Roland synth sounds are always top class. This is a set of famous Roland synths so it is massive. I hope Roland will change protection strategy. I quit from Roland cloud because it needed an online check every week. During a concert Jupiter8 stopped to play because I forgot one week has passed. Since then I am using Roland simulations designed by other companies (Arturia and Cherry audio) that didn't bother me after I paid. Please Claudio... Tell Roland to change that!
its impossible to remote check. It's like having to call home every week to make sure you can perform. Totally agree. Arturia is the way go. Remote software and trouble free. Roland wont change it though, been. Roland user since 81. Have owned a JP4, JP8, 808, still own 909, JP8080, D50 and TB303. Love Roland but dont understand this cloud business.
The authentication has improved and can stay off line 1 month now. In my testing it has been 100% reliable but software is still software and other factors on the computer can play up of course.
One month or one week, does not change for me. I pay, I must be free to use without calling a program every now and then checking my subscription. Blocking me because I didn't check is a foolish punishment. When they will change that stupid thing I will start paying, if it stays like it is now I won't pay. It's a real pity because their VSTs play extremely well.
They changed it to 1 month. Still sucks that authentication is necessary at all, though. Cloud aside, the Fantom keyboards and FA-08 are very fine choices for Cloud sounds without the need to authenticate. Roland won't stop rehashing their old sounds in their ROMplers anyway. You can do without ACB and ABM, and if you bother learning sound design and how the quirks in their old synths work, you can punch in ABM on your own, no need for Roland to do it for you (and charge you for it).
Being an almost 100% Roland keyboard player since 1984, this collection sounds absolutely great and incredibly faithful to the originals ... despite the awful name they gave to it! :) :) :) Well done Claudio.
Ive been an owner of most of ROlands synths and TD drum kits.. There is a certain "something" that makes you always return to them. Ive got a MODx right now but my heart said Fantom just couldn't afford one.
I agree. Unless you're diehard heavy I to all the Roland synthesis, are proficient in playing and related knowledge and have the $$$ it's a great toy/tool. Otherwise get the new Go:Keys 5 with lots of sounds and more downloadable from Roland Cloud.
Can you program the patches and save them in the computer. I was the programmer for D50 and JD800 and most of my sounds for the D50 with the Studio Series 448 sounds across 7 rom cards were the sounds I used while touring. My sounds I sold to Valhalla Music who sold them through Keyboard Magazine from 1988-1992. They sold more 250000 of them. At the time i had 2 D50s as part of my stage setup but without my programs the D50 was not that usable. The power of that synth was being able to run saw and square waves through a few different algorithms including a pulse width modulation that was assignable to after touch and velocity. The other unique aspect of the D50 was the ability to combine PCM samples with digitally controlled analog waveforms. They did away with this technology when they switched to sample playback units in the 90s. But the D50 still stands alone as a unique sounding instrument ca-able of fat analog sounds layered with a limited number of sample transient and attack samples.
Loved this video!! Those Ultra Mega Pads were mind blowing!!! And this IS very attractive (Galaxias). I think the big turnoff is pay monthly or yearly for the Ultimate Package to get this...... I have a home HOBBY music studio..... I can't justify paying a monthly or yearly fee for stuff I may not even use right away..... or at all..... Between all my hardware synths (and MANY great VSTs), I just can't see myself going for this although I love the idea and what you can do with it!!! Thanks again for another great video!!

6:45 the 808 gets out of sync with the arpeggiator - I would have thought if they are all running inside Galaxias, that this would not happen. It's not lost on me that that multi-part, multi-model layered split with 808 behind it could actually be done in HARDWARE in that Fantom, without any software involved at all.
With computer technology now I don’t see a point in owning vintage hardware. Sound quality, dynamic range, convenience, cost, reliability, space you name it, I don’t see an advantage other than nostalgia. Phenomenal times we keyboardists’ are living in

I've been combining my analogue and my FM synth for leads for a while, but this two-part pad, where one is heavily delayed, is definitely something I have to try for myself!
Love the sounds out of this and would love to have one. But the synth purists out there will say that it does not sound as good as the original synths. I look at it this way, if it sounds good to you, that's all that matters.
It will be made available as a plugin soon, but it really doesn't do anything you can't already do with your DAW - at least, most DAWs have a way to group multiple instruments and effects (such as the Rack in Ableton Live).
Hi Dr. Mix✨ There’s a really cool new feature on Roland Cloud V2 instruments that at the moment include Juno 106, Juno 60, Jupiter 4, Jupiter 8, Jx-3p, called Circuit Mod. With that knob you can easily scroll through different tunings of the synth internals. The knob on 0 means all the internals are perfectly in tune so it sounds slightly different to the original analog synths. There’s also a Condition knob that simulates the age of the components. At zero it represents what a out of the factory new synth would have sounded like and if you turn it to minus it gets even more accurate than the real thing so it might sound too clean, so i usually turn it to plus side a bit to not have the synth be to static. Roland is doing an amazing job with these plugins🎉
I'd really like a deconstruction of other 90's hits. Claudio just makes them better than anyone else does and it makes him one of the best music youtubers ever

Sounds amazing. Do they sell it without subscribing to roland cloud?
GALAXIAS is exclusively(!) available with the Roland Cloud Ultimate membership.
Just read on their site: "To use this software, an Internet connection and user registration/logging in to Roland Backstage are required.""
This is a strange device -is Roland losing their way? Lol
@Werbeperlen that's a shame can't be doing with these rolling cloud contracts. They should give the option to purchase it separately.
