People have a major misconception of cats because they think of their Grandmother's cats, who were big puffy balls of lazy and gluttony. They're unapproachable and just always angry but a cat that's taken care of like a child or even most dogs act completely different. I've had many who fight anything, follow me anywhere, ride around on my shoulders, come to me when I call them... not 100% obiedence but as high as you can achieve without starvation...cats are heavily underrated for real...

@@Asiansxsymbol Not. On wildlife cameras it has been spotted many times that wild cats would battle raccoons and also kill them. Often the only animal a raccoon respects that is smaller than itself is a cat. A common saying is that a cat can handle a dog twice it's size and that goes for all animals, as long as it's not more than double the size, the cat has a chance of winning straight up.

I never liked cats, UNTIL, my 13 year old daughter begged for a cat. I resisted, but her pregnant teacher not suspecting that she would have another pregnancy decided she didn’t need the 6 month tabby ( her third cat) that she had rescued under the school bleachers. About two weeks after we got it my wife came home from work and found me in my recliner, asleep, with the purring cat in my lap. The purring sound was so relaxing that I would easily dose off. We kept that wonderful cat for 17 years. It was so affectionate with me, my family and would often be curled up in the arms of our young Labrador.

We have an 11 pound all white female cat who is very territorial in our yard. She is not much of a hunter, and usually leaves smaller animals alone. She is much more likely to attack the neighbor's dogs, raccoons, fox, etc. I have had to stop her at least three times from attacking leashed dogs being walked by the house.
On one morning a few years back, both cats were hanging out in the backyard when a large male raccoon came along. Both cats were just laying down in a couple different spots watching him dig around in the grass. Both cats had the higher ground advantage. Cali, the cat in my profile pic was up on a wood pile, and Courtney, the bigger white cat was on the seat of a yard chair.
Eventually, the raccoon approached Courtney out of curiosity perhaps. She remained laying down until he went under the chair. At that point she stood up and became more defensive. The raccoon made his way back to the front of the chair, put his front paws up on the seat and tried to sniff Courtney. It was then that she let out a growl that sounded as vicious as any bobcat and clawed the raccoon in the nose which is probably the most sensitive part of the raccoon's body. The coon immediately spun around and fled the yard with Courtney right on his tail.
I watched the entire encounter from a window. I went out to help, but didn't have time. I wish i had it recorded. It would have been a great video, but was more interested in the safety of the animals. Eventually Courtney returned back to the yard, but the raccoon never did. That raccoon was two or three times bigger than the cat.

Here's a thought🤔...the raccoon got up that fence as if it were the top WWE rope and imagine it teasing the cat. "Nanner Nanner Nanner, you can't get me, sucka, ha!" - It would've been a trip had the cat decided to leap and go after it bcuz they can leap that height with no problem. Cat - "Oh, you think you tuff! I hate yo black n white fur, I hate yo black mask and hate you came in my peep's backyard tryna mess up my goodie spot. Now I gotta cut ya!" - It's the thuggish ruggish claw 😂 bonus thought: Raccoon; as if it were George Jetson on the spacewalk: "ahh, mama!, come get this bad 'ol putty tat. Dis is some cra cra; I'll never want no p***y this bad ever again! These felines be tripp'n, ugh🤬" 😂...🤨opinions?

The cat was like, hey get off my property lol I actually had a golden retriever and the neighbor had a yellow lab. The lab came over and was in my back yard. My golden had a fit and bad dog fight started. Well my cat who was sitting on the back porch heard the fight and took off across the yard and literally jumped into the middle of the dog fight, broke it up and the dogs went their separate ways and the cat walked back to the house acting totally cool, like nothing happened lol I was amazed!!!

The reality of all this is. Yes large house cats like this can hold there own. However, if the Raccoon had truly wanted to it would have owned that kitty very easily. I've heard to many horror stories. If they can fend off Coyotes not all of the time but most of the time. Think about what they can do to a house cat folks. Keep your pets indoors if possible.

One day he saw one go in there and he followed it in was probably about 4 or 5 full grown raccoons living in there and I’ll just say I never saw another raccoon leave or go back in that storm drain. Ole Tiger passed away from feline leukemia when I was 17 biggest, sweetest, toughest, most predatory driven cat I’ve ever had.

She said the neighbors called to ask what the shrieking was. She told them, the cat is chasing off a skunk. A few weeks later you could still smell skunk, but it never came back LOL.

Is that a chicken coupe on the right side of the picture? If so, and the coupe has chicken wire, that raccoon will grab the chickens through the wire and pull it through the wire! I would think so, because the raccoon focused his time on the coupe. The stealth of the cat is awesome. He actually stayed in the shadow of the grill, while the raccoon walked right by to the coupe. 😂
It seems the two got together to make this video. Cat: “Carl, my owners installed this camera. Let’s make a video for the humans. You sneak in the backyard and I’ll be waiting. I will stalk you and act badass, while you run to the gate.” 😂😂
Raccoon: “What can I do to look badass?”
Cat: “Oh, you back in the corner of the fence, like I’m about to attack. But instead, you slowly back up and climb the fence. The humans will love it. I guarantee we will get animal points. No one gets hurt and none the wiser to our little scene. Trust me it will work!”
Raccoon: “Awesome! I love the part where I back up the fence. I’ve actually been working on the move lately. I can do it, but just give me a few extra seconds to get myself positioned before you attack. You’ll scare the piss out of me!”😂
ATTENTION: No cats or raccoons were injured during the filming of this video! 😂😂
