I think that people should not be canceled for political speech, like suporting a political candidate, or political ideas (left to right), however when it comes to (proven) crime it's diferent, I don't know if if 'cancelling' is the right word, but its something like that.
In my opinion, cancel culture exists because in some contexts, it is necessary. We need to keep people on their toes and held accountable, however, LOADS of people cancel for the wrong reasons and push judgement on people unfairly. But that's just like anything else. Anything that can be used for good can also be used for evil or for selfish reasons.
To Cancel or Not to Cancel There are several artists I can’t support or separate from their art due to IPV, and coincidentally enough, those artists are Ronnie Radke and Kanye West. I’ve experienced DV, and NO ONE deserves the terror it imbues by perpetrators, and there aren’t enough resources for victims who’ve been isolated and want out. Victims stay not b/c they’re weak, but b/c the most dangerous time IS the escape. It’s when most are killed. It’s exactly why Nicole Simpson was killed when she was. For the TL;DR To be clear about Ronnie, I’m only speaking on what’s been proven. When he was younger he brutalized ex-girlfriend, Sally Watts. He was charged with IPV, but his lawyer got the charges reduced to “disturbing the peace,” so Watts felt her hand was forced into posting the evidence as people were cyberbullying her at Ronnie’s behest (a continuation of the IPV). In Kanye’s case w/ Kim, his IPV was emotional and controlling yet no less harrowing. She hasn’t said much about it for her kids’ sake, but the media had a field day. They called it “drama” when he posted private convos on twitter, threatened Pete Davidson, love bombed her w/ a truck-full of roses (while dating Davidson), etc. Kim spoke candidly about being forced to wear clothes he picked for her every. single. day. What still brings tears to my eyes is thinking back on a quote by Kim lamenting her cont’d anxiety about getting dressed. If the most well-known , well-connected, and powerful woman w/ a LAW license couldn’t stop the madness how do you think those of us w/o connections get out of these situations? PS Kanye’s mental illness does not give cover for his behavior. #FoodForThought
But nobody will care about that because "he makes good music" which they even said in this clip presenting it as an actual reason for them to not be cancelled... 🤦 I'm all for pushing back against cancel culture because it does get to be too much but this clip really just makes cancel culture look necessary with statements like that
😬😬😬 I love ya Johnny but I dont think Bill Cosby is good for the thumbnail about "cancel culture".....all of us fans who are women and victims of sexual assault and abuse see that as something very specific and it's just sad for us.
Obviously, there's a lot of people who are way too reaftionary and sensitive when it comes to certain comments and jokes, but Ronnie and Kanye are the worst examples to use for this. One's a domestic abuser and the other is an anti-semite. Just cuz ya'll enjoy their music, doesn't mean you should support them as people. C'mon guys..
the domestic abuse charges were dropped and it that was over 10 years ago, even if he is guilty, how long should I wait before I decide he's a better person? now that he's not an alcoholic anymore and no other allegations have been made, I'd say it's alright if he gets .0003 cents from a play on Spotify from me every once in a while lol
@@lil8iTcH You don't need to decide whether he's a better person or not. You don't know him. The only ones who know whether he's changed are the ones around him and himself. If you wanna listen to his music, go ahead. But there's no reason to excuse his actions just because you want to listen to music. You can easily listen to his music while still acknowledging that he's a piece of shit.
Just a loser from most of our perspectives. Just because some people like someone doesnt mean the rest of us are haters. You just like something pathetic. Same as the start of this clip. We dont like his music his attitude his actions well nothing to like. Defending him is pathetic. You cant make people like him.
Tbh I think Ronnie is quite a bit more talented than Kanye but call me biased. Also here for all the woe is me “I don’t like Ronnie” fans who obviously haven’t followed a7x since the early 2000s. Cuz ya prob wouldn’t have liked them as much either.

Ronnie Radke is an amazing and extremely talented artist, I'm glad he got balls to push back at the stupid cancel culture.
"Ronnie is like the Kanye of the rock scene" is far from the statement you wanted it to be....
James Charles and bill cosby being on that thumbnail ain’t much better

I agree. I have a relative who was a victim of Bill Cosby. Nothing funny about that.
You missed the joke....
Man this one’s gonna piss off a lot of folks lol. I’m team Ronnie 100%. You can dislike what he says but calling to deplatform him is stupid.
I really respect you for this one Johnny. Got to separate the art from the artist and find the humor in things

People still actually believe he’s a domestic abuser 🤣
That was an interesting clip
Ronnie the Kanye of the rock scene is hilarious. Ronnies haters are obsessed with him. Much love Johnny!
