Native Burmese here, currently living in Myanmar. Surprised to see this video popping out on my fyp; it's honestly tragic to see the ongoing situations occurring there. I live in city, whereas safe from the war, but not entirely. Various types of danger are still on the rise here like never before, abductions, threats, and so on. Citizens each other advised not to stay out late and avoid going sketchy areas. Nothing is completely stable here, yet life is hell. Lack of electricity (esp. during this unbearable weather), economics issues, recent announced mandatory military service, which ultimately caused more people to flee the country. Future is uncertain. Even after all these circumstances, it's still skeptical the amount of time to reconstruct all these ruins. I appreciate every individual out there sacrificing their lives coming to this area, uncovering places that have never been recognised. Wishing your safety out there.

As someone from Myanmar, it's both heartening and bittersweet to see outsiders curious about our country, especially during such tumultuous times. The reality of the situation here, post-coup, is incredibly complex and often dangerous. While I appreciate the curiosity and desire to explore, it's essential to acknowledge the gravity of the situation and the suffering that many of our people are enduring. Border areas like Longwa might offer glimpses of cultural exchange, but they also reflect the challenges and tragedies of displacement and conflict. It's a reminder of the resilience and interconnectedness of communities across borders, but also of the urgent need for peace and justice within Myanmar. Thank you for shedding light on this, but let's also keep the focus on supporting those affected and advocating for a better future for all Myanmar citizens.

@Sabbatical
You must have great experiences on your journey to Myanmar. You were really lucky, you have been to Naga Self-Administered Zone.
As for me, even as a Burmese, I haven’t been there yet.
Such a wonderful experience!
I went to visit Yangon and a beach side in Rakhine state, Myanmar like just a few weeks before you uploaded this video, it's a beautiful country with a very diverse population and unique culture. It's a shame what's happening there currently, you can see the greed and lust for power of human beings in full display. The innocent are always the ones who suffer.
Good stuff, Tommy.. very good... thanks for wandering..
Inviting you to come visit Myanmar again another time, “legally” ❤
Perfect channel to start weekend morning. Thx
Brother you are braver than me , great video , thanks and be careful
thanks for another adventure, you have shown places that I never knew they existed and I'll never be able to travel,,,as always I await to follow you to the next place.. Peace
My favorite TH-camr tommyyyyyyy! Thank goodness you uploaded my brother from another.
I always look forward to your next episode, I have like 5 content creators for youtube that I watch on the weekend when their stuff drops. I love your stuff!
Beautiful..!!
Even before the civil war there were checkpoints at certain places & Sabbatical wouldn't have gotten very far into Myanmar & still wouldn't.
Seeker of the Way channel is my favorite with videos from South-East Asia with deep knowledge & strange places! ;)
Another interesting and informative video. Thanks !!
Much Thanks Sabbatical ~ Much Appreciated for your AmaZing travels & information!👍👍👍☺️
Respect from Uzbekistan 👍🏻
Good Travel 🧳
Thanks for sharing.. be safe 🙏🙏🙏
Great video, thank you, wait for more savage locations like this one. 💯🙏🏻
That area is beautiful, but it was really brave of you to cross that border by yourself. You have actual headhunters lurking and what if you had been stopped by the rebels in Myannmar and been kidnapped !?? You are crazy but I love this channel.
No... Our ancestors are headhunter, and we have multiple rebel groups but we are not barbaric, we are not in middle East or Somalia or whatever... We leave people alone .. our beef is with the government of India.. not random people

The R in Myanmar is supposed to be silent, but it was put in there so British people can say it. If it were up to Americans we'd spell it Myanmaw.
