Thank you very much for the video, Hugo. We here in Hampshire like to drop down to Hayling Island and spend the day looking at the sea, before having fish and chips and driving home. Not quite as smart as Marbella but it is the sea that draws us. Hopefully both of us will enjoy happy days again before too long, best wishes and keep my favourite channel active, all the best, David.
Thank you for beautiful pictures. And thank you for nice videos - I really like the one with you and your sister. I´m just about to buy a M9. Think that is the right one for me. Right now I´m shooting M6 and X2. Cheers from Denmark
Hello Hugo, very nice pictures ! I always enjoy your video's. Your images with the Leica M8 are so beautiful that I started looking for a good used M8. And I found one at the Meister Camera Store in Hamburg. The camera was delivered this afternoon + a Voigtländer lens 35mm 1.4. First Black-White pictures are very nice. I really thank you for all your practical and theoretical informations about this m8, they were a great Help to me. Please keep up the good work ! Stay in Good Health ! Greetings, Roger.
Tuftufclub, Congratulations for your camera. Is great to read your comment, it encourage me to continue with the videos. And I enjoy it. TH-cam is this magic window where I can speak about This camera and someone listen, and comment. At home nobody cares!! ;-) Thank you, all the best and enjoy your M8 + Voigtlander. I have exactly the same combo, and love it!
Caula Cau, Thank you. I’m glad you enjoy them. This camera inspires me to do it, and TH-cam is the only place where I can speak about it and someone listen ;-) All the best!
Wonderful photographs. I recently added a M9-P to my Leica kit but the processing of the RAW files is so much different from the M8 that it is a lot more work to get the M9 files to look as the M8 files. The only advantage of the M9 is the full frame sensor format which is great for wide angle lenses as the 35mm and the 21mm. For the rest the M8 still has and will ever have the better output. Stellar camera.
Thanks Funktrainer. We have the same cameras! I also own a M9-p. And is great, as you say specially for the full frame. But this warmer tones from the M8 are so unique...
I love your photos Hugo. Please keep posting. There are a ton of videos out there about cameras but I find your videos and images are very emotional, unpretentious and with a soul. You inspire me. I am now awaiting for my M8. It will be my very first Leica digital.
Thanks for your nice videos! I'm on my first week with my new to me M8 and loving it. Sold my 1DX and 5DMKIV, i was so extremely tired of that clinical look and the feeling of beeing at some kind of LAN party every time i was out shooting or working. I come from shooting my M6 for 15 years, the M8 feels like a M6 with a screen to me more than the later digital models. It has a unique look, the DNG-files are wonderful and the colors amazing, as close as digital gets to film. Had an M9 for a short while, i think the way to go is either a M8 for it's special vibe, or the M10 for the advantages of a modern camera for those who are in to that kind of stuff.
Thanks Antifaws! Congratulations for your new-old M8. I agree with you, is the closest you can get to film shooting digital. Is a digital with character and beautiful colors. I like what you say, that feels like a M6. I never try a M6 but I know how good and legendary this cameras are.
Beautiful Hugo! I have to say I got the M10 recently and in the beginning it was sad - it doesn’t have the look of my M8. I got used to it after a while but my conclusion is the M8 was a great camera and continues to be a great camera and you have proven that once again with this video. I need to sell the M8 to cover for the price I paid for the the M10 but if I did not have to, I can imagine using them both. The color signature of both are different and IMO, the M8 is superior in B&W jpegs. Please keep this channel going! Big fan here.
Thanks! Congratulations for the M10. Is a beautiful camera, so thin. As you see I love the M8 but Im also sure all cameras can deliver something unique and great, and the M10 is an extraordinary camera. Enjoy the evolution! ..and may be in the future other m8 cross your path ;-)
Lovely atmospheric shots Hugo, which convey the the surreal situation we are all in at the moment. Ironically, because of the small number of people around, the beauty of the place stands out and there is more to the photographs than could ever be conveyed in normal circumstances when the place is crowded, but of course that is only my opinion. There is a sense of solitude which comes over in them. They remind me somewhat of the time I photographed the Camargue, an errie place, but full of beauty. Nice work!
Thank you Martin. I know Camargue! I had been there many times and love it. The only problem Is to find a Hotel during holiday times, especially summer. But I know what you mean, camargue have also this atmosphere, specially in winter.
Thanks for another great video and photos, especially when we are all kind of restricted in our movements because coronavirus. Glad to see you are well and hope your family is as well. For better or worse, I have spent some of my idle time surfing the internet and buying some vintage lenses to use on the M8 and M9; a Canon 50mm f1.8 LTM lens and a Soviet era Jupiter 8 50mm f2 LTM lens.
Thank you William. I know is dangerous; too much time to surf the internet looking for treasures. But yours look good to me, the Canon is a beauty! Reminds me a bit to the Zeiss Sonnar 50.
Thanks Sean. Film Yashica fx3 & Minolta. I use them for my personal photography. And Sony a for travel and everyday shooting. I was a videographer who become a photography lover.
Beautiful images, Hugo. You inspired me to take my M8.2 for a walk again. Thanks for sharing!
Fabulous images, you have a great eye for a photograph.
I love the gentle pace of your videos, please carry on making them. Thank you.

Beautiful work.
Thanks
Just saw 4-5 of your other videos, and I think that these shots by the sea are some of your best. Cheers
Thanks, I agree, they are between my favorites. Creers!
Lovely video...... Im also enjoying walking with my M8 as a way of de-stressing from the concerns and worries of the current situation
Simon Kimber, yes, the M8 is a good companion for meditative walks. Thanks, and all the best!
Beautiful images
Thank you

Love those cameras , they have organic colors they almost look like film.
Absolutely
Beautiful shots, especially the sunsets...that Leica M8 still produces excellent colors after all of these years....
Thank you. Yes, this old camera still rocks ;-)
Keep sharing your photos, Hugo.
Thanks! I will ;-)
I like your Chanel! Keep it up! Love the photos.
Thanks for encouraging me! I will continue :-)
The perfect distraction and tonic away from the world’s problems.
Good to see you’re safe and well, Hugo.

Very nice images! The colors are uniquely M8, vey organic. I have an M8 and it’s also the camera that inspired me to shoot.
I agree, I found them unique, also compared with those from the m9, who are also beautiful and warm.
Hi supers photos and beautiful music 👍🏽
Thanks a lot
beautiful ❤️ thanks 🙏🏻

Very nice photos getting better every time - which lens did you use 24 mm or 28 mm Cron?
Thanks Roberto. For this photos I use a Elmarit 28, a Summicron 50, a Zeiss Sonnar 50 and a Elmarit 90
Thank you
I enjoy your videos. What camera system did you use before you went to Leica? And, did that system have only prime lenses?
Sean
Thanks Sean. Film Yashica fx3 & Minolta. I use them for my personal photography. And Sony a for travel and everyday shooting. I was a videographer who become a photography lover.
Does anyone know the name of this back ground music?
A quiet Thought and Anton. Both are abatable in the TH-cam music library ;-)
Your choice is great! Thanks for telling me:)
