People who think this is "rude" have only had yes men around them.
This type of coaching will actually help this guy make that push from D2 into the higher tiers of Masters and GM - you aren't going to magically break your bad macro habits without some strong coaching like this.
Other coaches will just take your money and just make you feel good with some light advice but Perry actually cares about the client and his progress, which is why it comes off as "harsh" to some.
League is just like any other sport and if you're serious about improvement you need a coach like Perry.
Really good content Perry! Keep it up man!

^He takes his time to review a lower elo person to help him climb. Those might be habbits that have been set in stone over multiple years. just saying "yeah ok, just do this, just do this" wtihout getting any negative feedback on your 'flow', not much would have been changed. Really great couch, sounds a little rude, but he is correct.

I've also been coaching this student for a few weeks. He's a top 1% player in other games. I'm holding this guy to very high standards. He wants to hit challenger and I'm gonna push him.

@perryjg it still wasn't cool to call him a pussy.. He wasn't giving the same energy back. No hate, I have learned from your content. But I'd like to see more sincerity when correcting your clients' mistakes. Maybe if he was giving the same energy back, it wouldn't have been so rough.

@@Lone_Wolf_91 Calling someone a pussy isn't necessary for forcing a habit out of someone's mind. But to each their own.
Imagine if school teacher's taught college kids like that. Called him fucking names for getting answers wrong. Being "grown" has nothing to do with it.

Those second grubs, you told him not to worry about the Sion. Then on review, you gave him shit for not fighting the Sion. Very inconsistent info, man.

He didnt have big windows to fight there, telling him to go fight Sion when it needs to be a decision made in a second will only confuse things imo. He does mention at the start of the sequence that he can look for fight w Sion as well

I just started jungling last week and Perry might be the only channel that feels consistent and knows what they are doing. I feel like I can get to Gold then I might buy a training session once I get to the point where when I watch these videos. I am 100%, I am one tricking and dodging any games that I don't get to play my champ until I hit gold I am tempted to add a second champion, I am not going to because I truly believe if I follow the advice Perry gives I will climb.

I see what u doing with your approach, would do it a little differently but u definitely need to forced bad habits out of someones mind and being candy nice all the time isn't going to do the job, I played WoT for over 10y and would always add ^disclaimer^ don't take my talking too personal bc I only care for what's right atm and if u fucked up You fucked up and only u need to understand that and there is no reason to be mad at me, u just gotta own it, it's 15v15 clan wars, so there is a lot of going on having 15+ ppl on discord. Nice coaching, knowing things is one thing, doing them as game is played is something entirely different.

Before you can improve on something, you have to realize that you NEED to improve on it. Many people don't realize how bad they are at what they're doing, and so they never even consider looking for a better paradigm or updating their methods/attitude. When dealing with people who are resisting realizing that they are bad at something, you have to sometimes interrupt their automatic EGO defenses with some pure and honest feedback regardless of how it'll make them feel. Perry isn't rude in any of his streams or videos, he's literally the most level headed coach ive watched in the league community so far.
also if you're more worried about your ego/how you feel than you are about improving then you don't deserve to improve anyways.

i mean, he has to get alot of information out in a very short amount of time. There isn't really time for pleasantries and i know if i paid alot of money for pro coaching, id want to get as much information out as possible in that time frame, and i wouldnt want time wasted on coddling

imagine saying this to a coach of any other sport. It's not rude, he just treats it like a sport.

    • @B-RaD5oh5
      @B-RaD5oh5 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@zacharyconner9319 1) this isn’t other sports, 2) I coach martial arts and have been coached my whole life in martial arts as well as organized sports and it is much different. I’m not sure if Perry was trying to be extra for content but it wasn’t his normal style. Even Tarzaned in his coaching videos isn’t too bad honestly and that’s just his personality anyway. Perry is much more educational and instructive which is why I prefer his style. This just felt out of character or maybe a new direction he’s going. Idk but to say all coaches are rude or condescending to their students just isn’t reality or a fair assessment. Straight forward and direct - yes, but not rude or condescending.
