I did a short TH-cam video to allow you to change your air filter without droping sand inside.
I am 180, 5’7 and best set up for me forks 7mm sag 104, but if i go on a sand track i drop the forks to 4mm. Bikes works perfectly with 11 hours.

Luckily I just had carpal tunnel surgery, currently on the mend! No more numb hands hopefully 😅

I’m coming from a 19 kX450 which was AWSOME. Can’t decide with the 23’ new YZF or the new 24’ KX. I hear that chassis is a similar feel to the previous gen.

Awesome review! I've got the 2022 YZ450FX and it's so easy to mod the map for any change you want to make and then upload it. I've got the full TI FMF system and it added a LOT of power with the gytr race airbox! At 250h / 4200Miles the valves were still in spec. I change the oil an filter about 20hrs!!!

I think I"d try laying the bike down quickly to remove the air filter. Nice review.

Thanks for the video. I related to you as soon as you said the seat is not comfortable. I bought a 2020 YZ250f back in 2020 and immediately realized the seat is way too hard. Now I am 65 years old so it could be just that I'm used to seats on old bikes growing up that were comfortable. Anyways Seat Concepts hooked me up with one of their comfort seats and all has been well since then.

Have you checked the valve clearance yet? I have a 23 with about 12 hours on it and it’s all of a sudden really hard to cold start. I can’t imagine it would need valve adjustment this early. I’m going to throw a new plug in it and make sure it’s torqued properly before I start taking stuff apart. I’m just bugged I’m having this issue so early after spending 12k on a bike.

Mine did the exact same thing. Was incredibly hard to cold start, then once it was warm would start perfect. One day it just quit doing it, starts first time everytime now. Have not had my valves checked, Im at 32 hours..

@@austin_not_boston that’s so strange. Still running the original spark plug? I absolutely love the bike other than the hard to start issue I’m currently dealing with.

@@gc5157 yup. Stock plug. Haven’t changed a thing in the motor besides oil/filter..

Had back fire on my 2020 when starting the bike sometimes and my mechanic told me at 60h that i had to change one valve. He was certain that the reason was the sand droping in my airbox. I would recommend you to check your valve before it goes to zero and make sure to keep the sand away from the airbox when you change your air filter. You can check my short video on how to avoid the sand here: th-cam.com/users/shortsh-OU1i8qPzs?feature=share
