Finally got to meet Mike on my stopover in Phoenix while en route from Texas to Palm Springs. Great guy, great store and I managed to replace a lost copy of a classic Jazz Funk album he didn’t realize he had in stock. Look forward to my next visit.
Stunning lot! Love that Xray Spex album. Love all these, haha. I have read that the 1st Canadian pressing of Zep III is the best. It clears up a lot of the muddiness. I wonder which mix the Japanese self-titled Velvet Underground has. Love to see The Move. I was just playing my own UK copy of Looking On with that great Fly label last night.
Everyone suit themselves, but I don't understand collecting records and not playing them as great as they sound on decent equipment! No, just keep them sealed for 40 years till they get nice and warped (great possibility)! But hey, to each his own!😅😅
Still sealed means you don’t collect records you essentially collect covers. Records are meant to be played. I don’t endorse keeping them sealed at all! So lame.
7:09 3.75 years ago guy was dumping his stash from DC and Baltimore AOR MD/PD relative. $19 for gold seal promo copy of The Wall w/o timing strip. I bought everything he had. He didn't know what he had.

8:25 Guy has the Banana Peel/Censored cover version for 40 years ($100 behind the counter in early 80s) and rarely played it. Tragic. I have 1000s of lps but I LISTEN to them all. Is why I never buy sealed vintage. Always NM- and opened.
This is what i plan on doing, im buying records at an average price of $50, im keeping them sealed and in 20 yrs time ill sell them at an average price of $30. Winning 😂
I know this comes up all the time, but people who buy up tons of records to never listen to them just blows my tiny mind. It's like when rich people buy up great art to seal it in a vault for 50 years. This is not the function of art. And every time I try to buy a great record only to be beaten to the punch by 50 rich dudes who will never crack that seal is disheartening... until they eventually divest their collection because they want to tour Europe or something.
To be fair we all have mostly the same opportunity to buy these when they are released, but yeah... not opening them is ridiculous unless you're buying 2 copies of each.
Another maniac collector who didn't even listen to their vinyl. What a life lol.
Some people live to collect, if it brought them joy good for them
Actually it seems like most of them are not sealed later in the video.
@dcfitz75 yeah there's only a few that are still sealed...

I'm drooling here...
I'm stoked. My wallet is a little nervous, but we'll both be there.
Man, I would love that Holst UHQR!
Very nice stuff Mike. Too rich for my blood no doubt
Mike he loved Japanese pressings, your favorite lmao
There's going to be a lot of folks happy this Christmas, good luck all!

That's some collection that. If I was a millionaire I would of made you an offer for the whole lot. But I'm poor. Lol 😆
Ok we all need to agree not to bid so I can clean house at $10 a pop 😆
Manythnx 🤘
Where's the Record expert bit 😅😅😅😅😅😅

“He didn’t know what he had”
One of the record collector’s favorite things to say
I love "learning to fly" from "momentary lapse of reason" ! My generation of "pink Floyd" , not as great as the 60s and 70s generation!
IWC Top Gun in white ceramic? Fine choice.
Spot on. Love ceramic.
The Floyd album is Ummagumma, not Ugamagama. lol

Shame I’m not allowed to buy records from you 😢😢😢
Why not. What did you go?

Old habits die hard
Box sets were made to keep sealed. Buy, die, and pass along. Rinse repeat.
Cry me a river. This guy did it to make money, and boy is he going to clean up.

@@lps4eloise779there’s more to life than $$$. He could have bought stocks and bonds if that was the case.
Don't waste your time. If you think discog is over priced just wait
Oh yeah! The last time he did an auction with this kind of stuff these idiots were overpaying as much as 4x what something’s were worth.
