If so ST must consider joining a party that is most likely to come to power in 2019, 2014 ... so that he serve the nation in a better. I do't see much future for Congress ever emerging as the single largest pan India party. I lost its foot print in UP, BIhar, WB, AP, TN, Odissa, Delhi.
For that he must do a honest evaluation of Rahul as a PM material. But he is not willing to call a spade as spade. I voted BJP in 2014, and might probably do so once againbin 2019; the reason : I don't want my vote to go to the Gandhis. They are unfit to rule our country.. Not that I give a blank cheque to the BJP..in fact I believe that Congress would be better for India, but it can't be a Congress led by the Gandhis. It marvels when the gentleman like Mr. Tharoor speaks at length with great articulation and confidence showing his in-depth knowledge and insight into our systems both in negative and positive aspects. However, what is the end result when such kind of people in our country keep talking and impressing the audience whereas leadership is still growing at the grassroots level meaning that we are unable so far to solve the grassroots problem even after 76 years of Independence. Rahul Gandhi is the best politician to have for Indian's.. Look what has happened when he has resigned as Congress President? The entire opposition is in disarray, people who were opposing the Govt have lost voice.. All the Banarjees, Yadav's, Naidu's, Pawar's, news channels etc.. etc.. have all become lame duck..And going by the SC judgements it has become very clear that they have chickened out...BJP actually achieved what it wanted, dethroning, demoralising and de-characterising their most potent enemy.. They have taken years to do it, use every method they possibly could but achieved it. Rahul Gandhi is the only hope for India revival, or India growth story of what u are imagining like will be dead..
It is funny that this so called intellectual genius Shashi Tharoor talks about Rahul gandhi's Challenges to Modi for a 15 minute debate, and points out in the same breath that Modi has not accepted the challenge.
1.Had any such debates between a PM and a leader of opposition ever took place in Indian History? NO. Then what is the big point in high lighting Rahul's challenge when no such precedent ever happened, although most of PMs were from his own Congress party?
2. ST just fell short of admitting that lRahul Gandhi does't have required of leadership skills, experience and capability to be a PM, but those are not at all factors to be considered as he has good team of experts to fill the gaps and deliver good governance. What is the basis to say that Team Rahul is full of experts and Team Modi's does't have any? And when did Congress govts delivered good goverenance?
3.If ST means Team Rahul is = Rahul + some top Congress leaders, It needs to be pointed out that this Team Rahul is not going to get power on its own. It needs to form the largest ever alliance of parties. Congress with around 100 -120 seats at best, has to share power with the most corrupt, Parivaarwad and casteist parties like DMK, BSP, SP, RJD, TMC, JDU, TDP, etc. And unlike its earlier Avatar, this UPA-3 led by immature and gaffe prone Rahul will be a more turbulent dispensation with a very short life.
Sashi Taroor’s Defence of Congress is hopeless. Congress relied on group voting within communities like the Muslim or Castes The BJP put an end to that.
