Hmmm the Naga people have more east asian features and not Austronesians I'm from Manipur and they nagas are our neighbours
FYI, Austronesians were originally from East Asia about 5,000 years ago. The slight decline in similarity between NE Indians and Austronesians are due to certain factors such as the climate, food, and others.
Austronesians in general are still classified under the monolid-eyed group. 😅
Filipinos (including Igorots) are Austronesians (except the Aeta tribes referred to as the Afro-Filipinos). NE Indians aren't Austronesians.
The similarity to the physical attributes and culture is due to the fact that Austronesians were originally from East Asia about 5,000 years ago (approx. 3,000 BCE). However, Austronesians didn't descend from the Chinese.

I am an Angami Naga, I can tell from your eyes, your lips, your skin and your nose whether you are mixed or not. I want to confirm that the Nagas in general don't share much similarities with the Igorots.

Through oral tradition we(Naga) are taught that we come from Mongolia through China and Burma from Cave. We Lotha Naga was taught by our ancestor that our script was eat.. by dog because the script was written on the leather.
That is also our struggle as igorot because we don't have solid script from our ancestors... thanks for the info...
Once one elderly man (now his age might be above 75+) come to my college and offers us a sponsor to go to China to take research but since we are not a historian..so no one decide..to go to China, the old man told us that he went to Burma and he found our people (Naga Lotha)in Burma who speak same language as we(lotha) use same traditional clothe...etc.I'm not historian but as I found your video I can't stop to share what I come across..
Thanks for sharing... for thousands years... we haven't heard about naga people from our elders and parents, and even in school. By surprise nowadays, we notice naga people correlates similarities that made us interested. Through sharing of information in TH-cam could help both tribe to know each other. Hope, sooner than later, there will be a scientific study presented to the public as official.
Oh,I remember the story that Grandma told us when I was young ,she says the story was happened before the split of Naga tribes and the story was much more similar from the Chinese animated move called (The enchanted Mountain) since it was oral story many people and the tribes of Naga's has they way of saying.however their is no deer /Duck and the mother of the hero but the character in our lotha oral story has The emperor (god)The 8 fairy's(god daughters),the spinster (anti-hero ,who want to Marry the hero by killing the heroin who is one of the fairy but could not success instead of die..she the fairy come back to life ).

Our Ao naga traditional costume and igorat costume has similarities, with the pattern and colours. Should look more into it
