Love the D50. Had one when I was 17 and only sold it, stupidly, a few years back. Didn't have the room to keep it. I've got the Roland Cloud version which I love. Fantastic demonstration as usual guys. Keep up the fantastic work. Love your videos, especially once the English subtitles are added... 😉
The JV-1080 VSTi is currently the same as the XV-5080 VSTi, even with the same effects and all the same waveforms (from the XV-5080) but with fewer factory patches. Maybe in the future Roland will update it and model the real JV-1080's distinctive 32kHz DAC, but currently the JV-1080 VSTi doesn't sound like the real JV-1080, can't load SysEx messages from the real JV-1080 and currently works at a frequency of 44.1 kHz. There is currently no reason whatsoever to have different VSTs for the XV-5080 and JV-1080, they are literally the same and do not represent the subtle differences in sound between the two. The D-50 VSTi much more accurately represents the real D-50 than the JV-1080 VSTi represents the real JV-1080.
Of course the real hardware has slightly smoother and more natural than the plugin version. But it won't hurt to have a D-50 plugin because all the patches including from PN-D50 series cards and the programability of PG-1000 are included and complete.
Watching this with auto translate on made me realize I could pick up what Ujie is saying despite the shoddy translation. I must have watch too much vid on this channel 😅
I'd be surprized if any todays D-50 has a fully working keyboard. Usually pressure and/or aftertouch is faulty. If not sure always play it through Midi.
Hi Ueji! I find that my JD-800 sounds better than the Cloud one. I love having a D50 in my laptop, but, other than for the convenience, I'll never sell my D-50 or D550. Since I (slightly) regret selling the Juno-60 when eBay was young, it's nice having a software one. But even that doesn't thrill me any more. Instead of the Jupiter-8 cloud synth, I go more to the real Jupiter 80. That's my opinion. My other opinion is that you are a wonderful talent, and it's great having your videos. Ohio Goes Zai Mas, dude!
Its only the reverb levels that are different, on the vst you have to tone the reverb down a bit to match the hardware then there is very little in it, although some people swear there is a noticeable difference, I couldnt really notice it. The keyboard on the D50 is excellent though.
A midi controller with a keyboard is not necessary. You can still select the sounds from this plugin within the DAW that you are using. This video provides examples: th-cam.com/video/Mr6C_bvyPrU/w-d-xo.html

Thank you! The D-50 is one of my favorites featured in Roland Cloud. I'd love to see a comparison for the JV-1080 as well one day in the future!

Bravo Ueji
you are my hero 😊

I would love the D50 more if you could change the filter slopes for the virtual analog part.

Fantastic, thank you

Wow this one sounds so similar

can someone please tell me what this style of playing is called? i love these chords hes using
Totally newbie here but do I need to have a keyboard to play this digital version of the Roland D50 or can I just use my computer?

Exactly!
The fact that people can't tell the difference of harmonically present and not, worries me.
Honestly, it all sounds the same in a busy mix. Especially with some EQ.
literally sounds the exact same, minus a bit too much reverb on the VST version. stop being an elitist about this shit.
They’re tone deaf morons.
