It's messay at least for me... I have it for a week now and I find chunks of litter and just litter all over the place outside of the machine. They should have added a swinging door or something. What a mess.
I LOVE our litter robot 3! My biggest gripe is what you were mentioning about when you empty it. I straight up just started shop vacuuming the litter out because 50% of the litter would get stuck under the dang thing! Super glad they addressed that
Thanks so much for doing a real review. I think it’s clear from this video that this won’t work for me. I have 4 cats and there’s no way that’s enough litter for all of them for multiple days, so I’d have to fill it up everyday in any case besides emptying out the litter tray which would be full by end of the day too. Even if I’d buy two of those robots, I think the maximum I could go without taking care of it is 2 days. In addition one of my cats pees vertically and I can see that the globe looks like a mess inside and litter gets stuck everywhere. My cats would end up with pee and dirty litter on their fur. Also there’s no way that thing doesn’t stink really bad with the clumps stuck on the walls of the globe. Now I am not saying that this isn’t an issue in standard boxes, but they cost 20$ not 700$. The current price of these products is just way too much for the minimal time and effort saving. I hope they improve this kind of products but until then I’ll keep scooping manually.
We love our LR-4 but when we first had it I could get away with replacing the bag 2X per week (Sunday AM & Wed PM) but lately it seems to be wanting me to replace the bag every two days instead of every 3 1/2 days. What would cause that? The cat (only one) doesn't seem to be using it any more than before. I know they've upgraded the software a couple of times since we bought it. Would that be the cause?
Random question, but with this and its rotating bin...can and do cats get left over fecal material on themselves that may be stuck on the bin at times??
How wide is the actual base (the part that sits on the floor)? I’m trying to see if it’s going to fit in a certain spot. I would very much appreciate your help/info! Thanks
Does it come with the little fence at the bottom or is it an accessorie? And does it close the little gap between the rotating part and the hull? 'cause my cat pees "high".
Arm & Hammer Litter Slide Multi-Cat Scented Clumping Clay Cat Litter. This is the absolute best litter for the litter robot. I’ve used this for 3 years now with 5 cats and lasted me almost 2 months on the biggest box
Do you feel like the 5 cats can manage the single robot well? I have 10 cats and want to get a litter robot but I’m not sure how many I should realistically have
Thanks to your video me and my wife decided that a robot is pointless, between scooping or washing the poop that got stuck like shown on the clip, we prefer scooping...
Thank you for making this video. I appreciate being able to see the true size of the unit and the rotation. Hope you give us an update months from now detailing the pros and cons 🙏
Do you feel like the day to day cleaning is easier? My biggest issue with the LR3 is litter clumps getting trapped near the opening and then winding up getting dragged around the entire inside of the globe path and/or sticking to the rectangle right above the box in the disgusting little non-removable brush things
I think I'm going to splurge and get the 4 given that I'm going from a one cat to a three cat household! Thanks for mentioning this to me. I was going to get the 3, but I think the 4 is going to be better all around. Appreciate you!
Great review. I love this machine but those plastic bags are crazy big. Bad for the environment. I plan to put a foil tray inside mine and dump it into a compostable bag.
its looks like alot of cleaning. i am considering buying the litter robot 4 but i am still using a plastic tray and the clean down is once a week. a water spray with hose after dumping the kitty litter. then wipe down and new kitty litter. it all takes about 15 minutes and it looks much less cleaning than this video.
Do these ever go on sale? $700 is very steep. I am totally liking what I am seeing here. I am curious if this would stop my cat from pooping on the floor though lol
Do you think small pellet-style clumping tofu litter (Rufus & Coco Wee Kitty Eco Plant Clumping Cat Litter in particular) would work with the LR4's sifting system? Or would the size of the tiny pellets prevent it from sifting properly?
As long as that litter creates clumps with the urine and coats the poop to prevent too much smearing you are good to go. It doesn't matter how small the pellets are, just if it clumps and the pellets have to be small enough to be sifted through the grate. I've used a manual-sift litter box with wood pine pelts and that would not work in the litter robot. It doesn't clump at all it turns to wet sawdust with the urine. Basically the opposite of would work with the robot.
I'm confused by the whole "down to nothing" part of your video. You're supposed to be constantly (at least daily) adding litter to maintain the proper level. Kind of gross to think your cats are standing in their own urine/feces because you're not refilling and allowing it to get down to basically nothing.
I think if you are within 90 days they have a special deal and shipping is covered ..I've saw people posting there conversations with customer service.
You should have 90 days. I am sending mine back to order the new one. You have to call customer service or online to get a return authorization. It is $60 if you drop it off at FedEx or $75 if they pick it up.
I'm sure the App let's you know when it's full a percentage don't let go weeks like she did she even forgot to fill the darn things she must thought it would do it for her too lol plain lazy. I'm sorry but I care for my cats 🐈 😻 I'm sure if you let that bin overfill all the shit and pee would eventually rub off on the drum and I'm sure it wouldn't be a good thing lol can't wait to get mine soon.
I wish it had the function that night light will only turn on when cat wants to enter the globe, coz right now it is a waste of electricity & lifespan of the bulb for the nightlight to be turn on for 8 hours straight.
From other vids I have seen it looks like they are still using that cheap flimsy Pinch Guard that caused issue with all four of my LR3's...Ill pass on this one.
Awesome review!! Just got two Bengals. Question though please: Was it easy getting the cats to use the product? I believe my cats will get confused when they see a globe instead of a litter box.
I have had these boxes for 10 years. It doesn't work fine. The litter boxes were really dirty and waste was stuck to the plastic. You need more litter and a better clumping litter at that. Like Tidy Cat
@@DanaColeman08 thanks, but today cat doesn't work well for me. I use Scoop Away, and it was so low because I didn't refill it and was letting it get low to dump it. I actually hate Today Cat.
@@wunderfoldsscottishfoldcat36 hey I'm just letting you know that I used the same litter for like 3 weeks and I thought it was fine but oh God it was awful and after switching to another litter and I'm not going to list the name, because almost all of them were better than the one you have, but the box stayed looking like new and never really needed to be cleaned after that. You also need a little bit more litter. Trust me. I thought the same thing, it turns out that it's just really heavy. A different litter that slightly lighter weight will prevent any sticking and you won't have to clean it as much and the smell will be even better and you can put more litter in without any problems. Trust me, you're using the wrong letter and there's a reason why it says that this litter is actually recommended not to be used in this litter robot according to whisker on their very own website. Whisker themselves says not to use this litter in their machine or else it causes issues.
Little hassle with that litter doing that I love my little robot three but I found the perfect litter to work in that machine and probably even better in yours I’ll send you the website it’s an arm and hammer litter it’s a little expensive but but it lasts me a month and a half with 5 cats When the box is working right I have too many issues with the third GEN model that’s why I can’t wait to get the little robot for
This is for lazy people who can waste money on foolishness. If you are paying the amount in which this cost, you should not have ever touch it or better yet, see anything left in the box.
After watching these reviews...I gotta agree. $700 bucks for what? The only thing this is doing for anyone is replacing manual scooping which takes all of 1 minute. It's something that sounds great but actually isn't all that helpful.
You are the first reviewer to show the ease in cleaning! I am excited for the 4.
It's so much easier than the 3! I think there's less crevices for litter to get stuck in on the dump cycle.
It's messay at least for me... I have it for a week now and I find chunks of litter and just litter all over the place outside of the machine. They should have added a swinging door or something. What a mess.

Yes! I've done the same and would shake it back and forth trying to get the missed litter. This emptied completely!

Omg the way this is so much easier to clean is WORTH the upgrade. Especially if you don’t have a yard!! I’m excited now

Great review and they gave us all the reasons to upgrade from LR3 except the money needed to do the switch for 6 robots:)
Yes, we have 12 Litter-Robot 3s. I guess we will replace as needed.
Rather than playing music, it would be nice to actually hear how loud the cycle is.
I have it cycling to no music on here as well :)
I didn’t see a full cycle without music. Let me watch the video again.
When she got empty it was the actual sound
Just got mine. It’s VERY quiet.
Random question, but with this and its rotating bin...can and do cats get left over fecal material on themselves that may be stuck on the bin at times??
How’s the smell? I love my 3, but I do a deep clean often and it still smells to me. AND how’s the litter tracking?
Tracking is same, smell I haven't noticed. The drawer is completely closed with no vents or need for charcoal filter.
How wide is the actual base (the part that sits on the floor)? I’m trying to see if it’s going to fit in a certain spot. I would very much appreciate your help/info! Thanks

Great review. I love this machine but those plastic bags are crazy big. Bad for the environment. I plan to put a foil tray inside mine and dump it into a compostable bag.
That's a great tip! What size would work?
Lololol
It looks very dirty, I think you need to use another type of litter which give you dryer clump. The clump is too wet and it will be really smelly

Is it good for chonky cats?
It's opening is bigger than the 3, but the globe is similar size inside.
How can you get LR 4 earlier than Jun? Because their website said that they would delivery after Jun.
They asked me to test it for them
You need more litter
Is it the same height inside for big cats? Do they recommend the same amount of litter as the LR3 the 8-10 lbs worth?
Same size and amount of litter

What happens if your cat uses it, leaves and then re-enters it while it’s spinning?
It stops cycling right away because of the sensors
Do I have to dry inner globe after washing?
No
I wish it had the function that night light will only turn on when cat wants to enter the globe, coz right now it is a waste of electricity & lifespan of the bulb for the nightlight to be turn on for 8 hours straight.
It's probably a tiny LED bulb that uses miniscule power and lasts decades.
