Nice video, ever think of rigging a tripod collar arrangement for the P1000? The weight of the lens when fully extended makes is prone to vibration, or have you found that your velbon tripod platform is good enough for your needs?
Hi. This is Velbon DV-7000N tripod with pan head mount. I bought this tripod after I compared it with expensive fluid head Manfrotto tripod. The tripod which costs about £120 more than Velbon was better but not better enough to spent that money on it.

Hi. You can zoom by remote when making doing video. The reason why I use remote is because I dont want to scare the birds. Second reason bigger zoom means worse quality of video. So I can leave camera nearer birds and start recording when I ready at the best moment to do more attractive video.
Do you have to re-bind the remote every time you turn the camera on/off, or is it a one time setup? It would be a pain if you had to re-bind it every time.
I am having issues with the P1000 and thr Rode Video Mic pro. After I sent the mic to the factory for repair 3 times they tell me is the canera and when I called Nikon they say that it could be the mic is not compatible. Have you had any issues with the mic not working?
I've got the same microphone. I never thought it would be okay to use with this camera. Does this microphone pick up the zooming noise while it has the 'dead cat'? Did the remote came with the camera? It seems 38 birds disliked this video. LOL.
The remote does NOT work when the camera is connected to an HDMI monitor. I find this ridiculous. I even updated my P1000 to version 1.6 and it still did not work. Don't get this. Why?
I have never managed to get the Snapbridge app to work with my P1000. I've tried many times, once spending a few hours messing with everything. Very frustrating.

What is the benefit to using this over your cellphone with the free app?
Free app doen't work with Nikon Coolpix P1000, just with Nikon Coolpix P900

Download the Snap Bridge one.
Remote also has Video record option and gives you access to round mode dial and zoom.
