The story of a friendship needs telling too, not just romantic relationships. This girl invested a lot of time and energy into her night out with her friend, and the friend casually blows her off. The smile in the text, while her real face is disappointed, says exactly what needs to be said about their dynamic. GIRL, I'll be your bestie! We can text all day long 😊

Yeah, it's more like her friendship is mismatched, rather than her clothing, which none of it is... Makes me wonder if the title is actually named after the character's "friend."
Person just fell asleep and now their friendship is fake ... Do you really understand, what friendship is? I dunno, maybe accepting that all of us can make mistakes?
@@The_wr1ter One of the challenges of short film is conveying plenty of information in a few minutes. The viewer is shown a slice of the protagonist's life, from which we can extrapolate what the rest of her life is like.
To put it another way, let's see this girl fall asleep when she has a work function, or a dinner reservation to meet her fiancé's parents. She won't, because she regards them as important. The friendship isn't necessarily "fake" - but the investment they each put in is, as the title reveals, mismatched. It happens to everyone at some point, and I think the film told this often untold story quite beautifully.
I like how she wears the same outfit at the end as the one she started with. Totally something I would do after hours of changing. 💀

this was really fun to watch, but the ending made my heart drop. i know it's not that sad, but i remember all the times i get really excited to go out with someone and put all this effort into my outfit because i'm so excited for them to text last minute they want to cancel. omg the disappointment and devastation i feel, and i felt it through them.

Thats not only "pet peeve".
It's about how, especially our, generation fews people: like objekts.
Switching, using and discarding people and their so called "Friends" like (old) clothes.
Sad generation.
Complains about all the bullshit they recive, but beeing assholes themselves.
Yes forgetting to answer or chanceling last minute can happen.
Put it's becoming the norm nowadays.
You don't even have to make a call.
Just a little "sorry can't make it" and thats it. The same with birthdays or holiday greetings. There are even internet sides we're you can copy replies, greetings or you just send a picture. Preferably some you got from another "friend", so you can spare you the time and effort to look for it yourself. Ah! And don't forget the copyfunktion, so you can send it to all your whats app contacts at once.
Why put yourself through all the effort and work and write for everyone a special unique text, if you can spend your time actually for usefull things, like yourself and your our own happyness?
Cause making other people happy can't probably make you happy as well.
Yes thats right.
And whys that?
Because other people are thinking THE SAME BULLSHIT WAY LIKE YOU and don't apreciate your efforts.
You recive bullshit and you give bullshit in return. And than you complain about it.
Thats our generation.
What a sad, sad thing.
Not to mention you feel embarrassed bc you're putting in all this effort and it makes you feel like you're a loser for caring so much when they don't

But I also have to mention this:
Always keep in mind your friends feelings and don't do things they might be uncomfortable with.
Like holding their birthday party at a strip club, buying an animal without permission, or a making a brithday cake with lots of calories when they are trying to lose weight etc.
Not every person is the same. And just because you like something, doesn't mean your friend likes it to.
It's always a matter of the situation and time, what your friend values, what they want/need and what not and what charakter they have.
You can't expect them to be happy about everything you do or buy them, especially not, if you hurt your friend feelings on the way.
And IF you indeed did hurt your friend feelings APOLLOGIZE.
And don't put the blame on your friend.
It's basically the same as if you say "If you don't do this or make that, you aren't our friend anymore".
And thats not friendship.
Thats using someone.
I too find it quite upsetting! I’ve had plenty of times where I’ve actually had the courage to go out with friends and they forget to tell me they’ve cancelled 😭 happens to the best of us I guess

the dual meaning of the title was honestly not something i expected (mismatched outfit vibes, mismatched friendship) but it was a welcome surprise ☺️ great work on this animation, seriously!!
Excellent excellent excellent work! In my heart I’m a fashion girl so it was so cute and exciting to see all of the outfits the character cycles through. This has so much energy and punch and fun! Congrats on all your hard work and well done 🎉

Been there to that extent once, it's devastatingly disappointing. The next day my friend was like "oops I fell asleep." we had a serious talk after. My friend said she'd do better, and she didn't. So I'm now considering our entire friendship yet again. It's sad, the same happens to her but the person who stands her up is her boyfriend. I feel this cycle can be vicious and I'm seriously considering breaking it. It's so difficult getting friends nowadays though and it sucks that when we do see each other, we have an amazing time together.
Good video though, made me reflect.
If this happend to me I'd be so mad, but this is such a good short theme love the vibes it brings and following the journey on tt has been wonderful

I absolutely love how the colors were all warm with yellow and orange in the beginning, and then ends with cool colors such as blue and purple. Such a pretty looking film! It's amazing!

I was really wondering if anyone else noticed that, no one was writing about it...
I rememeber seeing this in the early stages :0 so seeing it all come together feels so nice and just the way everything slowly reached the end where she ended up wearing her first outfit, and how cute it looks I just!! I love animation, I love seeing the way people do it! I love doing it and the process! Well done! SO much could be said on the lighting and the color choice alone excluding how each outfit makes you pause to see what crazy and uniqe outfit's been made, making you unpause and seeing the next! :D I can't wait to watch this over and over again, and look at the little details I missed each rewatch. :) Can't wait till next year :D

This is one of my comfort animations. I love everything about this. The way the pace quickens, along with the music. The art style, everything is perfect. I can’t explain how much this little 1 minute video tickles my brain, but it’s wonderful and I truly love this with my whole heart. Whenever I’m down or need a distraction, this will be my go-to forever ☺️💗

I loved watching it come together on tiktok and I loved watching the final product! I'm currently studying animation and even making a 2 second animation is SO time consuming, so I can't imagine the sheer amount of work you put into a whole 1 minute short film. Great job!!
You’re so real for this whole short lol, we’ve all been there! Ik it’s not that deep, but tbh the friend not responding then blowing off her bestie in the final hour after she put in all that work for her fit just gave me flashbacks to when I used to let my friends walk all over me😭I’d raise hell if a date did this to me, but if it was my girls I’d pretend to be cool about it even if it went on for far too long. Poor boundaries gang ✨🤡Had to realize most of them were just rude af and started investing more in friends who were real with me & didn’t give me this unnecessary run-around lol.

This is why I absolutely HATE the "self care" trend of canceling plans. If you are burnt out and need to prioritize yourself, then don't overbook yourself. Cut back on the plans you make. Don't bail on your friends last minute.
Watching this after the making of hits different. It shows just how long it takes to make such a short film. I am currently making my own film, wish me luck!
The amount of work put into this... God damn impressive. And the results are incredibly beautiful
I really liked the animation, it's beautiful and really fluid. However I'm happy to not be that person anymore. I never fully was to begin with, but I honestly would stress so much about an outfit only for the most important events. I feel that stressing over outfits for casual night out build anticipation and expectations that are not really worthy of most night out, and can even make them more stressfull than they should be (especially if you decide on pricey clothes/shoes). Of course it's completely personal. Also as an adult, so many things can go in the way of your night out that I'd rather have a fun plan B at home and not be too disappointed. But it might really depends on how much someone needs social interactions, and we are all quite different.
Either way, it was really nice, and I really enjoyed the colors too.
