- In this video we drill and tap the valve covers for -10 AN fittings to vent the crankcase pressure to a oil air separator (catchcan). This process can work for many different style valve covers but here I detail the process on a 1jzgte vvti.
Great write up online you can follow as well

Nice job! It's going to look really clean.
Thanks for watching!
@@StewartMotoring i love the look of it! Any reason why the 1jz and not the 2jz ? Iknow there both nice engines but just wondering 😁
Preda R6 initial cost. 1jz was at least 2k cheaper
@@StewartMotoring haha oke that makes sense! That's 2k more to spend on other things
It's looking good!
Just a couple tips. When using the tap I like to use wheel bearing grease on them. The heavy grease catches a lot more of the shavings then oil does. And I stay away from teflon tape on the engine. I use the paste sealer. The paste is less likely to cause any issues if any of it gets in the engine.
I can't wait to see you get this engine in back in your Z and hear it run in there!
no fkn tape inside the fitting, Fuck NO!
If you're ganna cry, just let me know
You're showing the incorrect method, your stuff no mine I guess! Never seen it Ever done that way except for cutting the hose, each to their own...It's Gonna BTW!
How NOT to tap lol
I agree that's it's a nice clean look. I like the black for the VC's rather than seeing a new colour on practical every component like some people do in their engine bay. Nice job.
Just so you know, the collar for the an fittings are actually reverse threads. When you go to install them on the hose just apply a little pressure and a little oil and spin it on backwards. It goes on really easy. Obviously theres no threads on the hose the collar will "thread" onto it.
Super Clean Brahh!
Aye finally another vid :)
Nice job so far man :)
I like the vise that's not being used haha but good shit
what were the exact fittings needed for this? And then what length of SS line did you use per side?
I said in the video. They are 10an fittings with 1/2npt threads. Thanks
You could just drill it out and weld on an bungs
If i remember right they are magnesium valve covers. Which are not easy to weld. I couldn't weld them would have to take them to somebody
what black paint is that?
Just some cheap rustoleum
Awesome!!!
