Myconids are WONDERFUL for body-horror sessions and campaigns. And they're not limited to the underdark. I once had a group living in a sewer of a major city (think medieval/early renaissance Prague) that cared for the homeless and destitute who were forced to live down there. They cured those who lived in the sewers of a brutal plague, and happily healed the sick and injured. Many a legless beggar found new legs had grown in their sleep. Of course, the new legs, eyes, organs, etc were all made of fungus and mold. Anyone healed by the mold-men would find their blood running thinner than usual, with their fluids contaminated with spores. And a small group of spore-circle sewer druids had allied with them to take out the thieves guild, taking it over and using myconid hallucinogenic spores as drugs they sold on the surface to fund their efforts.
So, next time a kindly old matron of a tea house selling kombucha whispers that they know someone who can regrow the fighter's lost arm.... maybe think twice about the side effects.

@@itslegendlore glad you like them. Obviously, if someone in your group has a low tolerance for squick and body horror, don't do this, but if you've got a bunch of horror fans, it's great for ratcheting up tension when they have to start worrying about where their healing potions are sourced.

Commenting for the algorithm, but also because this is a great video! I have a Circle of Spores druid in my current session and she hasn't been in the Underdark far enough to meet myconids yet. I can't wait to see how my DM will handle their role in the plot and in my character's progression. I'm sending this video to her as food for thought!❤

Corpse Vehicle sounds like a really cool metal band. 😂
Awesome video though. As a druid main I always thought Myconids were interesting creatures.

Your way of words + voice are so pleasant, it all is wonderful poetry. Did you ever cover Gond in one of your videos? I currently got a player that is a follower of Gond, but both the player and their character are somewhat new to the Gond religion and culture and I'd love to have some inspiration on what I can throw at them so they can develop their arc and relationship with that god.
