Having been using Puma's DN2, DNE3 and Foreverrun the last year or so, I really disagree with the "it's expensive for a Puma" statement. As far as I'm concerned Puma is top notch and I would definitely not give more for other brands just for the brand. If anything, I'd pay more for a Puma over a Nike or Adidas.
I have exactly the same rotation of Puma shoes, and the durability is outstanding, my first pair of ForeverRun has 800km and the outsole is still great. The midsole is a bit flat but is still good enough for a short, easy run.
THIS MAGMAX IS THE BEST EVER I HAD ! I absolutely adore it ...I have run 60 km in those shoes ...my legs were still fresh and it was quite responsive ! this is definitely the best Long run shoe for me ..I don't agree with you with the price...for the quality of it , the grip the fantastic ride that s a very a good price
Puma Magnify Nitro 2 weighs slightly less, is also very comfortable and well cushioned, but a bit wider. And costs about £35 less at RRP. Essentially it does the same job at a significantly lower price.
Just bought a 3rd pair in an old colour way (red) for £58.50 plus shipping from Start Fitness - what a bargain! Go half a size down in these because they are wide/long.
I don’t notice the drop and the Magnify 2 has a very smooth rocker. The Forever Run is a stability shoe and the Velocity Nitro 3 has less and inferior foam. The Mag Max has superseded the Magnify (which is why they are so cheap now) so I’d be surprised if there was a version 3. The best thing I can say about these shoes is that I prefer them on long runs to the ASICS Superblasts.
Puma Magmax and Asics Superblast 2, for best shoes of the year!!! The Magmax is a bit heavier than the Superblast 2, but delivers nearly the same performance wise. Plus they are cheaper.
Good shoe ! I cannot run fast in it without sinking in too much and hip pain but I think it is perfect for recovery cruising . I’m a fan of the grip in wet . I am 200 lbs and 6’1” and kind of big and musclular for distance running and puma mag max feels plenty soft to me at my weight. I cannot run faster than 8 min miles without hip pain ; I have Boston 12 and now a superblast 2 and they are my faster tempo shoes , possible to run slow but much prefer puma for all my easy runs . It is by far the best recovery shoe I have ever tried .
I'm smitten with them too. I bought them on a lark and they quickly became my favorite daily shoe. That outsole is amazing and not just good on wet roads, I have done some trail running with them. Great video.
Can't wait to start running with my Magmax ! Just waiting for the mailman ... I really wanted another high cushioning shoes that could handle well in raining runs like my Gel-Nimbus 26. The Vomero 17, Nova Blast 4, Wave Sky 8 and Invincible 3 are fantastic shoes, but not in wet surfaces unfortunately.
I've still never tried a Puma shoe. Maybe someday....though I'd need something a little wider. I picked up the Superblast 2 last week and look forward to giving that one a good testing. I never tried the original....I did try a few times but it was nowhere to be found in my size U.S. 13.
ordered... had the Brooks G max from brooks and it has gone back, lovely shoe but seems to make my arch sore, not quite Plater F i hope just sore for a few days. hoping the puma will be as nice a ride, nicer than the tooo squisyness of my MoreV5.
I've been training for a half-marathon since mid September that is going to be on November 28th and I am registered for another one in march. My goal for the one in November is 1:45 or better. Hypothetically speaking, if I achieve that goal, would you consider 1:35 a realistic goal for the next one?
@@61js Thanks. 10 minutes is a pretty big improvement to make in such a relatively short timeframe. I'm not sure if 1:45 is realistic either. My PB is 1:49:12 but I was also in better shape back then.
They are very expensive in some country like UK and Australia, but super cheap in other countries like US and Hong Kong (HK$999) which is like 40% off the price in Australia here ...
Thanks for the tip about lighter runners. I just saw a preview on the Glycerin 22 with DNA Tuned, which might be a good cushioned shoe for us little guys.
I think these would be a good option for me, but the width will be an issue. I've struggled with some Puma shoes previously as they have been too narrow.
Wish it had their Nitro Elite foam in then it would be an absolute banger IMO. That Nitro foam on its own is just a little too firm for my liking. I sent the Glycerin Max back today as well, wasn't as fun to run in as my Prime X2 Strung so refund inbound on that one.
@@paulmulks I inferred by your mention solely of upgrading the foam that this was the only change in the design you were proposing. I agree that If they went to a much softer foam, it would make a big difference IF they added some sort of stiffening agent such as a plate or a firmer carrier foam layer. But I do think that 40 mm plus of the most recent soft racing foams In a shoe without some sort of stabilization added to the design would probably be a mess. You can counter that the Asics Superblast 2 uses a tall stack of Asics' top tier racing foam, but that shoe works because (1) FFTurbo+ is among the firmest of all the superfoams in use, and (2) they added a thin layer of a training foam (FF Blast + Eco I think) to the bottom of the midsole for additional stability.
Reviewers are being too nice to this shoe. It's unrefined, dodgy quality with heel slip. The stack interrupts your stride. It's not for everyone and puma rushed it.

This guy didn't get paid by puma which is why the comment. Dont believe 100% BS 😂😂😂😂
100% I only have the Puma DN2s but they feel very premium. They feel more dialed than many of the shoes I have from other brands.
in Hong Kong, the retail price at PUMA official store is £99 GBP equivalent. I bought it with a 20% discount. Worths every penny👍🏻

I completely agree. My first pair has gone over 900 kms and the 2nd pair cost £90 plus shipping.

Love mine. I tried the MagMax because I like the MN2 so much but prefer the MN2.
was interested in these but not a fan of 10mm offset. whats the dif between magnify/velocity/forrever run?
also is manify nitro 3 coming out soon?

Thanks Ben. Yes would really like to try this one but not at £170. Keep looking on eBay but a size 10 not come up yet but when it does I’ll grab it 👍

Great shoe, so much so I’ve bought 3 pairs, 93kg and agree this is excellent for bigger runners.😊

You can get the Magnify Nitro 2 for £65. It’s essentially last years MagMax. It’s a really good shoe

I bought them for 130 USD in my country, so it was nobrainer.

I would decide after the 28th after experiencing the effort required. Good luck.

Not sure, I’m 62 kgs and this shoe works really well for me in easy and long runs but also doing some strides picking up the pace. Love them
@@shakokken Thanks. I do like the Nitro in the DN2.

asics gel nimbus 26 vs Puma MagMax?

45mm of Puma's current race foam and no plate? Sounds like an unstable mess.
@MLHunt Who said anything about not using a plate? I was referring to the better midsole foam in the elite shoes

@MLHunt Couldn't agree more 👍🏻
In Australia the Magmax is $280 and the Brooks Glycerin Max is $350. So it is cheap for a Puma and compared to the competitors.
Bought them. Ran 20 metres. Unrunnable.
Hi Ben, great video. This or the nimbus? Thanks
wonder if u will try out the glideride max?
I grabbed this shoes for 100USD in Hong Kong, definitely a good deal for long run shoes, also use it as a great companion with Superblast as well
Did you buy them on the official Puma Hong Kong Website?
@@KiNgLuDaCrIsHDYes, I have grabbed it from the official Puma store in Hong Kong during the promotion period
Would this shoe work well in a rotation with the mach 6
What would be a good alternative for lighter runners?
I’m 62 kgs and this shoe works really well for me. Go try for yourself
Velocity Nitro or Deviate Nitro 2 or 3
what is a heavy runner vs a light runner? think I'm probably a heavy runner... but want to check
Is this suited for heavier runners?
would you pair this with puma magnify + or are they too similar?
Puma... Picking up where Superblast availability is an issue. £50 over priced for me.
Puma Nitro Magnify 2 is a better option. Does the exact same job but at a much lower price.
Why the second channel? 😮
Comrades 2025? Sounds like a viable option
Too narrow at front, tongue gusset also protrudes internally quite badly
peba or tpu? every channel says a different compound
can you even trust a guy who likes every big brand shoe?
