  • This 2002 Honda CBR 954RR Fireblade was sitting for 10 years in a garage. Can we restore it to the amazing bike this once was? And once restored can we take it to the next level to compete with a modern CBR.
Personally, I love the look and design of these older bikes.
    Let me know your thoughts?
    As always, thanks for watching!!

decent video and passion to legendary model! Have one of those as well, but one issue is driving me mad -> jerky on revs up to 3000. Changed spark plugs + ignition coils, cleaned tank, filters but still same... nobody knows what`s the problem, pity :/

I hate those kind of issues. If it is up to 3000 then it smooths out need to check the air-to-fuel ratio, there is a sensor that determines that. Computer may just be getting faulty reading.

@@kuzmaniac yes above 3000 smooth as childs skin and pulls like a train :) will have to find where that sensor is located... Thank You for the advice !

I think it's time to fix the valve clearence and maybe replace the timing chain and tensioner. I have the exact same problem, planning to do mine in the coming winter. I replaced my fuel pressure regulator that didn't fixed. But that was not a bad investment, because they go bad a lot when it get older. Because it contains rubber. Did a lot of research, it has the be the valve timing. I never checked it. I now have 40.000 km on it. So it's time to do that job.

@@livy4life i suspect either bad fuel injectors or spark plugs - thought replaced with brand new but not originals. One more time tried to clean injectors and replaced spark plug on cylinder 4 (this one was a bit cooler then others). That improved small bit, now jerky up to around 2000. So i think problem defo not the valves, mine is only 24k km on the clock. P.S in the past changed pressure regulator also but no difference... it`s absolute amazing that tons of people have this issue (Honda 929, 954 + some cbr 600) and nobody ever managed to solve this problem...

@@justastulpe3265 I still have to replace my iridium spark plugs aswell, but they were changed at 24000 km so now they are 15.000km in the bike. But everywhere I red, a sparkplug change for this particular issue it never solved the problem.
First interval check for the valves is at 24.000 according to honda. Maybe there is a reason they picked that number... The one time I brought the bike to the dealer they were too lazy to do it. They never saw me again after that one. yeah it is strange nobody seems to solve it. I wanna buy a compression kit aswell. to see if there are any leaks in one of the cylinders. If not i can use it on my car aswell. No money wasted on that one. I have bookmarked this video. If im done with the timing chain and valve clearance, i will let you know if it did any good..

Hi, working on the run/ride video. I wanted to include that in the video but CA DMV took a month to send the tags/reg.

Seems like he just replaced the fuel pump along with the housing it's lodged in and applied a piece of film to protect the already nicely sprayed, compounded and polished paint and visibly perfectly applied and corrected clear coat or two of lacquer.
