Further, I'd like to say this is the best exhaust video I've seen on Vette exhaust, as well as others. Thank you for a common sense and informative video on BBB. I had these on two other corvettes and getting ready to modify my 2003 50th anniversary vette. I am looking forward to enjoying the new sound my car is capable of.
Very impressive presentation, congrats! Well researched and articulated, amazing for being one of today's young generation. Man is most affected by the audio-visual stimulation received...and indeed the sound made by a high performance car should reflect that. Factor in the dollar value and the end result, and yes the Billy Boat system delivers! I will look into that when I add a new exhaust system to my H-3. As a side note, I bought a 2003 Corvette with a Borla system, and yes I am a 75 year old man...but the drone effect does not bother me, just turn the sound up and it goes away. My black '03 C5 Z06 had the Billy Boats installed with the long tube headers. Sounds absolutely genuinely American fantastic. I spent over 15 years working in a muffler/exhaust shop. Seen most everything under the sun. Billy Boats are right at the top!!!
I have a 99 C5 with BB Bullets and the sound amazing with my Kooks long tubes, X pipe and Bullets!!!! Good video. I like the history lesson I didn’t not know about the origins of the company
When I bought my car it already had some goodies, long tube headers , x pipe and borla Attack cat back and it sounds amazing. Loud going threw the gears but very quiet on the hywy with no drown. I'am glad I didn't have to do it.

I had BillyBoat on my otherwise stock C5 Z06. It was great around town. But at 70mph+ the drone was annoying. I put in a trunk divider and it helped. I was planning to dynomat the interior but I ended up selling the car to a friend last week.
Hi been looking but is about same price as the Borla exhaust looking to spend around 700 but every things like 1300 to 1500. But your right I love the bill boats exhaust man
My BB axel back exhaust just arrived for my 2002. Not as low as 800 but under the price of Borla and Corsa, for sure. Ordered on 10/9 arrived at my door on 10/20. Can't wait to get it installed. I'm 70 and not concerned with drone.
Drone means different things for different people. I have a 2016 v6 mustang. Sounds amazing with the borla atak and x-pipe (zero drone but nice exhaust tone you can always hear). With the same x-pipe and slp lm2's it would drone so bad from 1800-2200rpm my teeth would rattle and eardrums would hurt after driving.
Both solid choices, can't really go wrong. I think the B&B gets a little louder at the top end, but it might just be my perception. Both really wake up the LS engine sound, especially on stock headers. Thanks for watching!
Great review as usual. Sorry went with Borla S Type on my C6 Vette. Attention getting when I’m pushing air through the Edelbrock SC and no cats AR headers, but not brain numbing droning when cruising on the interstate.

A friend of mine has a C5 ZO6 with the B&B Bullets on it. Along with LG Pro longtubes, catted X-pipe, Vararam ram air intake and a BBK throttle body. The car is fast and loud as hell. Best sounding exhaust for the C5, imo.
Absolutely! One of these days I'll get around to putting long tubes on mine. I don't think I'll ever part with it even though it's just a base C5. Hoping this channel will earn me a C8! Thanks for watching!
@@lanewarriorillridez3739 I believe (could be wrong) that the PRTs are quieter than the Bullets on my car. The Borla Stinger exhausts are like the BB Bullets: they’re essentially just pipes with almost no “muffler” chamber. Hope that helps! (For what it’s worth, I was going to get either the Borla Stingers or the BB Bullets and just happened to go with the Bullets.)
I was just gifted a 2K A4 Coupe from my mom. With 111,111 on the clock (no shit, even took a pic) it is due for an exhaust. After some sticker shock and considering I didn't want anything much louder than stock I went a different route. Picked up an OEM titanium Z06 exhaust for less than a G. Bolted on perfectly, a bit throatier than the base exhaust and the best part, about 30-35 pounds lighter than stainless.
Thanks for the great and fast comment on my post very impressive... now if you can just get BB to send me one for my 63rd birthday for my 2001 Millennium Yellow LS1 convertible I'd be your best friend forever lol... keep the videos coming.
Haha! You’re most welcome! Sorry I don’t have that kind of influence just yet, but my dad might have something to say about it since he also has a 2001 millennium yellow Corvette 😉👍🏻
Love the "drone" I thought thats what its all about. Its a American sportscar, modern day muscle. Suppose to be loud. We've turn into a bunch of pancies.
By drone I think most people are referring to unpleasant frequencies that can be caused by the Corvette’s large exposed cargo area (that’s what I’m referring to). Since there is no partition in the C5 separating the driver from that area, some exhausts unpleasantly boom in the open space. The B&B system keeps this to a minimum even in the aggressive pipes that I have. Hope that helps to explain it. Thanks for watching!
It's a bit boomy, definitely not quiet. Might be worth going with something like the BB Fusion, which gives you the option between wild and mild. It could wear on you if you drive longer distances.
@@jax1079 Yeah, I had their full 3" system with long tubes on my 07 Z51 and it was INSANELY loud at all speeds. Went to Z06 NPP and was much happier with that.

Hey Jack! Appreciate the knowledge xfr Bud! Have a few questions if you don’t mind tho, getting my 2003 or 4 C5 around end of this year -and wondering: 1. What is approx heat transfer under the hood? Read that lots of headers don’t carry out the heat well and I’m wanting to put long tube headers (unsure of brand) on my stock (at first 😎) C5. Will the BB’s help extricate more heat out the back than maybe others? Are they 2&3/4 or 3”? 2. Want ability to have dual-mode ‘cause a. Am an old man, & b. Don’t like/want tickets. How much does that option cost with BB’s on C5? 3. Plan to add a Very high lift lumpy but maybe streetable cam, the best heads/porting I can afford, and later, the biggest supercharger I can get to work well. What do you think works best in that long-term scenario? BB’s or another brand? As a final item, I won’t mind a quieter exhaust note as long as I can switch modes, and I do like to hear my V8, especially after cam. Thx for any help.
Thanks for watching! I don't have definitive first hand experience with some of this, but my thoughts are as follows: I've heard a bit about heat but honestly not much. With so much room in the engine bay (relatively speaking) and high flow radiators and fans being affordable, I can't imagine heat build up on a C5 would be much of an issue. (Have a couple buddies who race them in NASA and don't ever remember heat related issues.) B&B has a model called the Fusion that might be what you're looking for. It's more expensive, but it's a dual mode "mild to wild" setup that's also supposed to drone less at highway speeds. That might suit your goals perfectly. Hope that helps! Best of luck and thanks for watching! 🙏🏻

The Bullets don’t really have mufflers. B&B has different levels of exhaust (as well as a fusion version that can be switched between loud and reasonable), but the Bullets are pipes only.

Axel back. Cats are much farther forward on the C5. Need long tube headers (and an X pipe) to cover the whole system. When combined with the whole thing, the Bullets would be even louder 😉👍🏻
Sound is important. However, performance is THE most important. I have factory Z06 on all my c5 vettes. Lowest restriction system available. And quiet! Know the biggest thing you can do to your c5 exhaust? Replace the base car midpipe with a Z06 midpipe. Increases flow 16% by deleting the precats!
Loved my Billy Boat Bullets on my C5. The tone was spot on. With cam, headers and no cats it was just too loud tho. Switched over to a Z06 Ti axle back...now it’s too quiet. 😫
I've actually heard a number of people do the same thing: they go big on the custom, get too loud, dial it back to the C5 Z06 exhaust, and then miss the noise. 🤣 Have you looked into the BB Fusion lineup with the baffles to switch between quiet and loud? Might be a good happy medium. 😉👍🏻
JAX Thanks for the reply and suggestion! I’ve actually considered the Fusion as a potential replacement. I just can’t get past the price tag. 🥴I might actually go with cutouts on the xpipe. 👍
drone sounds on the drive by, dont like it on dodge either, sounds best on the mustang... honestly the corsa catback is the best sounding on both the c5 and cts v caddy, not quite ferrari but the corsa does have a more precise rip sound to it
Too bad that exhaust is about $1,200 now in 24’. I really want one still, especially because I can then work with their long tubes with cats and keep it legal until no longer inspected. Then throw on the test pipes 😂
Bought my 04 Z06 w/LT's, bullet cats, and an unknown Corsa catback. I absolutely LOVE the sound. It's very nice in the car and not too loud. What when I go heavy throttle... holy cow is it loud. Zero drone and I even drove it 2500 miles last summer on a road trip. Never got annoying at all. I love it! This is me on the Tail of the dragon w/windows down and no music. Thanks for the info. Kinda thinking I will just do the bypass on the original equipment. BTW its peace, or two beers lol
Haha! Good point! Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Is the exhaust axle back? Or cat back?
Axel back. Cats are much farther forward on the C5. Need long tube headers (and an X pipe) to cover the whole system. When combined with the whole thing, the Bullets would be even louder 😉👍🏻
@@jax1079 They sound really good. Best yet ive listened to. I am one of the few who WANT drone and deeper tones.
PMR Completely agree 😉👍🏻
I paid around $100.00 each for Cherry Bomb mufflers for my FRC and they about the same as those, at least to me.
Nice! Great value 👍🏻
This is true. Great point 👍🏻
What is the cheapest BILLY BOAT EXHAUST that I can get for my c5?
This one with just two pipes
Did Billy Boats 2 years ago
Nice!
i think we all hear the same thing when we think of the vq35de
This is true! Thanks for watching! 🙏🏻
I have a c5 looking for the exhaust system you have can you email me the part number
Thanks
Easy enough to find by name. Billy Boat Bullets, just type into the search of vendors like Southern Car Parts.
A worthy alternative 😉👍🏻
60 year old woman ♥️♥️♥️
I'm sorry. The Corsa exhaust sounds better and more menacing IMO. Billy boat is cheaper for a reason.
drone sounds on the drive by, dont like it on dodge either, sounds best on the mustang... honestly the corsa catback is the best sounding on both the c5 and cts v caddy, not quite ferrari but the corsa does have a more precise rip sound to it
I do agree that the Corsa exhaust has an amazing sound, but you pay for it.
I’m sold at 65
Too bad that exhaust is about $1,200 now in 24’. I really want one still, especially because I can then work with their long tubes with cats and keep it legal until no longer inspected. Then throw on the test pipes 😂
Yeah, I feel pretty fortunate to have picked this up when I did. It was a steal back then.
I'm a 70 year old man and I like drone
Love to hear it!
(my stupid GPS was on though and telling me to turn LOL...) th-cam.com/video/_-tDqV9ac34/w-d-xo.html
btw... 54yr old
NIce! LOVE IT!
Yeah if you own an Audi, BMW or a Porsche, there is another option out there. Buy a Corvette.
No I'm 77 04 convertible black black I've had 10 years
Yes
idk why i even bother watching videos like this i will probably never mod my C5 unless it breaks and i have to pull it apart any way
Oh yeah...........
Agree
I've come to the conclusion 8 germans watched this video lol
Bahaha! Quite possibly!
I’m 67, lol
Bull. Billy boats are just as spendy as corsa
Or you could just look at actual numbers.... 🤷🏼♂️
Google sweet Corvette on you tube my video is 30 second's long... It's my C 5 year 04 BTR STAGE 4 cam no cat's
Nice! Love a free breathing LS!
@@jax1079 thanks
