I cannot wait until you build your beautiful farmhouse …what a wonderful piece of land and to have a river to swim in that close is terrific. Nothing better than country farm living 🥰
Loved the recipes (and sourdough) and seeing your property. As a Mama (now Grandma) that had 3 children that were raised on a lake, I get your fear of water. Water should be respected and safety and rules from a very early age. I also think it is so important for everybody to learn how to swim. Have a great weekend Laura! Gonna start some sourdough very soon! Cannot wait!
You can do the Heat Transfer Method. Add the hot lye mixture to the oils (no need to melt the butter and oils) blend to trace, add scent and pour into molds. As a professional soapmaker I have been doing this for yrars.
Such a fun video. A great way to spend the day with your babies. I can't believe you already got the pond filled in. Your property is so nice. I can see a beautiful home in that clearing. Ty.
I thought i saw a similairity in both of you. I had wondered if you were sisters. So glad you mentioned it. You both cook about the same way. Love watching
I love when you share content of your farmland and adventures there. I hope you can show more of that incoming videos. It would also be fun to see the process of you building your home on the farm as well.
I still have to try the sourdough in my bread machine. Always so much to look forward to; watching your channel. What a beautiful river for the kids to swim. Really great it is close by.
Congratulations Lisa and family! 🎉 What a cutie! I had my 7th in February and had been used to prodromal labour happening off and on for at least a month, but this one it was only 3 times in the very last week. My 6th was my easiest most spiritual and painless birth and was almost identical to the 2 previous, only more in tune with the Lord. This birth was not like the other 3, and I almost expected it to be "as good" or easy as the last one. It did go well, but I struggled to let go and deeply relax and it was harder/longer getting to transition. I usually get the oxytocin shot and declined it this time and felt like I had slightly milder/shorter after cramping.
I have always felt the same way about water. I never wanted it on our property, since it is difficult to properly monitor it when you are busy, but it is fun to go swimming when that is your focus. I love your channel!
Love the health aspect of sourdough!! Ive Celiac disease and sourdough is all i can have, i also use Einkorn so that really helps!! Great idea, and video... blessings ❤❤
I appreciate all the hard work you do to share all these inspiring meals and housework. I enjoy seeing the fraction of a second of your family. It makes it feel like more of a realistic day in the life of a homemaker while still being somewhat private. This is meant as a positive comment from a mom of many to another :) Pax et bonum.
Laura, so cool normally dilute lye in filtered water, before adding to any oils. Think I tried diluting it into something else before but saw in your video that you dilute it in coconut milk can only guess, that will help make it creamier?
Hi Laura, I tried using Castile soap + water for my dishes before and it left my glasses with that murky look they didn’t look clean. I didn’t add any essential oils. Does the oil help with that?
I have hard water and my dishes will always come out murky looking if I don’t use a rinse aid. I use white vinegar as the rinse aid and it works perfect every time 😊
I’m definitely going to try the bread machine sourdough….I start to spin with the 2 day stretch and fold. My first loaf was magnificent and it was downhill from there🤣🤷🤷🤷
Were beef/hay farmers in WI.(on 200 acres) I would recommend looking into grazing cattle on the fields. Beef meat makes more income then hay at least here (square bales are $ 5.00 or less). We make 200+ 1,500 lb. round bales that we feed back to the animals. When we sell the meat we make $ 3,000+ on a whole animal & we almost always have our own 100% grass-fed beef(we also sell calves & have a waiting list (just our opinion ;) =
We will move into a new how next month, it has a glass top stove, I see you use your cast iron on it, no problems? I thought I couldn’t use cast iron on glass top range.
I've used cast iron for years on my glass top stove, just don't slide them so it doesn't scratch it. I don't usually heat higher than medium, I think I saw somewhere that higher can cause issues, but I dont remember, honestly it heats well at or below 2.
No, we’ve been making it now. We just picked up an older bread machine from a thrift store. We press the knead or dough function then let it rise then hit the start button. It’s very easy and is very good sandwich bread. I had to just do it so I could figure it out and it took a couple of tries to get it nice and big so just go for it, you’ll love it!
Maybe this is personal for you but just curious…do you and your sisters barter for milk, eggs and meat for each other or do you pay each other? How many sisters are there? Do you have any brothers?
I make this in Pyrex bowls sometimes but usually in a long Pullman loaf pan. I've tried sourdough starter so many times but it was always a failure. I make this bread every week; can t live without it! I put half in the freezer and pull it out when I finish the other half so none goes bad. Enjoy!
@@nancyfarkas3592 everything else is homemade but the mayo, and her sister makes it homemade on farmhouse on Boone, plus it's crazy easy!!! I was just wandering why, because everything else was homemade
Curious about the name of your channel. Where does it come from/what does it mean? I have to be honest, I find it kind of repulsive. Good content, though.

Laura, the soap looks so pretty.🫶🏻
Thank you!!
Would love other sourdough recipes using the bread machine functions :)
Hi I was wondering what kind of flour you use ? Thanks ☺️💕
Is this your property that you bought? Smart move on the water. Fun for you to share your own farm experience with your kids.
Building in such a low point won't water collect there during heavy rain seasons. ????

Same problem. We tried so many DIY dish soaps before caving & switching to Palmolive free and clear that gets an "A" from EWG.

Does the bread machine have to have a sourdough setting? I have one but it doesn’t.

Nope! Mine doesn't have a sourdough setting! I got mine on Amazon and it wasn't very expensive. I have it linked in the description box 😊
Thank you!

Enjoyed.

Why do so many do sourdough to make bread? I don't have sourdough and would love bread recipes not using sourdough
Sourdough has many health benefits compared to other breads. The internet probably has tons of recipes of "other breads" just for you! 😀
Have you tried the popular Pyrex bowl no-knead bread recipe? It's so good and easy and I make it every week. Makes the best toast.

Confused. You don’t want a phone near your home for fear of kids drowning but let them go play in the river?
You should wear safety glasses.
I always do when working with lye. 😊
She did 😃. Perhaps you missed the very beginning when she started with the lye and slid them on..🙃
