Well, if this isn't the cutest thing I've seen all day. I love raccoons. They get a bad reputation because they can be vicious when they are sick or cornered. Normally, though, they are shy, very sweet creatures.
When I was a kid, I had a neighbor who was OCD over white animals, she had a white rabbit, white pit bull, white cat, and a white kakatoo(bird, almost like a parrot), she babysat me and me brother sometimes, and I swear to God, all 4 of them used to play together, it was amazing to watch as a kid, they'd chase each other, tackle, play hide and seek, they'd play with us, and they'd fall asleep together, and they listened very well to my neighbor, it was a trip.
Raccoons are like a mix of a cat and dog and experts will say this too at least tamed ones that are pets .... they do alot of things cats do but they also act alot like a dog in some ways too .... they are so cute raccoons bunnies squirrels all these animals are awesome when trained ... any animal can be kool I guess when trained and not wild and crazy lol
Yes, I think you are right! Kitten is now grown and she's very petite, but I think her childhood with the raccoon has made her a tough cookie. She is definitely boss of the other cats and the dog.
Raccoons should be domesticated everywhere. They're really sweet animals if you raise them young and give them their shots. My cousin's friend has four of them when they were little now they are full grown and playful as hell. They get along with cats too as long as they are used to them (kitten wise) and it's a barrel of laughs.
Actually, raccoons naturally poo and pee in the same place (although they have several locations in the wild depending on how many dens they have) and can be trained to use literboxes rather easily.
Because they're too damn smart. They get into EVERYTHING. I mean, they want to touch every object possible in a home, and it takes a lot more effort to raccoon-proof the inside of a house than the outside. Think how many people can't even manage to raccoon-proof a trash can properly.
Raczoon Ferrets get into everything too and pull apart anything just to steal something simple like socks. SOCKS. At least with food around you know the raccoons would be getting to that instead of your own friggen socks omg
Because they'd become too damn smart. Do you really want a domesticated raccoon opening up your childproof locked cabinets and pouring itself a bowl of cereal and then deciding it's still hungry and using your phone to order a pizza. Could you live with that??

We have tons of wild raccoons at my job, I fed one half of my sandwitch, then picked it up and pet it a while, it was very good, like a cat.
