Real Fix for Android Not Receiving Texts - SMS [SOLVED]

- If you are facing issues with the messaging service on your android phone, and you are not able to receive texts or SMS, then this simple method will help you fix it.
When the cache and the data has reached it's maximum or the messaging service not working properly, we'd like to reset or clear the data on it.
To do this, On your Android Phone go to Settings, Apps, and look for Messaging. Now go into Storage and Tab on Clear Data - confirm the message and this will reset the messaging service on the phone. Hopefully this will fix the issue and you can receive text messages again.
WE also recomend you using the google messages app instead of the default stock app that came with the phone, as this one works better and offers much more features. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

Just commenting to thank you for this video. Clearing the data and cache and restarting my phone was the exact thing that fixed it. Once I restarted, I got a ton of messages flooding in at once lol.
Still can't receive emails from a business. Frustrating with T-Mobile. end up in Africa with the customer service rep using google to answer my question. Geezzz. Switch carriers?

Awesome thank you!!!! This actually works. I did try clearing the stuff on the settings. That didn't work. I tried downloading another message app like mentioned and my goodness I received over 20 texts within setting it as default. Thank you!

Worked for me too! Spent all day messing with phone and on Carrier service help line etc. They said that due to so many mergers of Carriers, some phones not working on text right. Duh... they resent my APN they said, but it did not help problem until I did what you said! thanks so much.

Your video is such a blessing. I own a new chinese super phone, since it is a global unit, it has both languages. Upon setup, I was unable to discern the chinese for certain and necessary programs. The SMS erroneously worked for certain other phones trying to contact me

Some of My text messages are importing to the other SMS built in app even though all permissions are turned off. It's rather a nuisance as I have to constantly open and set that app to default to view the "hidden text".

Very helpful. My new Samsung phone slipped the Samsung Message app in there, which worked received messages sporadically. Looks just like the Google icon. Downloaded Google M and I'm off to the races. THx
Same thing happened to me with my Samsung! Once I noticed the slight difference in the Messages Icons---it was my A-HA moment!!!!!

This worked on my samsung s8.It clears your messages make sure you save any numbers needed ect. I did not do this so lost my unsaved numbers but fixed my problem by backing up to Samsung so all good Thankyou. 👍

That's what the tech support person told me to do. My oneplus 7 pro still have issues on the T-mobile network.
I am not at all tech-savvy and have to do International SMS Roaming, but my built-in messaging App on LG K8 doesn't receive SMS. POV: your parents are mad at you for not replying back right away.
But the messages is already my pre loaded messaging app and it doesn't have a clear data button. It has a clear storage, but if I press it it says it will delete all databases, settings etc. Is this what I want to do? Or will this destroy my messages app? Again, it is the one that he downloaded, but it came with my phone.
What if you have a secondary app like the app handset should I clear cash in both?

Clearing the cache didn’t help, but switching to the alternative app did the trick. 👍🏼
Dose the app use the same number or it gives you a new one ?

SMS issues are different than intagra, youtube, etc... for those apps, you will need an active data plan and corrresponding apn settings (or a wifi connection)

On my phone's main screen, the Messages icon is covered by a dark blue bubble now. Had the phone (Tracfone Blu) for about a year and never saw that before. Any ideas what it's for?

My mother has the Samsung A8 (2018) I have tried everything I can think of as well as what’s was suggested in the video and her phone still can’t receive any sort of text messages. She can send them but not receive. Any suggestions?
