Hi there from the UK, stretching frames isn't something we do here, but I sure can appreciate a good weld, & I can safely say both the prep & weld look superb. Keep up the great work, must be difficult doing it on your own sometimes, wish I could be there to help, take good care until the next time
My welding instructor (a pipeline welder of many years) stretches and shortens farm trucks on the side and uses cutoff wheels to save work though it may reduce the HAS. He does it because cutting leaves a finished edge.
I wonder how much more it would cost to just replace the entire frame rail.? Then you could use the old rail as template. I actually did this to my 359 pete
It would have been around 6k more I believe. Shipping would have been allot higher. All the rear end hanger brackets use large huck bolts. So that would have been allot more also. I will be haveing more videos soon.
Could have bought two new frame rails 380" w/b my former boss did it under sleeper and the fck broke in two left me on highway when dot tested everything thd welding was not at fault the twisting did it they said never cut that far forward.good luck
Black framerails could look good with blue/white stripes or blue/silver stripes original style👍...Uhh tough choice 😬 But its coming together and starting to look like a truck again👍
Gonna look nice, I think a black frame would look great.
The guy you had welding the frame did a real nice job. Looking forward to your next video.
He is a very good welder. He is a welder at a very large power plant.

G’day from Melbourne 🇦🇺.
Enjoying you build 😎
You’d enjoy Ezirider359, he’s extended his 359 and added a pusher axle.
I do watch his videos. Thanks for watching.
Damn he is a good welder I bet he doesn’t have to look for a job
What color are you going to paint the truck. Your doing a great job
Not sure but most likely blue an white. Maybe blue an silver. My dad always likes blue am white. All of our trucks have been blue though the years.

Awesome
Mr. Matthew what the old and new wheel base now on the frame for this old new tractor truck ?
I believe it was around 250 wheel base. Maybe a little longer due to it being a Canadian spread rear suspension truck. I went back with 270.

Have to make that decision when I get further along. Thanks for watching.
Also do not ever use regular sterl berms they must be heat-related spring steel frame rail material.
These rails were bought from PG Adams. Their business is frame rails.
If you had new rails built why didn't you have the frame built to the length you wanted so you wouldn't have to splice the rails?
Please stop having camera looking at your back, its very anoying to watch. good content but camera angles need work.. Audio is really great..
there's more than one way to skin a fa... cag ....I mean cat! Yeah ,cat!
