A pencil popper would have been more effective. And for all those saying take the teaser off, i have caught plenty of bass on a bottleneck popper with a teaser on.
Listen, you MUST be careful with your Battle Reel. It's a good reel. But problem is, it isn't Sealed. So the seawater will get in your gears etc and completely rip it apart. You were definitely wading too deep with that reel so it needs to be cleaned now. Take the time to take it apart, clean it out, and grease it up. If you like Penn, then try the Spinfisher
Good size blue fish you got there . I might try to get out and catch something later today as I looks like the last warm weather we’re gonna have in the 60s on Monday. I always find blues tend to hit the metal jigs and lures in the water and strippers seem more attracted to the top water as well.
Thanks for the vid. I was debating to go surf fishing but was concerned with the wind the and surf to be too strong. Surf looks not high at all. Was this this weekend?
Seems all the best fishing is on the NJ shore. Wish I lived down there. Pretty much sucks up here in New Hampshire, although I did get one this summer under the bridge at Hampton/Salisbury on a 4" Moonwalker. Just under the limit at 26" (needs to be in the 28-31" slot up here). Nice vid!
Also, the bottle plug you shouldn’t jig and be erratic with your reeling. That could be why you didn’t hook up. It has beautiful action just keep your rod tip down and have a steady retrieve.
Thanks man ill try that technique next time I go out there. I was being lazy and didn't want to tie another leader and left the teaser on. Didn't think once of just removing it lol
So after that video try bridge creek in Staten Island please 🙏 i subscribed to your channel please 🙏 man you will like 👍 it i promise please 🙏 try it after that video please 🙏
@ronnysavage I'm gonna go to the bait shop and see about the shimano saragosa, daiwa mg if I don't like either of those maybe I'll surge and get the van staal
@FishingWithLou I've been surf fishing for 50 years. Any good quality reel is good if you don't dunk it under the water. Salt x reels are great and so are Penn spinfisher bailess reels. Both under 300 dollars.
Go fishing in bridge creek in Staten Island western avenue it a saltwater wetland there are crabs flounders and striped bass please 🙏 fish there in the next video please 🙏 i support your channel please 🙏 fish there in the next video please 🙏 you will like 👍 it
Thank you for sharing, brothe Lou. You had a Sriper and it spit out the lure. What hppened to the Blue fish... couldn't here the volume? Happy Thanksging and keep on Fishing! 🎣🐟💯 th-cam.com/video/vD9EQ4cOK-Y/w-d-xo.html

@richardcatalinajr.369 thank you for watching the vid . It really is a great time to be out there and the weather is not bad to be out there either.
That’s funny about the guy saying take the teaser off, I was thinking the same thing when I saw you running a bottle with a teaser.
He was catching tons of stripers so I took his advice for sure
Enjoyed the video! Never caught a striper or a blue. Heck, I just caught my first tog today so basically had back to back PB's all day. Lol
Nice slingshot, I'll have to go watch your vid next .

@CJSpangler316 yeah I learned that by watching everyone around me bomb out top water lures and caught them. Bow I have a few top water with me
Nice! I’m hoping to get out this fall.
Get out there they are biting, just make sure you have topwater lures with you unlike me lol
Nice video. I am still trying to get my first striper. I’m still figuring out all these lures
@@lg1886 same here, tight lines hope you get on them as well

I was just talking to a fella about teaser & plug leaders...Have you had luck with that combo and different plugs, Lou?
Well I did have one on for a second that got off looked pretty decent. But no luck after that
Nice job !
@TsunamiSam tsunamisam thanks so much
Enjoyed your music I just subbed looking forward to more vids
Thanks so much for the sub and feedback of the music .
DK what tackle shop you went to but the closest to Sandy Hook is in Sea Bright. Keep on keeping on!
@@MartinVSmith6334 i went to Julian's Bait and Tackle
Almost wish you kept your teaser on since you got a hit with it. Maybe your presentation with the teaser was better than his.
