Thanks Tony, the style of architecture they used on this building is my favorite. Appropriate music too! You can only imagine what it was like living and working in that great old factory. Thanks so much Tony.

Thanks for the tour buddy. I loved seeing the old mill and hearing its history

Our family farm was covered by Keowee. I can remember many nights sitting on my grandparent's front porch and look down at the mill, the folks hard at work. Our farm went down to the Little River there and was somewhat close to the mill. Remember learning to swim there....

I'm surprised that they don't restore this building and refurbish it for like apartments or like a historical sis site or something and I sure do hate when places like this get tagged and all that nonsense graffiti they put all over the walls great video buddy

Lived in Newry 1974 to 1976 and remember the last ringing of the tower bell before it brought down and placed on a rail car to be taken away. Oscar Jones lived across Second Ave from me told me lots of stories about the mill in its heyday.
By that time most of the workers had been sold the houses the lived in.

Good news they have actually started working on refurbishing the mail and turning it into Apartments. Also talked about some extensive work in the town itself.
Project is expected to be completed by the end of the year

One thing that stands out about that textile mill, is the square smoke stack. Most mills had round smokestacks.

If you read about nafta, it really killed mills like this one in the south

If you look at some of my other videos you can see I've done a lot of old textile mills. The one about Loray mills is my favorite.
