Fabulous video, great photography. I very much enjoyed watching. While I’ve done more than 40 canoe trips in the BWCA, Quetico, Caribou Woodlands, etc. your videos have motivated me to get up and get started earlier in the morning. That’s my goal on a 13 day solo trip in a couple weeks. Thanks!

@@robertsturm Thanks for the great comment. Mornings are the best time of day in the boundary waters in my opinion, but I think many people sleep in and miss them. So I like to show them what they’re missing in my videos.

Approximately 3:27 to set up the tent. I have new challenge! You attack ever portage and ever paddle with grace. Excellent cinematography regarding the baby loons and mom calling out. I would love to know what just one of those meals were?? I have my first solo trip coming up in 2-1/2 weeks. Thanks so much for your inspiration

@@miksretirementadventures9795 Thanks for the great comment, it’s much appreciated. As far as the food goes, they’re just your typical variety of meals from a company called Valley Food Storage. I bought a big supply online and they taste good enough for me. Enjoy your first solo trip, I’ll be doing a few more before the season ends.

Nice video like always. You do a great job of capturing the authentic experience and I love playing your videos while I work. How are you keeping those dinners you make good without ice? It looks like you are making enough for 2-3 days.

Another great video! Thanks for spending time to include natural sound without tons of voiceover or background music.
Do you bring a liquid fuel stove too or rely on the stick stove?

@@darrengladstone3159 Thank you very much. Yeah I’m done with the background music, a big part of the Boundary Waters experience is the silence, so why not emphasize that.
Nope, I do not bring any other method for cooking, just the Littlbug.

Another great Video. How were the water levels for that time of the year. Were beaver dams a issue. I'm guessing you had to do a few pull overs. How long did it take you to complete this route. I like this type of trip, small creeks/river twisting winding. I might put this route on the schedule for next year.

@@airmorse Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it. The water levels weren’t too bad. Of course on a trip like this you’ll always encounter a few beaver dams. I did go upstream for a considerable portion of this trip but it wasn’t that difficult. I completed this route in six days. You can see the distance I covered each day on the accompanying maps.

    Excellent video as usual.
Was your trip before the big storm/monsoon? I've spent a lot of time camping on or near Lake of the Woods and I've never experienced that continual calm in your video. Depending on the timeline, I wonder if that storm knocked down the pesky critters.
    Either way, again, awesome videos.

@@RMR-u2b Thanks….Only had a few sprinkles on this trip. I normally get an early start and do the majority of my filming before the wind starts to pick up in the afternoon. Also if it is windy I wait until I’m in a calm spot before I film. The deer flies were a nuisance at times but overall the bugs weren’t too horrible.
