I LOVE IT!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME INNOVATION!!! YOU GUYS HAVE DONE YOUR HOMEWORK AND IT HAS PAID OFF BIG TIME!!!! I LOVE MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS!!!! YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR DRIVING EXPERIENCE!!!!
I am very interested in ordering one of these after the C3 Corvette version with the offset shifter after it's released. Can you tell me what I will need for any rear crossmember modifications or bracket adapters? My 80 4 speed C3 does not have the bolt in crossmember, it's solid all way across.
@@Thegaragefiles @Thegaragefiles It was just a base '70 Chevelle. (I mean 100% completely stock) Auto on the column. Sales rep said it would fit fine, but to get it high enough to get the drive line angle right with even just a stock rear-end meant the tunnel had to come out. The big bummer is it's an all original sheet metal car and the last thing I wanted to do was cut it up...then find out there's one a couple months later that may have saved me from doing that is what's the most frustrating. Oh well.
Let me know if you installed the TKO and what the shifting is like? I put one in my 67 mustang and I feel the shifting is notchy? Now I only have about 400 miles on it and have not yet changed the oil so maybe that has something to do with it but was wondering about your thoughts on this and if you have the same issue? It shifts but just notchy??
But can it handle it? I imagine if it can handle horsepower and torque that it could handle a little towing here or there. I don’t tow all the time but if I were to tow a little trailer or a load of scrap to the junkyard I’d like to have the peace of mind that the trans wouldn’t fail.
I have a tko600 installed in a 64 coupe behind a Ls. No fit problems with floor. I do however have a removable crossmember. Since tkx is smaller better fit👍
anyone know if this can be put in a 1975 FORD Hi-boy pickup, 460, 4x4? I thin it has a T-18/19, not sure, in there now. Want something that I can be able to drive it on the highway and lower the RPM's. Any advice appreciated. TY
@Ragingbull340 hopefully this is the case. We’d be saving ourselves money by going this route and not having to by a hydraulic clutch system. If it shifts smooth like a t56 I’m all in. Set me up for a 72 Mach 1
@Ragingbull340 does the hydraulic clutch feel better? Better engagement? Someone told me they were coming out with this one 4 months ago..so I waited! Glad I did too man

I am glad Josh called me letting me knw about this. I was working on a TKO and this will save room on my Chevy II
It looks good . I been planning on getting the tko 600 , but will be happy to go with this one . I have a 3rd gen fbody
Man I was about 2 buy 2 TKO DAMMNN!!! Covid made me hold off on the builds so glad I did and I had to cut flloor tunnels OMG sshhh
Looks GREAT! Should Fit in my 99 Mustang GT No Problem!
Literally just bought a 5 speed kit from American Powertrain for my 1973 Camaro. Wish I was at least told to wait...
Tremec made everyone keep it quiet. We didn’t even know the launch date till just a few weeks ago...Sorry
Sounds great, looks like lower height vs the old TKO. Will this fit in a 67-70 mustang without having clearance issues like the TKO did?
It can apparently fit in a 66 without any floor cutting. Which is impressive to say the least.
May consider this in the future. Wonder how compatible it would be with import engines such as the B58, RB26, 2JZ, etc.
Well I pulled the trigger and bought a tkx 5 speed for my mustang ! Hopefully it is everything they say it is
How much did it cost ?
Does it require a new bell? I hate my tko600 but I am squared away with a nice hydraulic clutch setup that mounts to the tko bosses
It’s bolts up just like a TKO crossmember too

I wish I would of waited one more month I didn’t know a new one was coming out, I just installed my tko and waiting for the driveline. Oh well
Yeah same here. Bought mine in July and ended up having to cut my entire tunnel out because the TKO-600 was too big.
@@mattinclemson what are you putting it in?
Tremec had to keep it under wraps. Nobody could talk about it.. Sorry!

Will this be a direct fit to a 460 bbf?
Will this fit a 2nd gen firebird without modifying the tunnel? I'm interested in swapping my ST-10 for this behind my Pontiac 400
does tremec make transmissions for Toyota pickups
Are the dimensions the same as a stock T56?
As in tailshaft length etc
its smaller than a T56.
Could i squeeze one of those in a 65 fairlane500?
Do these transmissions work for light towing? I’d be switching over from a 350 SBC/SM465 4 speed combo. My next motor will either be a built 355/383.
Not really designed for that

I was very interested until I saw the lack of a torque arm mount . I have a C4 corvette . Was going to move up from a 3550
@Ragingbull340 nope. TKX is now front load design. TKO is top load. A totally new transmission end to end
There will crossmembers coming out that have the torque arm mount. Don’t worry
@@AmericanPowertrain Awesome
I need something that holds power and uses the 1.6 Miata bolt pattern without using an adapter plate
Good luck
I was really close to buying a Tremec. But they told me it couldnt handle pulling a trailer.
How much do they cost ? Nobody ever says 🤷♂️. I got a Chevy K10 4x4 I want a 5 speed in
It's all on our website. $2795 and this trans is only designed for 2wd applications.
Looks amazing but concerned about quality coming out of Mexico
SUGGESTION: HOT ROD MAGAZINE!!!
Ηi,this gearbox is it good for quick gear changes at high revs about 7500-8000? thx
It says yes, I just saw another channel and they said they’ve successfully tested to 5500 with no problems.
@@DeathByLego The point is about 7500-8000!
@@ThanasisGR I was just telling you what they’ve already tested too dude

Ummmm so when is it going to be available?
They have been off and on since Jan. We have stock from time to time but they sell out quick. Just call us at 931-646-4836
How is the shifting compared to the tko600. Smoother?
Yes

@@DeathByLego at this point I think ima go with a t56 magnum for the 6th gear OD
Is 5th an overdrive or 1:1?
@Ragingbull340, Awesome! 👍🏻
What's it going to cost for just the trans
$2795
What is the cost
$2895
I wish I’d have waited 3 months to buy my TKO600, I could have had the new model. Its still sitting in the box...
@Dennis Teixeira TKO600
Cant want to install mine in my 67 c10
It looks much wider than the TKO.
LOL its def not
Sounds wonderful, but I have a feeling it’s worth more than my car is. So as much as I want it, it’s not looking very practical...
Looks bigger and heavier
Its not
It’s smaller and lighter. It weighs 96 pounds I think dry.
