ve left Mary and Anne’s place, and Ed is going back to the Revenge with Stede, the song ‘Seabird’ starts playing, and one of the lines is ‘Seabird you’ve been away from home for too long’ 😭😭

Today I listened to Seabird and remembered this scene, just Izzy's smile alone helped me remember that hope and healing is possible and to keep going <3

Damn, why did I think Izzy’s monologue was three minutes long? It impacted me so much emotionally I had remembered it much, much longer than a few sentences. Just how powerful those few sentences were, I guess! Life this show.

People underestimate the responsibility and power of the screenwriter. To have a vision, then try to accurately describe that vision on paper, then have an actor reproduce that vision and finally for a viewer to feel that vision is a feat that is hard to accomplish as effectively as it done in this scene.

Okay, I’ll admit I’m not the hugest Izzy fan and neither was my partner when they started watching the show. In fact, they hated him lol. Never liked Izzy and how he treated the crew and especially Ed in season 1. When we both started watching season 2, I was sorta taken aback by the whole vibe around it. The second season felt. off. I know im not the only one. I didn’t hate how they killed off Izzy. But I can see how it rubbed some people off the wrong way. And even I have to admit, I knew someone was gonna die, and I figured it would be Izzy, but the way it was executed just seemed. Eh??? Like did he really need to die?? After all the progress and development his character was getting in season 2??? Me n my partner were starting to love Izzy! It sucks how this show got cancelled abruptly. Could’ve gottten to see so much more. Season 2 felt like a pat on the back instead of a hug.

And just after we had the moonlight kiss scene. This episode was full hay euphoria

The song choice sealed it. From the moment the piano begins I was in tears.
