Trump refused to intervene and help essentially leading to a situation where we basically abandoned them. They are one of our more valuable allies in the area and have done a lot to help US troops. The move is pretty universally panned as a horrible decision that left one of the few really strong allied groups in the region in a position where they felt betrayed. It makes it look pretty awful.
