  • With most of the big name free agents officially off the board it's time to talk expectations for the Indiana Pacers in the 2024-2025 NBA Season. Are the Pacers a championship level team or are they a team still trying to find themselves? This is will be the story of the Indiana Pacers this upcoming year. What players fit and what players don't.

    5th seed or higher, 2nd round exit should be the expectations record wise. The true expectation is clear internal development and defensive improvement. If they maintain a top 5 offensive rating and improve to 10th-12th in defensive rating that would be huge.

      They could never improve that much defensively when they've done nothing to improve the defense. Had they signed the right player's and knew how to select player's in the draft. Maybe they'd have a chance to improve. But they will be bad once again defensively and possibly a worse offensive rating. They fkd up this roster. I'm holding out hope for Mathurin to have a breakout season. I think he was ready to turn a corner before he went down. He was training so hard.. But the whole Pascal bs contract has ruined this team's chances. We're gonna be screwed moving forward.. They will lose multiple guy's because of a dude who can't shoot and despite his ability to read the defense. He has one of the worst Defensive ratings in the league.. Makes no sense. Could have had 3 great young player's. Traded Nembhard for a Caruso, signed Hartenstein. Possibly had an OG, or looked into a Markkenan trade. Had none of those worked, maybe they'd ended up with KCP. Lost out on our chance to get GG Jackson. Missed again this year on picks.. I feel like it's so obvious what the right moves were to make... They better come out playing well this season.. Pascal better be playing like a 45mil player too..

    Hey, I’ve been watching you now for a while. I think you have your shit together. After listening to today’s video, it put me in mind of something that could be really, really big for Pacers. Back in the day Bobbi Knights undefeated championship team. Those teams were similar to today’s current pacer team. (A lot of really great talent, not even close to the best) his answer, run run run! Unlike New York, this team can do it! I’m 70 and have been an avid fan all my life. I’ve always wondered why the hell doesn’t any NBA team just run the fuck out of the 1-2-3 superstar position thinking of today’s NBA.

    Absolutely agree, expectations for this team cannot be as high as what they achieved last year! Unless some of the talent consolidated due to a big trade and roles for Ben and Walker substantially increase due to there development this team is a 2nd round exit. It has a lot of talent but only a couple really top tier guys right now! I believe 2026 is the year for this squad!

    As much as I would hate to see it happen, we may have to work out a deal for Nembhart while his value is at his highest. Clearly he has the skill set to be a lead guard for a franchise in need of one.
    A lot had to go our way to get to the ECF this past season. Personally, I can see Indy getting a top 5 seed but will be tough to advance if the top teams are healthy.

    OKC, Grizzlies, Heat, Timberwolves, Celtics, Warriors and Mavs have all made moves lately that I agree with. I'm going to be watching them a lot more closely this year.
    Pacers were on the way to being the OKC of the East.. But they blew that chance when they traded for Pascal imo. I know everyone doesn't feel that way, but OKC picked up two of the guy's I wanted the Pacers to get. Hartenstein and Caruso.. Add any other SF to that. Whether OG, KCP, or Markkenan. With a Terrance Shannon Jr., Missi.. maybe traded the 3rd pick into next year's draft.. That said they could have had Klintman, Wells, Shead or Keshad Johnson. We'd been much better off, there was no reason to panick last year.

    Expectation should be to make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Celtics, Knicks, Sixers and Bucks are all better teams. We can't be delusional and not acknowledge that we got lucky making the ECF due to the Bucks missing Giannis and the Knicks missing 4 of their 5 starters

    I know you have a very logical perspective. But why do small market teams have to worry about going over the salary cap. Maybe next year is the year that the owner finally overpays which he has to. Oklahoma City thunder played in the finals. But they didn't find a way to keep James harden and look at them now. In 2004 the Pacers should have and could have traded for Rasheed Wallace but they didn't because they didn't want to spend any money and in the playoffs they lost to Guess who the Detroit Pistons with Rasheed Wallace who won the championship that year. The team is set for this year but for the next 2 years the owner needs to pay Turner TJ McConnell Nesmith. That should be the project for the 25/26 season and 26/27 season.

    • @fastbreakreport
      @fastbreakreport  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nesmith is already locked in for the next 3 years. But yes OKC chose not to play Harden and they're back now but that's only because they draft really well. Most teams don't let one best players walk and end up back in the playoffs as soon as OKC and that's only because they kept KD and Russ around.

    Pacers about to lose Turner and Obi, probably one of Walker or Nembhard as well.. a couple for cap reasons and a couple other's in some crappy trade.. That's what I'm worried about.. 🤦 One wrong move causes a domino affect of bs.. I hope that's not what happens. That said, this team desperately needs Mathurin to breakout. Which I believe he was about to take a huge stride. Because he was working out so hard before he went down. I hope they give him a real chance to ramp back up. He missed an entire half a season. So it might take towards the end of next season to get a good feel on his trajectory. I'm sure he will be much better this year to start .This team also needs Wiseman and either Obi or Walker to improve a lot. I think Obi will, because he's shown he can improve each year.. The dude is a phenomenal shooter also. No one talks about that enough, the dude can make about 65-70% of his shots. He's incredibly efficient, so whatever improvements he gives you on D is only that much better of a player.. and deserves more minutes.. I would have liked to have seen him and Walker have a real chance at minutes.. without the Pascal trade.. too late now tho. With all they have given up and about to give up.. They need some of these young guy's to hit. Wiseman is an I.Q thing and timing issue's. I believe if he's going to improve, Pacers are the best chance for him.. We will see what happens... Pascal better be one to improve his game alot by next season. He's the one making 45mil a year and will be the main reason we can't keep young talent and lose Turner.. Who I'd rather had, along with our picks this year and whoever else we could have signed... 🙇

    The Pacers are going to be cap strapped here in the next couple of years. The Pacers have a lot guards/small forwards. Turner is important to the offense because he's the best center on the team. I thought he was playing at a high level until he had the back injuries pop up against the Celtics. Don't be surprised if Nembhard gets traded in the next couple of years. Don't worry about the Pacers. It will come down to health. If Pascal Siakam, Haliburton and Turner stay healthy, I think the Pacers can be the 2nd best team in the East.
