    Beautiful holster. I tend to go with leather pieces that have character as well.

      Thanks for stopping by santee. Yeah Duke makes great holsters. The older i get i am enjoying simple honest things with character.

    For fans of the guns and the show: Bohannon barely used his Griswold after joining the railroad. He upgraded to a '58 Remington for most of the show.

      I personally saw it sad that the show used a brass frame 1860 army colt as a Griswold and gunnison. They really messed that up.

    Good video and a great gun, the armor for He'll on wheels was an armature clearly.

      Thanks!! Yeah he really didnt seem to knowledgeable on historic firearms. Theres a video out there of the armor saying some pretty silly things.

    Very nice holster! I may have to contact Duke and see if he can make a custom holster that would fit my 1851, 1860, and 1858 snub nose revolvers.
    I am looking forward to seeing the G&G revolver upload.

    I would have done the same. It does give the holster character.

      @@snappers_antique_firearms that's my plan. I sent my Cullen Bohannon gunbelt back to MK Outdoor Journal Holsters and Leather goods for alterations. Eventually I'd like to have a Bowie knife and sheath made too. Thanx for the work you are doing to it and thanx for the work on the Leech & Rigdon.

    Sweet and a little eerie: Today I just replaced the gawd awful plastic grips (I had previously done so with some SAA Buffalo Horn ones but the fit was awful) that were shipped on my own Pietta Griwold and Gunnison replica with some standard Pietta 1851 Colt ones that fit well. I may need to contact Duke to get one of those holsters.. very very cool

    • @snappers_antique_firearms
      @snappers_antique_firearms  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah those plastic grips are the worst. The holster from duke is well worth the price.

      Thanks!!! i wish i could tell you that it's a great revolver. But every Griswold and Gunnison i have seen, the quality is just not very good. I still love this revolver and its history.

      @@snappers_antique_firearms it’s an amazing firearm for sure. I wish someone made a grip frame for the Pietta replica with the same angle as the original. I’d love to upgrade my replica so it would be somewhat more authentic.

      @@firearmsaddictloveguns i am working on that same thing with a friend squib load. I know garrett tried bending the pietta grip frame but it would just crack. I have a few ideas to make it work. I will be making a video on it if it works. But it will be a few months until i can get to it.

    • @firearmsaddictloveguns
      @firearmsaddictloveguns ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@snappers_antique_firearms that will be an awesome video. I was thinking it would have to be a new casting. A buddy and I are going to cast some Morko Guns out of bronze. I’m slowly working on the pattern. We are going to try the lost wax method to cast them. That should give the most detail. I’m videoing too.

    • @snappers_antique_firearms

      @@firearmsaddictloveguns if you get that to work and i am sure you will. That would be a big deal. If you need anything like the grip angles and that kind of stuff just let me know.
