- The famed "River of Presidents" and a Class 1 trout stream, the Bois Brule is an ideal paddle along a crystal clear river through the Brule River State Forest. The river is mostly spring fed, assuring that the water levels are consistent throughout the season. The northern half of this river, above US 2, offers more rapids suitable for confident paddlers, but much of the rest of the river is gentle and perfect for beginners. Landings are clearly marked and nicely maintained. So join me if you will for a relaxing paddle down the crystal clear waters of the Bois Brule River.

Wow!! So enjoying your footage!! Ty for sharing:)
Ahh, thank you very much, glad you enjoy it…And you’re welcome.
Awesomeness
I may steal your self shuttle idea. Brilliant.
Yep, the Monkey makes a perfect shuttle.
What is the shuttle system you are talking about? I see the motorcycle getting used, but if the canoe is going downstream, how does the rider get back to it?
Wow, and no life jacket.
Living life on the edge.
Beautiful paddle! I loved watching you handle the rapids and the dirt bike rides were fun!!
Ah thanks Sis.
I’m a new subscriber totally digging your style. Your videos are refreshing. That was also a very graceful descent. You make such small, gentle corrections in the swifts. You seem to just move with the boat and keep it out of trouble. You don’t horse your way through. Is that a royalex canoe? It’s quite a narrow beam isn’t it?
Thank you, I've been at it a long time so I guess that by this time the moves just come naturally without the need to think. It is a royalex Wenonah Argosy, it's a shorter boat with a wide beam for good maneuverability in the rapids. I bought it used a few years ago.
@@nemadjihermit thanks. Maybe it’s just wide angle lens effect making me think the canoe is more narrow.
On the lower river from HWY two to the lake, With current flows 150 CFS to 300CFS is it still safe to float in the spring?
It should be, I did portage around the ledges.
@@nemadjihermit how far is that portage? I also dm you on instagram with a few more questions. Thanks in advance!
It’s fairly long and not too easy, but I wasn’t planning on running the rougher sections. No problem.
well done! thanks for taking us along for the ride. Curious, never did get a good look at your ride. Canoe brand and model? would like to know. it seems very stable and responsive.
Thank you, glad you joined me. It’s a Wenonah Argosy, short and wide for easy maneuverability.
@@nemadjihermit I guessed the Argosy but surprised you can actually sit in yours. Mine is 2008-2009 model.
Good video! What kind of motorcycle is that?
Thank you...That's my Honda Monkey!!
How long is this river?
The Brule is 44 miles long starting from its source near upper St. Croix lake.
@@nemadjihermit ok 👍. Thank you. I can place my mind to it now. I’ve done the Namekagon River 110 and about same on st Croix.
Very nice, the Namekagon is on my list for this summer.
@@nemadjihermit could see about 3 dams/portages (no problem) and a low bridge. Coyotes run dirt trails.
That looked like a fun trip. How do you like the Argosy? What layup is it? It looks confidence inspiring. I have had my eye on them
It was a fun trip. I like the Argosy, I got it specifically for doing these solo river trips and it works very well for that. I had to buy it used so I could get it in royalex.
Pissed off a lot of fishermen good for you!
Actually the ones I did run into were pretty chill. I chatted them up.
New boat?
Yep, bought it used a couple of years ago, a Wenonah Argosy in royalex.
