    You are getting ready for a trip around the world, XD, congratulations on how you are fitting your bike. I like the way it looks.

      Cheers for that! I am not sure Mrs Codger would agree, ha ha! But it is a thought 👍

    Great bags...they come in larger sizes if you need more storage. The XL size has 17L per side. Love how light these bags are and still allow you to carry a pillion if necessary unlike the Mosko Moto R80's.

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they work well for me. I have a top box if I need more, but prefer the bags. NOT cheap! 👍

      I'm also looking into getting these bags. Would an XL fit neatly on the 790 ADV as well?

      You might need an exhaust guard, such as the Enduristan Inferno.

    Hi Codger, Good news I've spoken to my local dealer today after sending them pictures of my second TFT with the misting up. He called KTM and they confirmed that there is a revision coming out in the new year 👏🎺. So based on this information I have decided to wait until after Xmas , then ask for update before putting in another warranty claim. Hopefully this will cheer up follow owners 😁

      Hi Gary. You are a star. Even Kevin never brought such good news!!!! I wonder if there will be a recall. I wonder also if I should sit tight then for now, it seems sensible. 👍

    Thanks for doing the vid on these bags. Im still on fence between these and the mosko 80's. Question is, I could see, when you opened up the bags, the dent of that sharp angle of the side plastic panels pushing into the bag. Would these work better with side panels off bike or do you thing they are needed to provide distance away from the bike and wheel for the bags. thanks, zim

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could probably use them either way. There is quite a lot of optional adjustment in the various straps and buckles to suit most bikes/configurations. They are expensive I think, but have proved useful on extended trips.

    Hi Codger, what kind of glasses do you wear, I would need a solution couse I have Astigmatism and I mostly ride without glasses and my eyes also do not withstand contact lenses. Bdw nice review! Thanks for reply!... bye

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers 👍 They are the ‘Large’. Only 12L each, but really useful.

      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am lucky in that I have become long-sighted so I do not need glasses to ride. But I like to have my visor open. So I tried those safety glasses you can see on the seat to protect me from insect strikes. I did not like them. So I went back to the internal sun visor inside the helmet. This week I changed my helmet. It has no internal visor, so I am back to thinking about it once more 👍

      I think you are gearing up for a thing ending in 8! Ha ha. I wish I had your patience/skill in editing/production. I've always been slapdash and I suppose it is too late to change. Lyndon's shop was the only place that did what they said they would, i.e. deliver the heatshield I had paid for. All you can ask for, it was here the following day. Respect. 👍

    • @CampbellZeroOne
      @CampbellZeroOne 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CodgerBiker Best way to get repeat customers is by offering them prompt delivery, and if you can't for one reason or another, keep them in the loop. I'd rather pay an extra couple of quid for that kind of service any day.
      GoPro 8 is super tempting but will have to wait until I can convince myself that I really need one. Hopefully this winter is a short one. More free time at this time of year but nothing to edit.

      Agree on all points. I’ll wait and see how the ‘media mod’ turns out. I’m happy with the 7. The glitches do happen, as you know (you warned me) but it’s manageable and does the job for my purposes (usually). If you get an 8 then you could do a winter vlogger’s review. I’ll be watching 😉👍✌️

    Hi Codger. I took the 790 adventure for a test ride today. I commented on one of your ealier blogs about changing 790 Duke for the adventure. The bike I took out had condensation droplets on top right of tft screen. Whilst waiting for the bike a gentleman came in and said he was there for a tft screen change. When I asked if it was a 790 adventure the ktm dealer said no but wouldn't elaborate. I said to him I'd seen you tube blogs about the screen and he said no one had complained. I took a picture of it but don't know how to upload it to show you.

      Hello. Well at least you are forewarned. I’m sure they’ll sort it in time, but it’s not something the dealers can deny. I still love the bike, it just fits me so I shall persevere... 👍

      @@CodgerBiker I loved it. They're going to ring me tomorrow with a price for my duke but I think I'll be losing too much money. If the price is right I'll have it.

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Anthony. Yes the price difference is BIG. Especially when you consider the Duke comes with QuickShift+and Sport/track modes as standard. Quickshift and Rally modes are extras on the 790adv (I think they are required as well as heated grips). Maybe you could negotiate to get those things thrown in (£600 worth). Just a thought. Good luck, both bikes are superb in any event.

    Nice review. I like the bright, high contrast material on the inside. Looking at going the same route on the Africa Twin. Hard top case and soft saddlebags. Though the straps over the seat are a concern as the Mrs does like to occasionally ride and my youngest is looking forward to riding pillion on his school run when the temps are a bit warmer. Perhaps an Airhawk pad would be in order.
    Peace!

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the way they sit on the bike. I did not have them when I had my AT. A pillion might fit, you’d have to see how the ergonomics panned out. Not cheap, but look like they’ll last. 👍

  • @davidhyde2267
    @davidhyde2267 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi, I'm looking at these atm, do they pinch in well with the straps to reduce the width if you dont fill them up?

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In terms of capacity they can be pinched right up to about half. Widthwise they are adjustable, across the seat, though I found once set I left them alone.

    Hi. Nice review. Do you think it would work to run the top straps under the seat to allow carrying the wifey?

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are adjustable. You’d end up lower on the exhaust, so would definitely need a guard. Also I find that rear seat has to be just perfectly positioned before it engages, so it might not click into place with those straps between it and the subframe.

    • @CodgerBiker
      @CodgerBiker  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can use it without if you tighten the straps (on the stock exhaust), on that side. It lifts it above. Slightly reduces the capacity. With the Wings it has its own guard so did not need the Enduristan heat shield. I would recommend the heatshield with the stock can.

      I think if the TFT is not sealed then that is likely (and good) as ventilation will remove moisture. I think these KTM units are sealed, so there is no where for the moisture to go, it will evaporate in warmth and condense in cold forever - inside the glass - , or until a component fails. They changed mine once already. 👍
