    I have a problem that when I use an 8 string guitar, it won't play lower than C2 even though I've changed the pitch to an A#1. Same with every string that's tuned lower than C2. It can do tunings lower than standard but once it goes lower than C2, no sound plays. This makes the open and first few frets play no sound. Why does it do that?

      I'm not sure? I've never played an 8 string guitar, but shouldn't the strings be: F# B E A D G B E? I'm trying to work out where the A# comes in?

      @@yourguitarscore4601Its tuned down a half step. I think I figured it out though. The vst I was using didn't have samples lower than C2, so it couldn't play the notes lower.

      @@LattimoreNatalie OK, so you really like that low end :-). That would probably explain it-glad you were able to figure it out there.

    Once I have the tab correct, I'd like to "save as" and write another chart of the same song with just chords (without the TAB lines)...is that possible?
    Thank you

      @yourguitarscore4601  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm sure it's possible. I would just do as you said: save as, and then change only the parts you want to be different on the 2nd version?

    This is great video and your explanation is Spot on. Could you advise or even better make a video on adding a Capo throughout the whole tune. I'm not sure I am doing it right. TIA

      Thanks for that-really glad you've found it helpful. Do you mean how to add a capo on the score so that you can hear it capoed in the playback?

    How to write notation for different positions.. like second or fifth position???

    How would we display to the reader that the guitar is in an alternate tuning? How could we display that on the tab in musescore 4?

    • @yourguitarscore4601

      I just use stave text. Just click on the first note of your tab to highlight it, then go to the left sidebar to palettes. Under palettes, go to text > stave text. That'll anchor a text box to the note you selected on the tab. From there you can edit the text (e.g. to say something like 'Drop D Tuning') and drag it to the position above the tabs where you'd like it to appear. Hope that makes sense 🙂

    I'm new to this program and your videos are really helpful, I would like to know how do I add slides/pull offs/harmonics/ghost notes to my tabs so could you please help me with that. I can't find anything helpful online when it comes to this software. Thank you

      Thanks very much-I'm glad to hear the vids are helping someone. Sure, I'll try to make some videos around those topics soon. Musescore is an amazing tool, but at this point it's still a little clunky when it comes to guitar-related stuff. For example, you can add hammer-ons and pull-offs to a score, but you won't hear them as such on playback. The same is true of bends etc. But if you realise that and keep your expectations fairly low, you can still use it quite effectively :-)

      @@yourguitarscore4601 I've been using the "tie" option to let myself know that I'm using hamer ons and pull offs, but I don't know how to add the "H" and "P" letters on that same position. I'm also having problems when I want to make a note ring out into the next measure, in tabs it's usually written by putting the note in brackets but instead of making the note longer, the software just plays it again. I tryed to turn it off the same way you turned off the chords in your videos but I wasn't successful with that. Thank you again for all your help. :)

      @@andreeyah. For Hammer ons and pull offs I use the slur (looks kinda like a tie, but it has a different function-it's right there next to where you find the tie). For the H and P I just use staff text. It's a bit of a hack, but it does the trick.
      As for holding notes over to the next measure, that's where you'd use a tie. Just click on the note in the previous measure, then click the tie option, and the note should hold over the barline instead of playing twice.
      I'll have to do vids of these things, much easier to understand that way :-)
