I'm on minute 9 and just needed to stop and say - what a professional in depth review ! I'm really impressed by your highly informative and detailed work on that video, keep it up man !
Is the 9 series quieter than the others? It's really hard to find this info online tbh. At 3:45 it shows the measurement at around 60 with the others hovering around 68+, was this difference noticable during use? Thanks! Unfortunate the beardscape is really expensive to get in EU
Maybe slightly quieter. since they are all basically the same, (5/7/9 series) the difference was which one rattled more. in this case the 9 series was slightly quieter, but I don't know if that result would be consistent.
I went with the series 5 based on this video. Thank you for that. You mentioned that the series 5 has a li-ion battery, but every website and document says it has a nickel metal hydride battery. Even on your video when you compared the series 5 and 7 battery life, it shows the series 5 as having a Ni-MH battery. But when you opened it up it wasnt? I hope your findings are what i got too.
You mentioned at the price point of the series 9 you wouldn’t recommend the trimmer- I’m looking to get a trimmer for Black Friday so I’m just wondering what alternatives you would recommend, at the price point of something like the series 9? It’s around £75-80 in the UK currently for Black Friday, so it would be good to hear some other options from you mate that you prefer/ recommend over it 👍👍
If you can find a good deal on the 9 series or 7 series it may be worth it. I'm not sure what what is offered in the UK. As @southyjd mentioned, the V1 is a lot of trimmer for the money, especially with our Black Friday deals.
I want to get my husband a trimmer primarily for his beard, nose, ears, and brows. He doesn't have a mountain man beard, but his is thick. Maybe keeps it around an inch long. Is it best to get a separate trimmer for nose/ ears and then have a beard/brow trimmer? He gets wild brows 🤪
For sure. There's plenty of good options for nose/ear trimmers ( here's some: th-cam.com/video/T5BikghK5as/w-d-xo.htmlsi=bVNMj7nH4iS_VRlH). Ceramic blades are great for thick hair, it sounds like he would be using a longer guard for his beard. One inch may not sound like its long, but at that length it starts to be more about shaping instead of just running a single guard length over everything. I'm sure he would be happy with the Beardscape trimmer! www.brio4life.com/collections/hair-care/products/blackout-beardscape-v2
For head shaving, I would recommend a wider blade. It also depends on how short you like it. The Braun will go fairly short, but not a shaven look. Please reach us at support@brio4life.com and we can make a more specific recommendation based on your needs.
Unfortunately not, they don't want to turn on while charging. The 5/7/9 series should be able to give you a full trim from a dead battery in about a 30 minute charge - so if the battery is totally dead, you just have to wait about 30 min.
For hair cuts and beard trimming, you may want a slightly wider blade and better guard system. Check out the Beardscape, its perfect for doing haircuts or longer beard trims. www.brio4life.com/collections/hair-care
I love the idea of an adjustable guard so we are working on a system that fixes this problem. We also have a magnetic guard system coming out for the Beardscape that makes dealing with guards much easier.
When are guys planning to restock your beard scape v2 in Australia? I have been waiting to get my hands on one for months now. Would appreciate if i could get an approximate time of restock here in AU 😊
They have one that is the same as the 3 series (29.95)(don't buy that one), and there's one that's the same as the 5 series (49.94) - otherwise, yes same thing.
I think I need to do a video on this one.. The Beardscape V1 will be 20% off for black Friday - cyber Monday ($68). The Whal Li-ion trimmer is good if you can find a deal on it since its not exactly on the cheep side. The original Meridian trimmer is good if you just want a body hair trimmer. The Braun 5 series is OK, but i really don't like the guard system. There's a Phillips Multigroom 8100 for about $50, it ticks most of the boxes. I wouldn't recommend going down in the sub $40 range - many of those trimmers have ni-mh batteries and won't last long.
The darkest black one is the 3 series, it is several steps below the rest when it comes to build quality. They were really trying to hit a price point with this one.
Wow, very informative 👍 Which one is best for maintaining short stubble (1-2mm stubble) and lineups of cheeks/neck? I was thinking 9 series, but the 7 series is a better value and still comes with the pro contour precision blade. What about the Brio BeardScape v2 with the zero blade add on? 😉 It is a bulky unit though.
The guards are all the same, so all the Braun trimmers will work the same for stubble. The Beardscape gives you a bit more adjustment in the stubble range with the .3 mm adjustments on the ceramic blade. I usually use the 1mm guard with the Beardscape then set the blade at 1.3 or 1.6mm. The Braun trimmers can cover this range, but just don't have quite as many length settings in the stubble range. The Zero blade is like the pro contour blade where its just designed to cut really short and not designed to work with the guards (just like the Braun trimmers). I looked to see if they sell that separately, but couldn't find it - so if you wanted that blade you would just have to buy the 7 series.
It’s a no brainer to get the 7 over the 9. I am maintaining stubble in the 1.5-2mm range so that would be using the ceramic blades (no guard) on the BeardScape? Is that doable? And using the zero blade for lineups of check and neck.

I'm really impressed by your highly informative and detailed work on that video, keep it up man !
Thankyou for taking the time to help go through all of these options!
Based on your review, I've ordered the 5 series. Thank you for this excellent review.
Best. most rigorous and practical review of trimmers: Awesome!
wow amazing video thank you for taking time to make the video. Just what I was looking for. You saved me so much time
Very well explained. I have a Panasonic trimmer , using it for 13 years still working and holding charge lol. Though i use it twice a week.
That's quite a run!
Nice in deep video. Thanks for your time !
Which trimmer do you recommend from the European market?
Excellent analysis
Helpful, thanks! I went with the 7
You mentioned that the Braun series is not good for a long beard. What do you recommend for a longer beard?
Thank you for your wonderful review!
A slightly wider blade and longer snap on guards. The Beard Club or the Beardscape V2 are good options.

Awesome and very useful review.. subscribing.. keep making content
Thank you! Will do!

The 3 series was the only one I saw with the Ni-MH all the rest are Li-Ion. If you are seeing that on product descriptions, it may be old information?

Brio beardscape v1? Had mine for 4/5 years. Not faulted

On the contour blade can you put on a T9 blade comb? It looks like it is possible

Bought my trying to couple right
would you recommend any of these to shave the head every 2 days for a bald guy like me?
For head shaving, I would recommend a wider blade. It also depends on how short you like it. The Braun will go fairly short, but not a shaven look. Please reach us at support@brio4life.com and we can make a more specific recommendation based on your needs.
Thanks for helpful review! One question, can i use any of them with connected cable?

Thank you for your information, please tell me honestly, which is the best model for putting on a stubble? I really want the best machine
This ar better then kemei trimmer?
9 Series is great. I don't like charging the trimmer everytime and last me a whole month. 7 series best for value though.
Big batteries are a game changer. We aim at 6 months between charges with the 2200 mAh battery.
Enough is enough we need brio v3 now 🔥
Yes! When? Waterproof?
I have 5 series it's good but what is better for Hair and beard trimmer best.
For hair cuts and beard trimming, you may want a slightly wider blade and better guard system. Check out the Beardscape, its perfect for doing haircuts or longer beard trims. www.brio4life.com/collections/hair-care
This is excellent - thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Dang it, I was going to get a braun, but the adjustable comb attachment flex is the one thing I really dislike
I love the idea of an adjustable guard so we are working on a system that fixes this problem. We also have a magnetic guard system coming out for the Beardscape that makes dealing with guards much easier.
OK, so what are the better options on the market?

Yes, They are in the country, but can't get Amazon to ship them out! We need better distribution options in AUS.
Is the king Gillette all in one pro the exact same thing?
They have one that is the same as the 3 series (29.95)(don't buy that one), and there's one that's the same as the 5 series (49.94) - otherwise, yes same thing.
Do you ship to South Africa
no, sorry!
@brioproductgroup1956 how about amazon
Can you use the pro conture blade on the 5 series?
yes! all blades and accessories are compatible with all trimmers in this line.
Best budget trimmer?

Do you ship to Norway ?
no, sorry!
The plastic back one, is tearing apart after a while
